When I went to the surgery the other day, I walked straight in. I had a mask on but until I got to the barrier 2 m from the desk I didn't see anyone. Receptionist had a mask on but was absolutely fine with me (I do know how lucky I am with friendly receptionists).
I had only turned up for my smear a month early!!!!! (Not sure if I posted at the time). Luckily the surgery is about 100 m from my house so no big deal. Have never seen the waiting room so empty though.

It’s been a windy, sunny, showery day here in N Yorks and boy have I been ill. I’m suspecting food poisoning.

So have enjoyed none of the sunshine.
At least being here rather than at home mr Dowser has been able to have a walk up to the farm for some eggs.

I tried to rally enough to go out but just couldn’t manage it and went back to bed.

I've been accepted onto a Masters Degree course through work. Fully funded.

Some utter thundercunt posted a thread on how Covid-19 hasn't really affected the economy because no one they know has been affected...

I'll make sure I tell my foodbank clients that next week. Our usage has gone up tenfold since lockdown.

It's not just the ignorance that get to me, it's the sheer arrogance.

This one amuses me no end - especially when it's Germany who are doing Covid "'properly" as DH's boss is German and went back there at the start of the pandemic and he pisses himself laughing at the idea that they're doing things competently compared to the UK!

Oh yeah forgot to mention - was talking to my friend who previously was terrified and on about not sending her kids back to school. She was absolutely fear stricken from it all - really sad to see.

Her tone has now flipped to "bloody hell they need to go back ASAP".

We are on hols in Cornwall in a town with shops (normally we stay in a village with a pub if you are lucky). I want to shop locally but DP is worried about the other tourists not socially distancing in the street. I've told him not to be silly as the chance of catching it when you are walking past someone is minute.

@dominashantotto I know its hilarious isn't it. Like I said upthread when I got back from my trip, The German and Dutch tourists were awful for refusing to stay a distance away and wear masks.
My cousin who works at a large AI said they made her and a lot of the other guests really uncomfortable with their almost petulant refusal to abide by the very (lets face it) loose rules.
