So what are you up to in today's heat?

It's going to be 35 degrees here by midday apparently (East of England) and I can't decide what to do. I've had all week off work and haven't achieved a lot... So far I've done yoga and had breakfast!

What is everyone up to - embracing or hiding from the heat?!

Hiding indoors. I don't do intense heat now I'm older. 20- 21c is hot enough for me, and it's going to be 29c here.

Some good thunderstorms to look forward to from Monday onwards though!

Hiding! 38 weeks pregnant and have been dreading this day coming. Just going to lay back and hopefully do as little as possible.

I don't know, about 6.30 ish. Actually, thinking about it I've done loads, stripped the beds, washed it and hung it all out, vacummed, sorted the recycling, emptied the bins, cleaned and tidied the bathroom and kitchen, done a second wash. Limescaled the kitchen and bathroom and put clothes away
Fuck it, I'm done now Grin
Hope you have a lovely day OP

@Misty9

Shock *@FlamingoAndJohn* can I come and sit in your garden please?! Grin that looks gorgeous.

Thank you. You’d be very welcome.
It is generally 8° cooler down there than the top of the garden which is in full sun all day.

24 degrees where we are (northwest) but very overcast so feels cooler. Im sat in the car waiting for dd to finish her riding lesson. Then we're off to buy paint to do her bedroom ceiling. We'll go out for a walk later then have yoga in the park this evening. If it gets a bit warmer I'll fill the pool and do a bbq for tea.
I also have the ironing pile to finish, which isn't too bad if the sun is shining as I'll stand outside and do it.

Hot already here - I'm going to wait for the shopping delivery and put another load of washing on, then the plan is to sit in the shade with my book whilst the kids splash about in the pool, bbq for tea

I'm sat back in bed as had some I'm assuming Brixton hicks that were really uncomfortable. I'm only 25 weeks!

Got some washing on, which is very very much needed as I got shamefully behind with morning sickness and haven't caught up yet. I've been keeping up with what we are using now but there are 2 full bedding sets in the pile along with a large amount of the winter clothes we were wearing in March! I'd been adding the odd item into normal washes so the mountain was shrinking anyway but should be able to get rid of it today.

This morning I need to roast a chicken, cook off some sausages and get the 3 year old to help me bake some fairy cakes as our contribution to a picnic tomorrow where we are meeting family. Brilliant timing on needing to use the oven Grin

After lunch the plan is family time in the garden and refill the paddling pool for DS and then maybe a walk down to the local playground after dinner. The little kids section is always empty in the evening which is easier with the restrictions and we won't get him to bed until a bit late tonight anyway as his room gets evening sun and will be boiling!

Today I will mainly be trying to keep the babies cool, the 8 month old will be entertained by a small paddling pool of water but the 15 week old will be more difficult I suspect as the baby has epilepsy, sight and hearing loss. Luckily we live in an old house with thick walls, the house stays cooler than modern houses so I am hoping the coolness of the living room will work its magic once Small needs a sleep.

It's not very hot here. I want to paint the garden fence. Need to buy paint. When dh comes in I am off out to a coffee shop with my book I think!

Me- packing for self catering UK holiday, washing, changing beds etc, taking pets to cattery. Pottering and lazing in between jobs

DH- at work

DCs- making the most of WiFi as they were horrified when I told them the holiday cottage has no WiFi, no Netflix, prime, disney plus or sky. Just free view. So they're getting maximum screen time today Grin

Hiding, it's forecast to be 34° here later, way too hot to be outside even in the shade.

@BertieBassettsBits you're definitely done I reckon! You've inspired me though so I've just stripped dd's bed and put a wash on. Luckily, one of the upsides of living alone half the time is the place doesn't get that dirty (not noticeably at least Grin )

@Lackadaisically there is nothing to be ashamed about when pregnancy sickness is involved. I hope it's easing now, I had it until 20 weeks and it was horrendous. Remember to rest too Flowers

@Bluewavescrashing - my two are on holiday with WiFi, but no ps4 Shock Shock so I'm expecting a lot of catching up when they're back with me! Grin

@sitckmansladylove ooh I love a good coffee shop and book. Just feels a bit weird here still. Enjoy though!

It's heating up properly here so I think my bike ride plan is out. So far am dancing around to radio1 anthems Grin

Sending cool vibes to all the pregnant women and tiny babies!

If I was having a day off on my own I'd do an indoor workout with fan turned up to max. Make a chilled lunch then alternate between the garden to indoors whilst reading for most of the day. Plenty of iced drinks and ice lollies!

I don't have children so that would be the plan but I look after kids 5 days a week and it's so hard in the heat to keep everyone entertained and cool!
We have had a chilled morning and will head to do some crafts (pre booked thing) this afternoon will be back around 3.30 and probably Kids will go in the pool

I was outside at 6am putting cushions out and filling the pool, put a wash on, made a pot of coffee and sat outside, it was lovely and comfortable then. Not so much now. Making tapas with DH later and looking forward to some cold white wine.

I have a pool. Many kids are coming to swim in it in family groups. My kids will as well but I kind of work out slots so family and friends can come over. They come in the back gate and we are socially distanced.
The pool came with the house and I sort of feel we should share it.
I watch everyone like a hawk and then at about 8pm when everyone is gone I’m going to jump in and stay there until tomorrow.
I’m not keen on the heat.

Ooh tapas sounds lovely. All my friends say they envy my child free time, but I tell them it's easy to wish for it and not so easy to fill it when you have it! I know I'm lucky to not have to meet anyone's needs but my own some days though.

@Goslowlysideways all night?! Grin that's so lovely of you to share it. I'll be going for a swim in the sea this evening when it's hopefully cooled down a bit.

I find it hard not to think I'm wasting the day, no matter what I do!
