I need help. It's urgent. Does anyone have any in depth knowledge of booking flights, particularly during covid? Which airlines are flying where and when etc? I promise this is in no way related to holiday or frivolous weddings abroad, it's important. Please PM if you can help

Maybe try the website of airlines that may fly to your destination? Google first.

girlcrushonvillanelle · 12/06/2020 23:36

I doubt you will get people private messaging you for fear of being taken for a ride.

I'm sure if you post where you need to get to and from and when people will help.

BIWI · 12/06/2020 23:37

Where are you trying to fly to (and from)?

Why don't you use Skyscanner or one those sites that check flights from all different companies?

xyzandabc · 12/06/2020 23:40

Look up the website of the airport you need to get to. Look at arrivals and departures for a few different days and that will tell you the airlines that are currently operating in to/out of that airport. Then look at those airlines websites

AmericanAdventure · 12/06/2020 23:41

Skyscanner. Where do you need to get to?

TheTeenageYears · 12/06/2020 23:53

Some third party sites will sell you anything, even now and you then have the hassle of trying to refund so I understand it's not as straightforward as it might seem.

Go to flightconnections.com. It is a worldwide map of all flights. I've just checked what it's showing from where I live to London Heathrow and it lists the airlines flying and under BA says starts in July. So it's partially accurate - they cancelled all flights for July last week. Use it as a starting point to know who usually operates the route you are looking for and then visit the individual airlines websites to see if they are actually flying the route. It will be the most assured option and at least if you book a ticket online via the operating airline it's the simplest way to refund or amend the booking should you need to.

On flightconnections.com you have to specify the airport at each end rather than just the city or Country and may have to do a number of searches if there are a range of airports you can fly from/to. The British Embassy website where I live also gives up to date information on who is still flying. There are however many countries in the world where there are absolutely no commercial flights going in and out but some privately organised repatriation flights. Information on those can often be found on local expat Facebook groups.

It's a small place. There are hardly any flights out as it's a holiday island and they have been closed because of covid. 99% of flights make a stop on the way, we cannot do that stop. We need a direct flight, asap. I do not want this searchable as the urgency is DV. Yes I know people say about identifiable posts., this place is probably as rare as me saying Capri. Really small, not a common place to live. The family members are stirring things up even though there has been a worrying type of violence used. There is a young child in the middle of it. All I would want would be a flight number/try Latvian Airways/Swiss Air start flying again in August type help. Absolutely no selling buying, promotional crap, sob stories or begging. I can pay for the flight (as long as it's not really ridiculous prices), I just have no idea how to find the first one. The normal search website things aren't helping, the only include this bloody change at xxxx country. We can't do that. V

Oh dear God. BA July I was hoping was worse case.

Some places aren't open at all/never have direct flights. I think you're going to need to specify a location if you want any kind of constructive help here.

Lightofthephoenix · 12/06/2020 23:59

British Airways have had a few more flights over the last few days.

Theloftmonster · 13/06/2020 00:02

The last repatriation flight she almost went on. He promised they would go to counselling Sad. I am on the consulate email list. Nothing showing. There really would have been a limit amount of British people wanting to travel anyway. It not tenerife or similar, no expat community

Wizzair are flying. Easy have slowly started up.

Depends on the country really. Not all of them are letting commercial flights in.

Can you get to s as m airport and then take a boat/other transport?

Longdistance · 13/06/2020 00:04

Sorry x post.

TheThingWithFeathers · 13/06/2020 00:07

Are you trying to get someone off this island? If so, what does it matter if there is a transfer as long as they get away? It's hard to understand or help without more information.

Lightofthephoenix · 13/06/2020 00:09

Wizz Air

Theloftmonster · 13/06/2020 00:09

I'm thinking picture less searchable

Trump needs you to have a visa to swap planes at any of his airports

OP posts:
Ipadipod · 13/06/2020 00:12

Is there an embassy that they/you could contact for help ?

Lightofthephoenix · 13/06/2020 00:12

Eurowings

Ipadipod · 13/06/2020 00:13

Where are they flying to ?

Theloftmonster · 13/06/2020 00:14

So the stopovers mean a delay. That is also complicated as the child has a different nationality at the moment than either parent. No Esta possibilities that I can see

OP posts:
Jeremyironsnothing · 13/06/2020 00:14

Are you saying that the stop over would mean he could reach her there when he realises she's gone? Would she be able to take the child?

What about a ferry off the island? Could you meet her there?

listsandbudgets · 13/06/2020 00:15

OP I'm not entirely clear what's happening here.

Are you trying to get someone away from this small place or get them to it? If its away, have you considered contacting the British embassy in whatever country is relevant to see if they can do anything to help on the ground. Whatever is happening and I'm not second guessing, it sounds serious and if it involves a child of British nationality then the embassy may try to help in some way.

I'm sorry it sounds veyr hard and this must be about the worst possible time to book a flight.

listsandbudgets · 13/06/2020 00:16

Sorry lots of cross posting.
