Slight tweak to the suggestion, but here it is.

Mea culpa. Goodness I’m practically a eugenecist!

Nihiloxica · 07/07/2020 10:01

The awful science of eugenics - letting the elderly die after long and productive lives, often with multiple generations they begat to mourn them.

It's just so wrong.

TheGreatWave · 07/07/2020 10:02

tuck that sounds rubbish for you all.

The temperature = covid thing is really annoying. I know people have to be cautious, but it seems like all thought and reasoning goes. A bit like vomiting = bug = 48 hours off school, and it can never possibly be something such as migraine induced vomiting.

@InsaneInTheViralMembrane

Every time a pre-schooler has their tonsils out a granny dies.
😂😂😂😂
Ibake · 07/07/2020 10:08

Morning all. Waves across the sea at @nihiloxica, tis wet and miserable on this side of the Pennines too but I can't stay in bed reading as Henry Hound would not appreciate that

Shock

At least 3 grannies just dropped dead at you writing that. Clap your hands this instance and go outside your door and stand where people can hear you praise the NHS.

EVERY sadly death is a tragedy. Every one, even when someone is 105 and ready to go and has had a fulfilling life with lots of privilege. Even when that person has had dementia for ten years and has suffered enough. And not to mention when that person is an abuser or a murderer or spent their lives being a pain in the bloody arse to all of their loved ones.

TUT.

Nihiloxica · 07/07/2020 10:10

It's the cold I really object to. It's like summer is over. Sad

It is. Where is summer. Gray overcast.

Come back summer I won’t breathe at you and kill the sun

Yeah I’ve seen this before. Elderly people dying is not fucking eugenics ffffffs ....!

KaronAVyrus · 07/07/2020 10:15

Technically the children in Scotland have started their summer holidays so naturally this means 6 weeks of pish weather. It will be beautifully sunny some time in mid August.

LadyOfTheImprovisedBath · 07/07/2020 10:15

@justasking111 - thank you for the Senedd Cymru petitions link.

Last week the 3 year old had chickenpox, even though he was vaccinated as a baby, and had also had it a year ago

That's incredilbly unlucky - I've only met one child who had it twice and according to the Mum GPs were surprised.

I did think of getting them vaccinated for chickenpox but money was so tight when they were young then older two children got it. Youngest has been repeatedly exposed in nursury and school but has't had it yet - though MIL escaped all childhood illnesses and been told she probably had them really mild so maybe she takes after her.

torydeathdrug · 07/07/2020 10:17

No shit Sherlock. Deaths in my area are almost 10% below the 5 year average.

LadyOfTheImprovisedBath · 07/07/2020 10:23

@BarkandCheese - thanks to your post I checked our orthodontist and they are now open but for emergencies -but say get in touch to know when they can see us - so yay.

torydeathdrug · 07/07/2020 10:24

Countrywide it’s 3.5% down for the second week running - people who should be dying now died in April/May. It will probably continue like that until we get all the lockdown related deaths bumping the average back up.

Willow2017 · 07/07/2020 10:26

Morning all. Bloody cold today windy and dull. Where's the bloody summer?

But do the masks protect you against zombie grannies?

Tbh the zombie apocalypse would be easier. At least you would know what to do. We would have one rule for all.
'Kill the dead, fear the living'
and a legitimate reason to shoot sanctimonious tin pot dictator wannabes

Working later, should be interesting to see how all the ott measures are going down and if i can remember them all never mind survive 8 hrs in a visor! 😄

torydeathdrug · 07/07/2020 10:34

Bloody hell even more people are ‘missing’ from hospital ... I am still so angry about this Angry

They aren’t full of any patients let alone covid patients!

KaronAVyrus · 07/07/2020 10:37

The important thing is we protect the NHS - the best way we can do this is if it doesn’t treat any patients, ever.

^ absolutely & it seems like Brits are doing the responsible thing and staying at home to die. Wouldn’t want to inconvenience anyone!

Yep, this is very true. We need a new slogan. I'm all out of slogans this morning, anyway mine are too violent and sweary. My granny wouldn't like them. She's been dead for about 30 years, but I'm sure she'll come back when I get into competitive mask wearing,
NannyPhlegm · 07/07/2020 10:44

Those graphs!
And it doesn't even take into account lockdown induced deaths : suicides, abuse, DIY accidents etc etc

NannyPhlegm · 07/07/2020 10:45

Or does it?

TuckMyWin · 07/07/2020 10:45

@Ladyoftheimprovisedbath

That's incredilbly unlucky - I've only met one child who had it twice and according to the Mum GPs were surprised.

I think the vaccine is 80 something percent effective at preventing all chickenpox infections, and more like 100% effective at preventing severe infections. To be fair, neither time he's had it has been severe, and last week he had maybe a dozen spots in total which barely even blistered. The eldest was vaccinated as well and hasn't had it either time his brother has, so I guess it worked on him! If I wasn't so fed up with it all at the moment I'd find it actually quite interesting- my brother and I both had shingles as children, and apparently they think there is a genetic element to whether you are likely to get that as a child (which in itself is unusual), so I wonder if I've passed on my super susceptibility to the varicella virus to my youngest!

Orangeblossom78 · 07/07/2020 10:46

Does anyone remember this, from mid April?
