Describe your childhood in three words

I’m interested to know....have had a recent insight that has made me wonder about how other people view their childhoods.

In the way

Poor, claustrophobic, lonely

Skint criticised depressing

Really bloody shit

Happy Safe Carefree

Not mother's priority or
Everything but wanted or
Plain, inadequate, serious

Cosy, loved, play

Happy, safe and very loved

Lonely, tedious, frustrating

But also independent, discovering, reading so two sides of a coin.

Absolutely bloody awful

Narc mother, inept/scared of a second divorce father. Sister who was mother's out and out fave. Turned out she was the product of an affair and clearly she loved him more than my dad, hence why she hated me yet loved my sister
Haven't spoken to them since I was 16. Truly a vile bunch.

Violent, unwanted, hated.

Until I was 13, then
Liked, loved, respected.

Damaging, rejected, insecure

Semiferal, hippy, outdoorsy

Lonely neglected stressed.

Hostile, confusing and scary

Sad, lonely, bullied

Dad hated us

Blissful, happy, blessed

Bullied, inconvenient, sad

Happy, safe, secure.

Happy, safe, secure

Loved, Anxious, Lots of walking (my mum didn’t drive when I was little and we waked literally miles every day)

I was a very anxious child but I cannot explain why. I’m certain it was nothing my parents did. I had a great happy childhood. We were not well off at all until I was about 9, then we moved area and had a large house and a more middle class life. But my happiest memories are of when we were actually quite poor but I was blissfully unaware. They were so good at giving us everything we needed when they actually had sod all.
I do feel lucky

Scared. Scapegoated. Hopeless.

Chaotic. Idyllic. Happy.
