I need help. It's urgent. Does anyone have any in depth knowledge of booking flights, particularly during covid? Which airlines are flying where and when etc? I promise this is in no way related to holiday or frivolous weddings abroad, it's important. Please PM if you can help

First direct ANU-LGW flight is showing as Mon 20th July with British Airways.

OP, your best option if you really need to get away quickly is to charter a private plane. There are loads of small plane companies where you live that would probably be willing to fly at short notice, just search them up and give them a ring.

.this is the sort of info I was after she is young, in pieces, terrified of her child getting covid. I don't know how difficult that journey is. Over to Paris and home is fine. Not sure about the island transfer

Is it possible for you to apply on her behalf for the child's passport in the UK online then post it to a safe location?

Or even not post it but use it for to apply for an esta but continue to fly on other passport? (don't know if that is allowed)

listsandbudgets · 13/06/2020 00:41

There's a British High Commission there... search British High commission - name of island

Look for link to embassypages.com its got a phone number. They only opened it last year.

I've looked, I can't see any direct flights as PPs have said until July. Going through Europe seems a good plan though as avoids Trump land

Could they get on the ferry to the nearby island beginning with B and go to a hotel there for a bit while working out their next step?

AriettyHomily · 13/06/2020 00:43

The embassy or HC will help, assuming the mother is a U.K. passport holder?

Theloftmonster · 13/06/2020 00:46

She is emotionally shattered, she has been told she is risking her child's life flying. I just want her home, not in a hotel, scared with a little one. He is older and manipulative.

Would there be visa issues with the child's passport in Europe? It's the nationality of the island

Am trying to post two screenshots. There is a route to land of clogs and tulips that avoids trumpland. Have found a flight for 27 June but maybe one earlier.

toinfinityandlockdown · 13/06/2020 00:48

^ just in case this provides a lead for temporary help.

Theloftmonster · 13/06/2020 00:49

I really couldn't afford a private charter and I'm not about to do a fund my life crap appeal.

Is there a flight number or anything?

@toinfinityandlockdown - please delete your post and re-post a screenshot. We are all trying so hard not to mention the names of the locations!!!

PineconeOfDoom · 13/06/2020 00:50

Look at the website of the nearest airports to her. They should show which airlines fly where. You may be able to plot a route from that. Or look at boat transfers from her nearest port/marina.

DancingWithTheDevil · 13/06/2020 00:51

If this person who needs to get back to the UK (I assume?) ASAP is a British citizen, contact the Embassy, who might help you find a commercial flight. Or the embassy of the Childs nationality.

I hope someone can help you, OP. This is a bad time to be in a crisis!

Theloftmonster · 13/06/2020 00:53

The island has its own issues. Not all islands are as above board on things than us. It's difficult to know who to trust

Can the Childs mother get to the nearest British embassy or HC/whatever is available? They MAY be able to issue emergency travel documents for the child if they are legally a British citizen by birth. Worth a try.

Theloftmonster · 13/06/2020 00:54

There is no embassy or consulate close enough to help

Theloftmonster · 13/06/2020 00:55

With a British passport you still need an esta and 72 hours notice

AcrossthePond55 · 13/06/2020 00:58

If their lives are at risk then why not go to the police?

AcrossthePond55 · 13/06/2020 01:02

Sorry no. cancel that.
