Something just moved in my stomach..

I’ve name changed for this.

Something literally just rolled in my stomach, there was a popping sensation and now I swear I have a bump where I didn’t before. Nothing that strange until I mention that I’ve not had sex since November and I’ve had periods since then. But something is moving in my stomach, and not like trapped wind. I’ll get out for a test first thing, but I surely can’t be that many weeks pregnant and not have had a single symptom till now, surely? Please someone tell me I can’t.

Just read the thread and wanted to say that my Mum at the age of 22 and with an 18" waist was told by her GP "don't be a silly girl, you are not pregnant". She walked in with me a few months later. She'd had every period for 6 months and had 36" hips the day she had me.

I hope this is what you want OP, and are happy and able. All the best.

ScarfLadysBag · 25/05/2020 13:09

Bloody hell, OP. Congratulations (if appropriate).

I think in your shoes I would pay for a private scan ASAP rather than waiting for the NHS pathway to rumble into life, just to get an idea of how far along I was, etc.You can probably get one same or next day. And yes, definitely get in touch with midwives right now and get yourself registered!

ElectricTonight · 25/05/2020 13:09

Oh wow!!! Don't worry about not shielding as I take it you haven't had or got the virus, take care joe OP x

Wow! Congrats

First things first, take 10 mins to get over the shock.

Then please call the doctor and get a referral to your midwife

Explain everything and hopefully they will push a scan as quick as they can do they can see exactly how far along you are and when you’re due

ElectricTonight · 25/05/2020 13:09

Now not Joe 🤦🏻‍♀️

Solo · 25/05/2020 13:11

*Sorry, I meant able to cope/deal with the situation etc. I hope your circumstances are good.

thomaszthetank · 25/05/2020 13:11

Wow! Congratulations op!
Amazing surprise baby!

justasking111 · 25/05/2020 13:11

Ah I was 20 weeks when I was told a baby was on the way, big shock. A lady who joined slimming world had the shame shock she had only joined to lose weight. She was 36 weeks when she found out.

nasalspray · 25/05/2020 13:12

As if I was thinking 'OMG it will just be gas' as I read the OP Blush

Congratulations Thanks

OnlyJudyCanJudgeMe · 25/05/2020 13:12

Congratulations & good luck!

saylor · 25/05/2020 13:12

That's nuts OP! Congratulations 🌟

I'm always amazed at women who don't realise they're pregnant for months and months but I know that it does happen.

Are you overweight? Do you have a bump?

Graphista · 25/05/2020 13:15

When I was in hospital to have dd I had someone in next bed who'd found out the week earlier she was pregnant - she was 36 weeks gone.

A neighbour who already had 2 was trying for no 3, or so she thought, I saw her at nursery one day, very slim lady not a hint of a bump, then saw her a few days later and she'd had no 3 on her bathroom floor having gone into Labour with no previous symptoms of pregnancy inc having periods throughout. Total shock for her and her dh.

It's relatively rare but it does happen.

It could also be an unusual (for you) presentation of gas, or constipation.

Thisismytimetoshine · 25/05/2020 13:15

Well now. There's a twist...

Talcott2007 · 25/05/2020 13:15

Oh my goodness. I can't imagine how much you will have to process right now. What a shock! Congratulations of course! Dont beat yourself up about what ifs around shielding etc.

Most important thing is getting yourself into the maternity system so you get some support asap - as unusual as your situation is they will have come across this before so will be best placed to advise and make sure you and baby are OK.

TwistyHair · 25/05/2020 13:16

Congratulations. Hope you’re ok with it.

AmICrazyorWhat2 · 25/05/2020 13:17

OMG, I was also convinced it was trapped wind. Blush

What a shok, OP, I hope you're feeling OK.

ladymary86 · 25/05/2020 13:18

Omg I was just going to post to say wind then I saw your update. Wow!

Graphista · 25/05/2020 13:19

Posted before I read update d'oh!

Well looks like you have some planning to do. Congratulations.

Ohshitx · 25/05/2020 13:24

I’m not obese, well I wouldn’t say so. I’m a size 18 but today I’m wearing the same size 18 skinny jeans and top that fitted me last month.

I’m 30 this year. I’m not with the dad, it’s a friends
with benefits situation that’s obv been put on hold because of lockdown. So that’ll be a conversation.

Poetryinaction · 25/05/2020 13:26

I think you had better phone your local midwife team.

Spacecudet · 25/05/2020 13:27

Hope you are okay OP. What a shock!
I must be the exact opposite of you. A colleague asked me if I was pregnant at 5 weeks gone, I had only found out myself a couple of days earlier.

insancerre · 25/05/2020 13:29

Wow
Didn’t expect that
Congratulations

IloveParmaViolets · 25/05/2020 13:31

Wow! Congratulations, wishing you all the best.

Awwlookatmybabyspider · 25/05/2020 13:31

Congratulations. Flowers and a Bear for the baby. I can't imagine how shocked you are, though.

Calyx72 · 25/05/2020 13:35

Congratulations Thanks
I hope all goes well
