I’m interested to know....have had a recent insight that has made me wonder about how other people view their childhoods.

blissful, secure, unaware

Never quite belonged

Violent, hated, inadequate.

Loved, fun, sunny.

Too long ago

Bullied, anxious, inadequate.

Abused, overlooked, forgotten

Happy, comfortable, loved

looking back, I remember it as being controlled 'for my own good'

Couldn't wait to be independent.

Longing for adulthood

Misfit, alone, survival

For those who felt loved and supported, what actions on the part of your family made you feel that way? I'm not childlike and struggle to engage with children generally... and constantly worry my DC feel like a burden even if they're not.

Or rather sat in the car outside the pub.

Sad unloved forgotten

@SummerBlossom for me it was the cuddles and kisses from both parents. I felt safe.

Loved. Mostly happy.

A hot mess.

Toys, telly and teatime

Treading on eggshells

Freedom, rural, loved.

Not the worst

unwanted, scared, violent.
