How keen are you to go to the beauty salon?

When they open again, will you be the first through the doors or are you reluctant to risk it? The only treatments I routinely have are eyebrow waxing and facials - pretty hard to social distance! I'm desperate to go but at the same time don't want someone who's been in close contact with lots of randomers breathing straight into my face!

I'll be first in line. Not because of my hair. It's always a mess, haircut or not. But because my friend opened her own salon about 3 weeks before lockdown and she needs the support.

tass1960 · 19/05/2020 17:50

@Lairiefairycake - what root touch up did you use please?

EdersonsSmileyTattoo · 19/05/2020 18:00

I’m desperate for hair cut, colour and highlights, then eyebrows and a facial and then a gel manicure and pedicure! Oh, and a sunbed (don’t judge, it helps with my Psoriasis!)

AuntieMarys · 19/05/2020 18:14

My lovely hairdresser made up my root tint and left it on the doorstep with a tinting brush. Great present!

@Glitterb thank you Smile

tass1960 · 19/05/2020 20:40

Thanks - I'll have a look. I have a full head tint and highlights so am not sure if that will work.

Inspiralcarpetry · 19/05/2020 20:44

Yes! My lovely beautician friend texted me yesterday and offered me first refusal for any slots in their hoped for re-opening in July.
Keeping fingers crossed it is possible - for me as I'd love a pamper and for her to try and keep her business afloat. I know it's not important in the swing of things, but it would be a bit of welcome normality to look forward to.
A haircut would be lovely too, but ok I guess now it can go in a ponytail.

StillMedusa · 19/05/2020 21:07

Last haircut was January and then I trimmed my own fringe which was a mistake... now have a wonky fringe down to my nose and very straggly hair, so I will be very happy when the hairdressers are up and running.
I've never had any other treatments and happily pluck my own eyebrows so it's just the hair! I am very thankful I decided to grow out my grey ..it's long and a bit witchy but no roots.

bengalcat · 19/05/2020 21:12

Yes need / want eyebrow tint , wax , Botox and miss my weekly / fortnightly blowdry .

skinnyhotchoc · 19/05/2020 21:20

I've already paid for my hairdresser to buy the hair in for new extensions. Very desperate

Chochito · 19/05/2020 21:50

I'm abroad. We can go the hairdresser for cuts now. The police have to inspect the set up before the salon is allowed to open, and it's authorised person a certain number of people.

The salon is very empty. They have rearranged it all and there are markings on the floor. When you arrive you put your belongings in a binbag and then put the binbag on a personal shelf (like a locker without a door). Then you wash your hands.

4 clients max. at a time in this particular salon, 2 downstairs and 2 upstairs, and 4 stylists. Each stylist has their own client, no mixing. One client and stylish at the sinks at once.

Obviously everyone wears a mask, the stylists also wear a visor that they disinfect between clients, and a disposable apron, one per client. Instead of a cape you wear a disposable wrapper. Used towels go in a letterbox style bin.

No magazines, no products, nothing out on surfaces. The stylists fetch the products they need from a cupboard, each stylist has their own.

Everything is swept, mopped and wiped almost non stop. The 4 clients leave together and then they clean up before the next 4 come.

I am happy as I finally got my hair cut and love it now.

I would really like a bikini wax but they're not open yet.

Nicknacky · 19/05/2020 21:55

Chochito Can you have a phone or a kindle with you? I

Mum2jenny · 19/05/2020 21:55

Not that bothered. Hair can get cut once/twice a year. The rest I can do myself. So I’ll not be first in any queue!!

userxx · 19/05/2020 21:58

I can't wait to go.

ODFOx · 19/05/2020 22:21

My youngest cut mine at the weekend. It's a bit uneven but I've paid for worse and I'm quite pleased with it: tidy enough for WebEx and Skype meetings anyway.
I suspect the Teen/adult dc are very much more concerned about good quality haircuts !

cravingthelook · 19/05/2020 22:23

Eyebrows, eyelashes, waxing, nails will all be done ASAP. Haircut straight after 😂

speakout · 19/05/2020 22:25

I am quite keen- I have a £300 voucher to spend.

BillyAndTheSillies · 19/05/2020 22:31

My hairdresser put out a post on social media to say they hope to open in July and they were taking bookings so I provisionally booked for a colour refresh and a cut.

This time has taught me that after 10 years of acrylics on my nails I'm fine without them and probably won't go back to having them done every three weeks any more.

Miss my lashes and waxing though! The lady that does it is self employed, renting a room in a salon so I'll continue to support her and will book as soon as she's reopen.

I like the social aspect of it and a few hours of peace doing something just for me instead of running around after the DC.

Hedgehog44 · 19/05/2020 22:32

I need a hairdresser! Dodgy dye job. I can do my own nails though. Prefer a tache wax time doing it myself. Have been plucking away!

Jupiters · 19/05/2020 22:38

Very keen! I've for a full set of eyelashes booked in for the 4th of July (salon is taking bookings, but cancelling them as they go along). Don't know if they will actually open then, pure speculation, but I've got my appointment just in case.
This is the first time in about 4 years I've not had eyelash infills.
Will be booking in for an eyebrows wax as soon as they reopens as well.

IcedPurple · 19/05/2020 22:42

I do my own hair colour and I have straight shoulder length hair which doesn't look radically different if it hasn't been cut for a few months.

However, I'd love to get my nails done. My natural nails are like paper and getting nail extensions with lovely colours is my personal luxury.

Mascotte · 19/05/2020 22:43

Very keen! Nails...

Mascotte · 19/05/2020 22:44

And hairdresser obviously

Bellybootcut · 19/05/2020 22:45

I think I'll wait for the initial rush to die down then make a day if it.
Hair cut and colour, eyebrows, nails and pedicure. Bit of make up shopping. Lunch and cocktails.
Can't wait.
