I’m interested to know....have had a recent insight that has made me wonder about how other people view their childhoods.

Internalised compound traumas.

Terrifying
Isolated
Hungry

parents both teachers

Loved, fun, loyalty

Miserable, dull, isolated

Family, freedom, expectations

Rural,adventures,loved.

(Although my mum is one of those stiff upper lipped non-tactile types, her actions showed us we were very much loved)

Poor but happy (most of the time)

Arguments, Stress, Trapped

Lonely inconsistent and magical

Never prioritised
chaotic
ponies

Secure
Misfit
Independent

Alone, unwanted, Sad

Frightening, lonely, abused

Loving, happy & supported

Happy
Horses
Outside

Fun, supported, adventures.

Neglected Unwanted Bereaved
Neglected by my mother
Unwanted by my stepmother
Bereaved, my younger sister died suddenly

Only one tried

Anxious feral grandparents

Not Golden Child

Boring, dull, misplaced

Pain degradation disgust

Safe, adored, working-class

It's shocked me how many people have had such traumatic and unhappy childhoods- since of the words have taken my breath away. Know that you are welcome, equal and listened to here.
