At today's briefing, definitely not himself.

god what else?

Had several extra marital affairs resulting in a number of children (n) where n>1?

PrincessConsuelaVaginaHammock · 16/06/2020 22:42

@Cailleach1

Landslide for the Conservatives only in England. Cons don't have a majority in any other of the 'Nations'. Not even a single seat in Northern Ireland. Truly fractured representation.

Good for the 'experts' on whom the Conservatives showered disrespect.

Even then, from a minority of votes cast. The majority of voters had Johnson's measure already.
YesIDoLoveCrisps · 16/06/2020 22:43

He wants to try living in Poverty not knowing where he next meal is coming from or how he's going to put a decent pair of shoes on his kids feet!!!.

Yes or being a single mum like the mothers of some of his children he’s fucked off and left

annabel85 · 16/06/2020 22:45

@Alsohuman

December 2019 might as well be December 1919. We’re living in a different world now.
That's the excuse for all those here who voted for him but won't own it
SnowBrussels · 16/06/2020 22:47

With Gove, Hunt and Sunak gunning for his job and even the Mail starting to question his ability.

Fosler · 16/06/2020 22:52

What people fail to realise is it's not just him making decisions. He's following advice from his cabinet and from the faceless civil servants, who never change and who are not voted for! From so-called experts, all of whom have their own political agenda.

So, those of you who criticise Boris, what would you do/have done?

Alsohuman · 16/06/2020 22:54

Doesn’t wash though. Hopefully this shitshow will see the end of the Tories in power for a very long time.

He's just an easy target.
SabrinaThwaite · 16/06/2020 22:57

Yeah - remind me, who appointed the Cabinet (who are MPs and are at least voted into Parliament) and Cummings (who is not voted for but was appointed by Johnson himself and is obviously unsackable)?

CeciledeVolanges · 16/06/2020 22:58

Civil servants are neutral. That’s the point of them - ministers make decisions, civil servants try to make it work as best they can.
As for what should have been done - Brexit extension, lock down a week earlier, never mention herd immunity, don’t talk casually about the virus or boast about the country being Superman, sack Cummings when he disobeyed the rules.
To be fair, I wouldn’t run for Prime Minister in the first place because I have enough self-awareness to know I’d probably make a bad one. At least I’m capable of answering questions and being truthful, though.

MrBennsshop · 16/06/2020 23:01

@MotherofPearl

I agree about not calling him Boris, midsomer. It feels a bit like calling Hitler Adolf, as if he's an old pal. Vile.
That's a nonsensical comparison. And hardly 'vile'. Everyone knows him as Boris, yes it's part of a carefully crafted persona, but who calls him Johnson, or even Alexander?

BonnesVacances · 16/06/2020 23:02

When he first got ill I said to myself please don't let him become a poster boy for ME. Fortunately I think he's too work shy to overdo it.

What with that and all the furore concerning Trump's health, it's a worrying time for who is actually running these two countries!

creativecringe · 16/06/2020 23:02

I remember when Theresa May looked like death became her because of running the country. Boris and his gang making her life difficult. Now he knows what it feels like.

Nat6999 · 16/06/2020 23:03

He looks like he needs a good wash, a good haircut & tidying up, he is supposed to be the leader of this country & instead looks like he spends his life rooting in bins.

happinessischocolate · 16/06/2020 23:03

He looked shit at the beginning of the year too

Boris looks ill
FliesandPies · 16/06/2020 23:04

@PrincessConsuelaVaginaHammock
A great big granite anus would be a more suitable PM than Johnson is

A great big granite arse that's been dragged off its pedestal and chucked in a river would be a better PM. Fact!

Not let Dominic Cummings worm his way into a position where I was obliged to undermine confidence in myself and my administration by keeping him on after that rose garden shitshow.
Iggly · 16/06/2020 23:06

He’s the Prime Minister and he makes decisions with advice based on what he wants to be done.

Civil servants don’t present a menu and say “pick the best”. They present what is in keeping with the government of the day.

So if the government wants to carry out a shit response to a pandemic, then the civil servants follow that.

Stop letting him off the hook.

Iggly · 16/06/2020 23:08

As for what I’d have done, I’d have taken a look around at other countries who’ve handled these things before, learned from best practice instead of blithering and acting arrogant as fuck.

Funny that the populist led countries are the ones doing so badly. (Uk, USA, Brazil...)

FliesandPies · 16/06/2020 23:18

I would have started by not lying (eg telling people the the country was 'well prepared' for a pandemic) and then continued by not lying (eg about provision of PPE, provision of testing, protection of care homes). You can get so much more done if you don't waste time lying I find.

Cailleach1 · 16/06/2020 23:18

Yes, how much public money was wasted on that garden bridge proposal? Well someone profited. What would be discovered under that rock? And then savings are to be made at the expense of hungry children.
The past comments about single parents (and much more, I know) when he is a feckless baby daddy himself.
Does anyone really think a proclivity for lies, deceit, meanness and nastiness is to be admired?

Eurgh! Easy target my bottom. Pathetic! If only he was in gov't or even PM? The people who are dead because the elderly were discharged from hospital into block booked places in care homes without any testing. Or the NHS workers weren't given ppe fit for purpose. Policies being made by the shifty, dodgy unelected and unaccountable shadowy spinners who now seem to run the country.

maggienolia · 16/06/2020 23:19

Maybe it's me but I saw the resemblance at today's briefing....

DenboraBidaiari · 16/06/2020 23:22

^I was so surprised to see him today, I thought it was Wednesday^

If he is a barely functioning alcoholic (as was my late DF) I wouldn't be surprised if he had no idea whether it was Tuesday, Wednesday or any other day Hmm

Sostenueto · 16/06/2020 23:22

TBH if he takes to his bed I doubt the country would notice as he's made such a mess of this crisis and decisions are made by his sidekick Cummings anyway so he won't be missed. ( Not by me anyway).
Maybe he looks I'll cos he's only now realised he actually has to do some work now Cummings is lying low?

hotstepper4 · 16/06/2020 23:25

I heard from a reliable source that even when he was in hospital he was still going outside for cigarette breaks
