At peak pandemic Mumsnet, some posters were screeching that leaving the house to buy milk for hot drinks was NOT ESSENTIAL and to put cheese in your coffee / tea instead.

Or freeze ice cubes of milk in the fridge instead so you never run out of of milk because going to the supermarket is MURDERING people.

Did anybody actually do this or did we continue to be normal people and pop out to buy milk?

😂

Someone has actually posted this on another thread today:

Sending chocolates is like killing someone!!!

Trevsadick · 25/05/2020 16:57

iklboo please tell me they are joking?

MeAgain2020 the whole essential list was funny. Especially since no one could point to an essentials list.

That one went hand on hand with 'the police will search your shopping bags' based on a couple of policemen, posting stupid shit on twitter. Too many people couldn't grasp that one person tweeting something doesnt make it the law or that its happening, regardless of their job.

The best one was 'one policeman tweeted that they stopped someone who was going for crisps only....how did they know if they didnt search their bag'.

Who the fuck buys a packet of crisps and puts them in a shopping bag. Besides which the tweet said they had spoke to However he said he was going for crisps. But the hysterical posters, couldn't comprehend that

those MNetters are all too busy spying on their neighbours in order to be able to report them to be silly about non essential aero purchasing.

and YES someone did say sending chocolates was like killing someone.

Butter whisked into coffee is gorgeous.
Very filling.

Kerrygold butter is massive in the US because of this health trend.

ChocolatelyAsFuck · 25/05/2020 17:16

See? There are at least four different varieties of cheese which have been deemed essential, so you’ll have plenty for your tea.

Mrs Beeton suggests whisking a raw egg into tea or coffee as a nutritious alternative to milk.

TwigTheWonderKid · 25/05/2020 17:20

Maybe the poster who suggested the cheese in coffee was from Finland? Because look what I saw on the menu at a local restaurant when I was there this winter.
