Did anyone actually put cheese in their coffee?

At peak pandemic Mumsnet, some posters were screeching that leaving the house to buy milk for hot drinks was NOT ESSENTIAL and to put cheese in your coffee / tea instead.

Or freeze ice cubes of milk in the fridge instead so you never run out of of milk because going to the supermarket is MURDERING people.

Did anybody actually do this or did we continue to be normal people and pop out to buy milk?

😂

I'd love that idiot to come back now
Bet they're cringing
Or maybe they're still a sanctimonious idiot

StirlingWork · 25/05/2020 11:02

Oh gosh no!!!! I'd rather drink black tea/coffee!!!!

Hobnobswantshernameback · 25/05/2020 11:06

Some of the utter bollocks that was spouted on here the first few weeks of lockdown
The nonsensical hysteria
Bet a few of those posters were the first to cave and break their ridiculous invented roolz whilst those of us who took a pragmatic sensible "long game " approach are still plodding in a sensible decent way

Pelleas · 25/05/2020 11:07

I consider myself an adventurous eater but the thought of that makes me boak.

Comingoutontop123 · 25/05/2020 11:09

No. But I did commit murder by buying non-essential items.

Oh and I sat on a bench too Smile

TheMandalorian · 25/05/2020 11:10

Probably the same posters now 'reporting' on their neighbours and friends.

NotKeenOnSwede · 25/05/2020 11:11

I went to my local one stop to buy a minty aero. There. I've admitted it.

Trevsadick · 25/05/2020 11:13

I was on that thread when that was posted.

I was fucking speechless.

This place was insane.

Including this gem several things made you a murderer. Buying Easter eggs, hair dye, hot cross buns all meant you killed several thousand people.

Then there was the 'people who didnt bake before lockdown shojdlnt bake now....they will get it wrong....its a waste and theres not enough flour for me to make 10 cakes a day'

The whole 'thats not essential food' argument, was hilarious.

Its calmed down now, but theres still some of them around.

Hobnobswantshernameback · 25/05/2020 11:14

Bet that poster is still sat at home with binoculars poking out from behind the curtains reporting their neighbours for breathing whilst sucking gruel through a straw

Trevsadick · 25/05/2020 11:15

oh and the poster that said sotying in a bench in the park was selfish and spreading covid. People needed them for more 'virtuous' things such as box jumps and tricep dips Hmm

Okrightbut · 25/05/2020 11:16

That sounds rank. Just drink it black! The hysterical posts on here pre lockdown and a few weeks in were quite something. I'd be interested to know what those people are thinking now. Not that it's all over by any means just not quite the apocalypse people were going for.

Hobnobswantshernameback · 25/05/2020 11:18

I think some of them will be bitterly disappointed
They were practically orgasmic at the thought of Armageddon

BirdieFriendReturns · 25/05/2020 11:19

I went out to buy Easter eggs, i was called a murderer on here. Still went out to buy them though!

What gets me is how an anonymous person on a forum expects that shrieking at other anonymous people will get them to do things! Nope, still went out to buy milk and chocolate.

Cheese? In coffee? What kind of cheese?

I’d this like Nigella’s ham in cola?

Trevsadick · 25/05/2020 11:23

I went out to buy Easter eggs, i was called a murderer on here. Still went out to buy them though!

When ghis was discussed at the time I had several posters saying 'just go get eatser eggs if you want them

I was like 'wtf? Already got them....why would you assume I took notice of a screaming banshee on mn?'

I can only assume some people do, pay far too much attention to what's written on here.

MissJaneLockland · 25/05/2020 11:25

I went to my local one stop to buy a minty aero. There. I've admitted it.

To put in your tea? ShockGrin

Comingoutontop123 · 25/05/2020 11:25

I also remember the poster called a selfish cunt, idiot, murderer etc for leaving some brownies on a friends doorstep Hmm .And the poster told not to pick up much needed baby things from her parents who were going to leave them on their drive, because it wasn't an essential journey and you can easily make a cot out of a drawer for a newborn.

Probably the same posters that are currently predicting the collapse of the government and society as a whole because an advisor went to see their Mum.

Lordfrontpaw · 25/05/2020 11:28

What kind of cheese? Now I definitely believe to a lot of food can be improved by adding cheese - but I’m not sold of fromagachino.

saffy1234 · 25/05/2020 11:34

They are reading this post now with parmesan on their cornflakes.....

princesstwinkle · 25/05/2020 11:35

As much as that poster was crazy she didn't say put cheese in coffee.

A poster said her little one would get the calcium because they wouldn't have milk for them to drink. The poster then said they could have cheese instead of milk.

There was no mention of substituting cheese for milk in a tea or a coffee

Lordfrontpaw · 25/05/2020 11:37

Doesn’t everyone have an old can of Marvel in the back of their cupboards anyway? And a few UHT milk sticks in their handbags from visits for the IKEA cage?

CovidicusRex · 25/05/2020 11:39

I do routine put cream in my coffee. Not because of lockdown (have pretty much ignored the rules and acted as I would see fit) but just because I’m a fatty (not actually fat, see above).

janet1267 · 25/05/2020 11:42

Someone on a local FB page called people possible murderers for putting the top down on a convertible car and said that the police had said it was an offence.

BirdieFriendReturns · 25/05/2020 11:43

There was a poster on here who was “literally sobbing and shaking” at the thought of someone daring to go to a supermarket for a chocolate bar.
