Aaesop! It's to die for but so expensive I couldn't actually buy it.

EdwardsNewJumper · 23/05/2020 22:48

Liberty own brand, £6.95 a bar. Fig is my favourite. Large block and very long lasting. Lots of delicious scents, fig is my favourite. Pack of three for £18 usually, though can only find individual bars at the moment.

Did I mention fig is my favourite? Grin

Grandadwasthatyou · 23/05/2020 22:52

Agree with Aesop. I only have it because I was given it as a lock down gift and it's kept in my en suite so the dc can't use it!

I'd stick with what we normally get. It's a glycerine soap from a farmers market stall, for the princely sum of £1 a bar. My favourite is the rose geranium which is made with essential oil. Fortunately they're doing postal orders, DH ordered a load as they're the only soap he's found which doesn't set off his eczema.

(And rose geranium hand wash too...£3)

Pear's. I love the smell of it. But then, I love the smell of Dettol so I'm not the best person to ask.

We've tried out almost every brand stocked by Sainsbury's and Waitrose since the panic buying in the shops started and we've had to buy whatever they have left. Definitely Pear's all the way.

Happy with the Aldi fragrance ones. £2

Gazelda · 23/05/2020 23:08

Great thread - I'm on the lookout for some fab soap that's eco friendly, long lasting and smells/feels divine.

I got a couple of huge bars at Kew Gardens a few months ago - such great quality and a price I'd happily pay again but I don't know when I'll be able to go back to their gift shop.

Oud wood and Bergamo Baylis & Harding

Because it exactly matches the decor on the downstairs loo

Roger & Gallet Bois d'orange
in the bathroom for me

Waitrose's sensitive skin
for DH in the en-suite.

I do at least appreciate how lucky I am.

pinkcarpet · 23/05/2020 23:13

Glasgow Soap Company make lovely colourful bars, with fragrances like gin and tonic, irn bru, or rhubarb and ginger. They are vegan with biodegradable wrapping. I buy them 4 at a time on etsy and always get cheered up when its time to open a new one.

TheHighestSardine · 23/05/2020 23:15

Standard Simple bar soap, same as always. Can't bear smelly soap, it lingers for hours.

KenDodd · 23/05/2020 23:15

Oh God I'm so boring, I'd be such a rubbish millionaire. I'd buy whatever soap was on the supermarket shelves. It'd be a bar of soap as trying to reduce plastic bottle use but beyond that, whatever was on special offer. My house guests must be very unimpressed!

Xiaoxiong · 23/05/2020 23:16

Diptyque!

panicstationsready · 23/05/2020 23:22

Dove. I have been alternating between that and liquid soap since lockdown but the liquid soap turns my hands in to sandpaper. Dove can be used everywhere and is a really reasonable price. Why pay more for something no better - you'll never become a millionaire that way...
