I'll start:
The food at IKEA. Especially the over hyped meatballs!
Cheap crap!

OP posts:
Emmapeeler1 · 06/06/2020 14:52

I've been to Glastonbury twice (all weekend camping) and it's on my list.

Emmapeeler1 · 06/06/2020 14:54

Agree about cupcakes! I am a member of the fairycake preservation society.

LadyEloise · 06/06/2020 15:05

Shakespeare

Runs and hides

FrizzEase - it doesn't!!!

aintnothinbutagstring · 06/06/2020 15:09

Orlando, unattractive, cultureless money pit
On that note, theme parks
On a similar note, zoos
Nandos
Obsession with coffee, coffee shops, coffee machines
Sushi

aintnothinbutagstring · 06/06/2020 15:11

Oh forgot more
Afternoon tea
Amateur cake makers

lilgreen · 06/06/2020 18:12

Yes to afternoon tea. Totally over-hyped. It’s just sandwiches and cake!!!!

lilgreen · 06/06/2020 18:15

Take That.

What else would it be? I like afternoon tea somewhere special, it’s better than going out for dinner for me.
lilgreen · 06/06/2020 21:35

Yes but people talk about it like it’s special. Sandwiches and cake with tea is not special.

00100001 · 06/06/2020 21:38

But then of you think like that... nothing is special?
lilgreen · 06/06/2020 21:51

This thread is full of things people think is not amazing- it’s the idea of the thread you see. Hmm

00100001 · 06/06/2020 21:59

Yeah but I mean ... If we just refer to afternoon tea as sandwiches, cake and tea. Then what food/activity IS special?

Christmas dinner? Nah. Justna roast with a crackers.

Birthday tea party? Ehhh it's just sandwiches, cake and crisps....

Take away pizza? Just dough, tomato sauce and cheese

Steak and champagne? Just a slice of beef and somefizzy wine....

...or whatever your special meal/event is. It could be broken down and bit be special.

lilgreen · 06/06/2020 22:01

Are you going to go through all the posts on this thread and point out why you think they’re wrong?

Troels · 06/06/2020 22:46

Starbucks
Costa
Beer of any kind
Celebrities in general especially the instagram type ones and those who haven't actually got a talent like acting or singing or music.

Inappropriatefemale · 07/06/2020 03:16

To the pp that called First Dates fake, how very dare you?! It’s so not fake and one of my fave shows ever.Grin

MrsAvocet · 07/06/2020 03:34

Niagara Falls
Most alcohol but especially red wine
Anything Disney
All theme parks
Coffee
Pantomimes

Tavannach · 07/06/2020 05:16

I haven't actually read Pride and Prejudice purely because I really hate it when things get too big.

ShockI can't believe this - it's "too big" for a reason. One of my favourite comfort books.
Totally agree about the meatballs though.

Leflic · 07/06/2020 07:21

Starbucks - disgusting coffee, and the shops always reek of milk on the turn. This but also any frothed milk. I can’t even drink pasteurised milk let alone horrid milk boiled in front of me. Cold and fresh milk is acceptable.

Also agreeing with tea, Nando’s ,Autumn, Venice and Judi Dench.

Putting in “Its a Wonderful Life“. Painful.

Having a late lie in. I find them quite stressful and clock watch. I’m ok waking up early and lying in bed till 7.30 though.

...no.

Nevermind.

lotusbell · 07/06/2020 08:16

I think people are missing the point if the thread! Grin it's just turned into lists of what people don't like or see the point in.
No.one has claimed a lot of these things are amazing, such as people not social distancing !

Throughabushbackwards · 07/06/2020 08:17

Camber Sands. What a shithole.

Alleycat1 · 07/06/2020 08:44

Carcassonne. Oldest fortified town in Europe, my arse! It was totally rebuilt in the 1800s and resembles a very tacky Diagon Alley. Never been so disappointed.
Reality TV and talent shows.
The skin on custard or rice pudding. Some people seem to love it!
Venice. Stinks.
Stonehenge. Waste of time since the stones were roped off.
Paris. Shame as it really used to be amazing. Now full of litter and pickpockets.
Hershey chocolate.. Another disappointment after hearing its praises sung by American friends.

LadyEloise · 07/06/2020 09:43

Things I have taken from this thread:

".....I've seen Tupperware with more personality."

On Centre Parc swimming pools - "the human soup called the pool."

On Starbucks ".......... and the shops always reek of milk on the turn."

I knew they smelled but could never pin it down - now I recognise it. Brilliant.

The above are so Grin

Delatron · 07/06/2020 09:44

New York
YSL Touché Eclat
Autumn
Prosecco (Cava much nicer and drier)

lilgreen · 07/06/2020 09:50

Yes to Cava being way superior to Prosecco!
