Agree cattermole esp wrt Cummings. It happened in March but wasn't leaked until May when lockdown was starting to be eased?

Bollss · 08/06/2020 12:24

@Weedsnseeds1 I was just like??? What??? Grin

You can't argue with stupid, as they say!

Bollss · 08/06/2020 12:25

Yes exactly @Cattermole !

LivinLaVidaLoki · 08/06/2020 12:27
@TrustTheGeneGenie it's like Schrodinger's bloody virus isn't it?

You might have it but not know about it. You might not have it.
Until you have the test you wouldn't know whether you had it or not, but there's a chance you won't get the test results back until you haven't got it any more, and once you get the test results back the doctor might decide that the results aren't accurate anyway and that you did have it.

I'm starting to call BS on the data on this one...
Schrodingers Virus 😂😂😂😂

MorrisZapp · 08/06/2020 12:28

This reminds me of the Aids crisis of the 80s. We were terrified of 'dying of ignorance' and told that people who use condoms prevent Aids.

Obviously, condom use is a no brainer for many reasons and is an excellent public health message. Absolutely no argument there.

But even my teenaged self did think 'this condom we just used only prevented the spread of Aids if one of us already has the HIV virus', which I was never convinced was likely.

It's a good message at population level but between individuals it raises the question, if we do x to prevent the spread of x, then it's only meaningful if one of us has x.

Not sure if I'm making my point very well, more of a musing.

Willow2017 · 08/06/2020 12:31

Afternoon all.
Sorry to hear that Trapped its crap. Definately push for JSA though its there to be used.

TrustTheGeneGenie Well of course you can, the virus is lurking in the air 24/7 so just by walking through it you are wafting it all over other people. Its true fact! Somebody said it somewhere!

Great news Rookie i hope all high schools follow. My 15ur old is getting fed up with online work and wants some proper interaction and hands on work. Getting harder to motivate him now despite him usually being very good at homework etc.

Quiet non murdering morning took car to garage for half an hour and went to the post office all very non dementory thank goodness.
Forcing myself to do housework and possibly painting today. Although sun is shining so might go to beach 5 mins away for a paddle.😄

HauntedGoatFart · 08/06/2020 12:31

Welcome @Thighmageddon and congrats on getting back to work Grin

There is a lot of frustration with lockdown building on the site.. maybe now is the time to start pushing more directly for action against it

userxx · 08/06/2020 12:35

We were terrified of 'dying of ignorance' and told that people who use condoms prevent Aids.

Scared the shit out of me those adverts.

Waleshasgonecompletelycrazy · 08/06/2020 12:37

It’s like we’ve never dealt with a virus before. I get it’s new and scary but the prevalence is so low now surely adults keeping a bit of distance and hand washing will keep the beloved R number under control.

I wonder what the next cause if the second wave will be if there’s not one after easing and protests? Children existing? Single mothers? Smiling? There’s always some new thing to write terrible poetry/draw shit pictures and scream stay the fuck at home at people. Talk about fiddling while Rome burns

I'm fucking sick of covid poetry.

dkl55 · 08/06/2020 12:40

I think o saw that one @genie. Was quite funny although also very annoying. Another decent favourite was someone accusing another regular poster here of being the Boris 😂😂

dkl55 · 08/06/2020 12:40

Boris even... though I can imagine he might call himself The Boris.

Thisdressneedspockets · 08/06/2020 12:42

@MorrisZapp, they now think the spermicide that condoms were treated with could make people more susceptible to aids.

Cattermole · 08/06/2020 12:42

I always think of Boris the Blade Dodger in Lock Stock & Two Smoking Barrels Grin
DON'T TAKE THE PISS BORIS!!!!

Cattermole · 08/06/2020 12:42

I lie. It was "Snatch".

No new deaths in Scotland for the second day in a row... how is NS spinning it today?

bakingcupcakes · 08/06/2020 13:00

@Dowser To be honest it's the bird seed thing that's really done me. I can accept we can't have the craft room, shop or cafe. To a lesser extent I can accept that play areas (in general) are shut but when I realised we wouldn't even be able to feed the birds that really pissed me off. It really is sucking the fun out of everything. There's little difference between us walking there or the woods now.

Nihiloxica · 08/06/2020 13:02

No new deaths in Scotland for the second day in a row.

Is death still permanent?

I think until we see the first resurrections we need to stay locked down.

CAN'T BE TOO CAREFUL

justasking111 · 08/06/2020 13:10

Wales - the deluded sh1t Drakeford saying 5 mile radius stays, hotels closed, holiday let type places allowed but when you get here stay local. How the heck can national outlets like Debenhams survive on 5 mile radius customers if they choose to re-open.

He was rabbiting on about the second wave this autumn plus flu would mean nightingale hospitals would be needed.

Well if we are all gloved, masked and within five miles where is the flu coming from the fecking rain that falls on us!!!

SudokuBook · 08/06/2020 13:10

Great news @Thighmageddon I wouldn’t wish shitty redundancy on anyone despite going through it now myself so I’m pleased for you

witchofthenorth · 08/06/2020 13:13

Hello my lovely people, I have found you at last! I've had enough, I called fuck it and started visiting my mum a few weeks ago. Still having a wobble about my work and what the actual fuck I am going to do as we have been shafted and mental health is on the decline, but by Christ I just want to do my own risk assessment and get back to living.

Coronavirus: Children in Wales 'worried' about education in pandemic.

While 84% of 12 to 18-year-olds said they felt safe, 54% said they were worried about their education.

...
Ms Holland said many children and young people who completed the survey wanted more face-to-face contact with teachers.

...

three-quarters of Year 6 pupils said they wanted to visit their new secondary school before starting in September, while 76% said they wanted to say goodbye to their old primary school.

Pretty much in line with my chldren's views they said they put down.

bakingcupcakes · 08/06/2020 13:18

@trappedsincesundaymorn Sorry to hear about your job. It's really rubbish.

@Thighmageddon Welcome to the thread. If you do model your mask for the announcement make sure its appropriately worn ie not covering your nose or around your chin just for the added risk! Grin

Great to hear some of the kids are going back to school. About time too. I wish DS was.

Teateaandmoretea · 08/06/2020 13:18

No new deaths in Scotland for the second day in a row... how is NS spinning it today?

She must be bricking it

Librarybooksandacoconut · 08/06/2020 13:20

I feel a little bit more positive as NS has said that they are looking to move to phase 2 on the 18th which means playgrounds can open! Plus we can go in someone’s house and have small gatherings outside. It’s DS’s 5th birthday on the 20th and I’m really hoping he can play in our local playground with a friend or two then come back to ours for cake with my parents. Fuck it’s so depressing that these seems like the most amazing thing you can have for a 5th birthday party.
