Just because I know you all love a live threadGrin
And also because I promised updates to @notthemum, @pickingdaisies, @RandomMess and @Umberta!

37+0 today. I'm due to get the plaster off my broken ankle tomorrow, been looking forward to it all week and then I had a small gush of liquid this afternoon. Then another, bigger one an hour later, with what was probably my mucus plug.

My hospital bag was packed but I'd bought a load of new stuff in the sale last week so emptied it all out yesterday to wash and start again. DH watching me, rolling his eyes, telling me to "stop acting like I'm going to give birth tomorrow".

Ha! I'll never let him forget that one!!!

Haven't had any contractions yet, bar a couple of minor twinges this morning that went away with painkillers. I'm still on anticoagulants for my foot so just on my way to hospital now to see what the score is and if they'll let me attempt a vbac or if it's going to be another c section.

Wish me luck!

It could be Braxton Hicks. I thought I was in labour everyday from 37 weeks. I have birth 3 days before my due date. I also lost my mucous plug then. It grows back.

Timmytoo · 30/07/2020 16:46

In fact the day I actually went into labour I didn't say anything as I thought it was probably false again. 😂

Elderflower14 · 30/07/2020 16:51

Good Luck... I had my waters broken two weeks early due to pre eclampsia by a registrar and something that looked like a large crochet needle...!

mamansnet · 30/07/2020 18:09

😘😘😘 mnmum! They're keeping me in, if contractions haven't started within 24 they'll induce me. Anticoagulants will be out of my system tonight which is very reassuring. Have cancelled the plaster removal appointment for tomorrow! 😂

MissSmiley · 30/07/2020 18:17

I'd be tempted to cut that plaster off myself

I think I remember you, you fell down the stairs a few weeks ago?

Either way, very exciting! Good luck!

Good luck and glad you're on your way to hospital.
Something similar happened to me, stuck it out at home and ended up with a proplasped cord.....I know you shouldn't tell stories to pregnant women but it was very frightening.

mamansnet · 30/07/2020 20:58

Yep @icebearforpresident that would be me! Fell down the stairs 6 weeks ago today. Luckily this particular hospital also has an orthopaedics unit (French system!) so they're hoping they can still get the plaster off and X-ray done tomorrow before things kick off. Cervix is still closed and high so I can't see labour starting by itself in the next 24 hours!

Currently got a needle in my wrist ready for a drip and it hurts like hell - normal I don't mind them but this one hurts. It also means I can't use my Zimmer frame to get to the loo, shift myself up in bed or lift myself up to get the stash of Lindt I put in my hospital bag, arghhhh!

Buzzing a nurse in to get your chocolate is a totally valid buzz.

mamansnet · 30/07/2020 21:58

@Bobbiepin you are a total genius. We need more bobbiepins in this world.

Evil needle has gone and a new one is in my right arm so I can now reach my chocolate bar, thank goodness!!!

Oooh exciting! Good luck @mamansnet I hope you have things to keep you occupied! I found a puzzle book really helped when I was waiting around in the hospital for things to kick in!

Allgirlskidsanddogs · 30/07/2020 22:27

Good luck @mamansnet. Lots of us have followed your thread and will be following this too. Has she got a name yet or are you frantically googling from your hospital bed?
