What is on your worktop

Dull I know but reading about very few people having a bread bin made me wonder what do others have on their worktops?

I have the usual kettle, toaster, microwave, I also have a bread bin, fruit bowl, tea and coffee jars, egg basket, utensils holder, a pestal and mortar, a box of tissues, and often a vase of flowers!

Probably over crowded but all my cupboards are full!

So what do you have hidden and what is out on show?

The items out we use daily so it's more for convenience!

Coffee machine, calendar, notebook, pen pot, tea, coffee and sugar cannisters, toaster, salt and pepper pots.

DramaAlpaca · 12/09/2020 14:37

Going from right to left... rack of trays (then the hob) cooking condiments, utensils in a jug, microwave (then a length of clear worktop space and the sink) kitchen roll holder, coffee machine, bread bin, toaster, fruit bowl, banana tree, Kitchenaid...and finally a pile of clutter on the corner of the breakfast bar, which I try to keep clear. I like it homely and not too obsessively tidy.

PenguinsOnParade · 12/09/2020 14:57

Forgot the salt and pepper grinders, spoon rest and tea bag holder.

Everyday olive oil and balsamic vinegar, a half drunk bottle of red, a chopping board, a tub of utensils, a salt pig, a kitchen aid, a pestle and mortar, a food caddy, some fresh herbs, the coffee grinder and a fruit bowl.

Its quite a big space, so not cluttered. The toaster and food processor and stuff live in a cupboard and we have a boiling water tap.

I love seeing my coordinated appliances on the worktop.

IncyWincyGrownUp · 12/09/2020 17:40

Kettle, toaster, coffee machine, chopping boards (upright, between the wall and the toaster). The microwave is on top of the tumbler.

We have a decent sized kitchen, we just have very little storage and work surface space in it.

@lorn195 I'm glad I'm not the only one. I just hate clutter. I also bake a lot and don't want to spend hours cleaning up after a spray of cocoa powder or icing sugar coats everything within a 2m distance

Sheknowsaboutme · 13/09/2020 10:54

Bread bin
Toaster
Egg house
Kettle
Biccie barrel
Utensil pot
Ikea lamp
Kitchen roll
Micro

Coffee etc in the cupboard

LilOldMe · 13/09/2020 11:03

I find bread bins are MASSIVE! Way bigger than a loaf of bread. So I just keep bread in the cupboard.

Our worktops are lively:
Kettle
Coffee machine
Radio
Food-recycling caddy
Cookie jar
Basil plant
Other huge houseplant
Utensil pot
Spoon rest
Small food processor
Toaster
Deep-fat fryer
Fruit bowl
Microwave

maddiemookins16mum · 13/09/2020 11:22

Currently, Knife block, fruit bowl, kettle, utensil holder, spice rack, dulce gusto coffee machine and further down the other end the food caddy.
Oh and the slow cooker with Greek inspired shoulder of lamb for dinner.

TSSDNCOP · 13/09/2020 11:25

Toaster, kettle, biscuit tin, bread bin, charging area, coffee machine, fruit bowl, oil bottle, radio

AGoatAteIt · 13/09/2020 11:30

Toaster
Kettle
Bread bin
Random bits of crap

Utensils are hanging from hooks on the wall and knives are stored on a a long magnet underneath.

Bluesheep8 · 13/09/2020 11:33

Kettle
Tea, coffee, sugar storage jars
Kitchen roll and holder
An antique recipe book stand
Wooden chopping board
2 large jar candles
An oil burner
Some mince which is defrosting

Bluesheep8 · 13/09/2020 11:33

Oh and the kettle

Galwaygirl · 13/09/2020 11:34

Kettle, nespresso machine, weighing scales and alexa, nothing else, hate clutter

CokeyCola · 13/09/2020 11:37

I want a cat on my worktop (though I'd end up with dogs up there too).

In awe of these empty worktops.

TattiePants · 13/09/2020 12:33

Usually it’s just a fruit bowl and nothing else as I hate clutter. We have a tambour unit with pull out shelves to house the kettle, toaster, coffee machines etc and everything else lives in drawers. However, I haven’t been downstairs since Friday (hurt my back) so god knows what state it’s in now.

BashfulClam · 13/09/2020 14:32

Kettle, toaster and microwave. I hate stuff cluttering the worktop.

Mother2princess · 13/09/2020 14:37

Kettle toaster bread bin
Microwave

Dontfuckingsaycheese · 13/09/2020 14:39

It doesn't look much more uncluttered when it's tidied.

What is on your worktop
AshenQueen · 13/09/2020 14:39

Right now it’s a bit of a mess, we have ;
Kettle, tea coffee and sugar jars, toaster, hand sanitisers, fruit bowl, a cutlery caddy thingy, a jug with utensils in it, an iPad, Alexa, kitchen roll and a coffee machine. It’s a tiny kitchen. I’m going to go and clean it now 🤦🏻‍♀️

AshenQueen · 13/09/2020 14:40

@Dontfuckingsaycheese I love your tea& coffee jars

ilikefakeplants · 13/09/2020 14:44

Kettle, toaster, microwave and tea coffee and sugar holders (I like the look of them) I like to keep things neat and tidy and couldn't stand it all cluttered.

Rookiegardener · 13/09/2020 15:10

Bread bin (also houses the butter and eggs)
Coffee machine
Microwave
Kettle
Jars for coffee tea sugar

I hate clutter so try to always have space free.

Rookiegardener · 13/09/2020 15:10

Oh and toaster!
