Same here @trusttgegenegenie when it comes to coffee. I like the idea of it but much prefer tea.

Tea doesn't have the same kudos, but I tell you, get between me & my tea & you'll know about it!

Bollss · 12/09/2020 20:53

I've looked in threads I'm on and there's nothing.... But it must have gone somewhere!! Probably somewhere totally inappropriate where I've no business telling people to get out Grin ah well.

StareyCat · 12/09/2020 20:54

@2beesornot2beesthatisthehoney I had a relative with severe physical and mental health problems who was locked down with her kids. I did my best to get her proper care, before and after she had hospital treatment (she'd normally have been kept in but wasnt because of covid). She's dead now; she collapsed in her house days after she was refused hospital admission and one of her children found her. Fuck you and your greater good; you're only a handspan away from arguing that working harder at this will make us free.

I survive on tea first thing on a morning. I made someone I don't know that well (at work so perfectly legally incase anyone's worried about my crimes) a brew. I asked her how she liked it and she said..... Medium. Reader - I have drank tea for years but I could not ascertain what medium meant. I only do milky, strong or builders. She didn't complain so it must have been ok. Or she was being polite. I'll never know!

I'm 100% coffee. Tea is just meh - and leaves a funny taste in my mouth. I think it's the tannin - leaves my mouth feeling 'kind of' coated. Weirdly though, my drink of choice is Red Wine - full of tannins and I love it.

@TrustTheGeneGenie
You need one of these mugs for your colleague! It makes working relationships so much easier.

I love tea as well but have become a bit obsessed with coffee during lockdown. Have walked literally miles for a decent one (breaking the roolz but not the actual rules). I love a decent farmshop @bakingcupcakes. Need to find one with damsons or have I left it too late?

TheOrchidKiller · 12/09/2020 21:03

@RealityExistsInTheHumanMind
I can do tea in one hand & wine in the other.
Actually, that feels like a good idea right now...

Littlebelina · 12/09/2020 21:03

bottom row is only way to go on that mug surely?

I'm the other way I cannot do red wine. I can do white or pink but red.... Nope. Even the smell of it. Not for me! Weird isn't it!

@TheOrchidKiller oh yeah that would have helped! I'm always nervous making tea for people I don't know what well. I remember when I was first seeing dp he informed me that I stir it the wrong way!! 8 years later I still stir it the same way and I still think he's talking shite.

Littlebelina · 12/09/2020 21:04

Sorry to hear about your friend @stareycat

I'm more second row from the bottom, second in from the right!

Second from the right is OK, second from the left and we might have to have words

bakingcupcakes · 12/09/2020 21:10

I can't do red wine ever since I drank a bottle of it as a teenager and threw up everywhere. It was awful. 20 years later and the smell still makes me heave. Grin

I didn't see any damsons today Belina but I wasn't really looking. I bought eggs, jam, chocolate, crisps and some of their homemade freezer stuff none of which I actually needed. I like to support local businesses if I can though. We have a fabulous (much closer) farm shop which i haven't visited since March. I keep meaning to go but for a long while it was phone orders only and I don't know if its changed back.

@TrustTheGeneGenie What's the correct way to stir tea? I'm intrigued.

Collateral damage then eh @2beesornot2beesthatisthehoney?

What about the domestic homicides? The people with undiagnosed conditions because they cannot see a doctor?
I can't even begin to tell you the things I've had to deal with at work because of this.

All lives matter? Clearly not. Your comment is disgusting.

And I'm so sorry about your relative @StareyCat

Bollss · 12/09/2020 21:13

@bakingcupcakes I stir clockwise which is apparently, wrong. So I guess anti clockwise is the correct and acceptable way to stir. According to dp. He's never told me his reasoning though! It's "just wrong!" Apparently.

LivinLaVidaLoki · 12/09/2020 21:15

As far as tea goes, anything above the bottom row is an abomination.

Littlebelina · 12/09/2020 21:15

I've been buying stuff I don't need to support local businesses as well cupcakes, usually really careful with cash so feels weird!

PinkFondantFancy · 12/09/2020 21:15

@StareyCat I'm so sorry Flowers

I'm intrigued about what actions @2beesornot2beesthatisthehoney thinks people here are doing that are endangering others. I've been here for about 20 threads and what I've witnessed is compliance with every absurd rule going. Doesn't mean we're not allowed to grumble about it or question the point of it. But anyway, this is a supportive group of people chatting and looking out for each other's health.

PinkFondantFancy · 12/09/2020 21:16

Tea is gross. Am I allowed to stay??

Bollss · 12/09/2020 21:16

What's everyone's views on dunking biscuit? To dunk, or not to dunk?

RealityExistsInTheHumanMind · 12/09/2020 21:17

I've been to the local park today. There are loads of mirabelle plum trees that are just heaving.

Some trees are red and they get stripped quickly, others are yellow and they get left. The yellow ones are generally the sweetest. I try to gather a couple of pounds each year - makes lovely jam.
