How do you smell if you go 48 hours with washing/ showering or using deodorant?

Especially in terms of armpit. Do you smell a lot, a little or not at all in 48 hours?

Another dry earwaxer here and no BO, I make my DD check me occasionally as I feel I really should smell Grin.
Though I'm v jealous of my daughter's lovely squelchy earwax Blush

RideaCockHorseOfCourse · 01/07/2020 21:30

I don't smell after I had an accident in the war which left me with a condition which means I can't sweat.
CatBatCat Is that you Andy? Grin

KingOfDogShite · 01/07/2020 21:35

I very rarely smell tbh. Only usually If I’ve been wearing polyester clothes and then it’s only slightly sweaty.

Don’t get Bo, don’t get earwax, feet don’t smell.

I'd honk! I'm fascinated by this dry earwax thing. The links provided did not work but I will look it up. What I can definitely say, having a good sense of smell, is that some people THINK they don't smell when they absolutely do.

randolph78 · 01/07/2020 21:37

To add, this means that mask wearing is having some benefits for me as we enter the time of year when a fair percentage of people smell really disgusting to me.

employeewoes · 01/07/2020 21:39

Unless I've been doing heavy exercise I wouldn't smell much at all. I'm lucky, I don't smell much of BO ever really. Not sure why some people do and some don't.

I have a really really sensitive nose and can smell myself usually so I'm pretty certain it's that I don't smell rather than I can't smell it!

DramaAlpaca · 01/07/2020 21:39

I don't and neither do two of my adult sons. We might if it's been really hot, but not otherwise.

The other adult son & DH would hum a fair bit after two days.

MsAwesomeDragon · 01/07/2020 21:42

I often go 48 hours without a shower, but I do wear deodorant. I smell fine, as long as I'm wearing the antiperspirant but if I didn't then I would get quite aromatic within a few hours tbh. If I try to go longer than 48 hours between showers though (when ill, not a normal occurrence) then my hair begins to smell.

Russellbrandshair · 01/07/2020 21:42

I’d stink.
So I shower daily and have good hygiene/use deodorant. If it’s a genetic thing which I agree it is (the dry ear wax thing) then people can’t help it can they?

Gwenhwyfar · 01/07/2020 21:44

Depends on the weather. This week, wouldn't make much difference. Last week, would've ponged.

ChanklyBore · 01/07/2020 21:45

I smell occasionally, and I have no problem with smelling it/identifying the problem and sorting it out by washing. Most of the time I dont smell much, and I apply deodorant maybe once a week if I’m going to be out all day, maybe antiperspirant if I’m going to be wearing a tight top. My feet don’t smell, my armpits don’t smell.

I also have one DC that is stinky and one that isn’t. There is no problem with my nose.

Nameandgamechange123 · 01/07/2020 21:45

@CatBatCat hilarious reference to prince Andrew interview

I absolutely reek after about 12 hours of no deodorant. I'm a very sweaty person.

worldweary45 · 01/07/2020 21:46

@Smyths

It's the earwax thing

One dry, one greasy and lots of it takes after their dad

No difference in diet that I'm aware of but this started when they were early teens and they were still eating what I gave them

VettiyaIruken · 01/07/2020 21:47

Not fresh! You can't really smell yourself so you think you smell better than you do! That's why I have an agreement with my husband to be brutally honest about it and not shy away from telling the other if they reek 😁

PineappleUpsideDownCake · 01/07/2020 21:49

I dont smell unless sweaty of boob.

I habe dry earwax... off to google.

bonzo77 · 01/07/2020 21:53

I would honk. I’m really a bit stinky. On hot days I wash my pits during the day and re-apply antiperspirant. Even worse just before my period. Some of my clothes still smell after washing. Ugh.

PenelopePitstop49 · 01/07/2020 21:53

I'd smell like a decaying badger.

Big girl who sweats.

Wallywobbles · 01/07/2020 22:19

Rank. Boob BO would be a knock out and the interleg region would be fruity and clammy.

vixxo · 01/07/2020 22:22

Not great, but not totally disgusting either.

Unfortunately my ear wax has the consistency of puree Grin

EngagedAgain · 01/07/2020 22:24

Not too bad, but depends on how much I sweat, which depends on the weather and what I'm doing.

supadupapupascupa · 01/07/2020 22:46

No smell

Sooobooored · 01/07/2020 22:48

Some people are definitely smellier than others. I’ve also got one smelly child and one non-smelly.

isabellerossignol · 01/07/2020 22:50

Not great, but it would depend on what I'd been wearing. Anything polyester and I'd smell pretty grim under the arms within a few hours.

On the other hand if I wore a vest top for 48 hours, I'd hardly smell at all.

Still wouldn't smell inoffensive enough to be going out in public without washing though!

capercaillie · 01/07/2020 23:09

I used to not smell great but switched to earth conscious deodorant and now rarely notice any whiff. Can also wear tops more than one day which I could never do before. Not sure what ear wax type I have!

blueshoes · 01/07/2020 23:22

No smell and I don't use deodorant normally. I can literally go for weeks Blush during covid and dh won't notice.

But I do top and tail because I wash my face/brush my teeth and use a bidet regularly.
