How keen are you to go to the beauty salon?

When they open again, will you be the first through the doors or are you reluctant to risk it? The only treatments I routinely have are eyebrow waxing and facials - pretty hard to social distance! I'm desperate to go but at the same time don't want someone who's been in close contact with lots of randomers breathing straight into my face!

I've grown out my acrylics after 20 YEARS with no break. Actually quite like the natural look for now...

But would like to get my brows and bush seen to ASAP.

MitziK · 19/05/2020 06:59

Oh, how I wish I could go now.

Manicure, Pedicure, eyebrows and lip and chin, hair - as I've managed to save about £800 over the period from not going to work, shopping or gym membership, I could quite easily go for the lot, not worry about the cost at all and still have spare cash knocking around.

Doowop20 · 19/05/2020 07:00

I can live without beauty treatments as not going anywhere and even after lockdown there will be no big nights out or get togethers for a long time.

Never had my eyebrows done (they don’t grow,) I have occasionally had eyelashes done but can save them for special events and I can do my nails myself if I want to.

I definitely need a hairdresser though.

Waxonwaxoff0 · 19/05/2020 07:00

I'll be straight there. I get my hair done, HD eyebrows and acrylic nails. This is the first time in 7 years that I've had no acrylic nails on and I hate how my hands look without them.

HelloDulling · 19/05/2020 07:04

Eyebrows and hair as soon as I can, I’d love a massage too.

I might leave my nails. Have had a gel manicure every three weeks for the last decade, and have surprised myself by being fine with the natural look. (I will probably be the first on the phone when they open back up).

First through the door
Have already agreed with my hairdresser that she will see me the first day she is open
Beautician not taking calls yet
I am a 40 year old professional woman,I need to look (a lot ) better than I do !!

Glitterb · 19/05/2020 07:05

I miss my acrylics but I’m unsure if I will be going back, I bought a gel nail kit and it has taken a while to get the knack of it. I also quite like the extra £60 a month!

But we will see as I do miss them!

Dying to get to hairdresser for colour and cut, and to get eyebrows threaded and bikini line waxed

You people who have never been to a salon, do you cut your own hair?

CeeceeBloomingdale · 19/05/2020 07:11

As keen as I was before, so not at all.

Teenangels · 19/05/2020 07:13

I have it all planned...

Gel nails and pedi, in the morning.
Massage, eyebrow wax, tint and eyelashes and facial. Botox top up.

Finally
My hair cut and coloured I am then going to go out I don't care where even if it's just to the bloody supermarket.

HasaDigaEebowai · 19/05/2020 07:18

I only have hair highlighted and botox, no stuff like nails etc but Im not really bothered. It helps that my hair is long and balayaged and so that's ideal for missing a few appointments. My lines aren't as bad as I thought they'd be and so the botox can wait.

Doowop20 · 19/05/2020 07:32

Well I assume a beauty salon is different from a hairdresser.

Anotherlovelybitofsquirrel · 19/05/2020 07:40

@Glitterb please can you tell me which kit you bought?

I need my Botox topped up, nails and highlights done but I can cope not coping without Botox

WoollyFoolly · 19/05/2020 07:43

I've cut my hair myself into a shortish crop. It's a style I have had for years but had a longer Bob for a while and wanted to get back to it. I figured I'd seen a hairdresser do it so many times I could replicate it myself. Looks pretty good and I'm happy with it. I already had hairdressing scissors and have curly hair which is very forgiving to cut. I'm so pleased with it I will probably do it myself at least half of the time in future.

Apart from that, I only went occasionally anyway, so in no rush for anything.

Poetryinaction · 19/05/2020 07:47

I last went to one before my wedding. 7 years ago. Had a bikini wax. Found it excruciating and embarrassing. Never again.

coronabeer23 · 19/05/2020 07:52

Gel nails on hands and feet, roots, cut, blow dry and I’ll be happy. I’ll be first through the door

BruceAndNosh · 19/05/2020 07:52

And I won’t get my colour done if the rumours are true about not being able to take in a phone, kindle etc
Where did you read this rumour and what was the rationale behind it?

CurlyEndive · 19/05/2020 07:54

The only thing I do is get my hair dyed. It's looking a bit grey now but I'm not in a huge rush to get it sorted.

DeadButDelicious · 19/05/2020 07:55

I need my hair cut, my eyebrows dealt with and I quite fancy some nail extensions now DD is out of nappies. All of this will be happening just as soon as it possibly can.

Glitterb · 19/05/2020 07:59

@Anotherlovelybitofsquirrel I got a cheap starter kit from sensationail, it’s not the best though but has done the job. I will invest in a Mylee one if I don’t go back to a salon though!

ExpletiveDelighted · 19/05/2020 08:00

I had my hair cut just before lockdown and would have had it cut again last week normally but I was looking at some old photos of it longer and think I'll grow it again. I normally get gel nails for Christmas but that's all so no rush back for me.

TSSDNCOP · 19/05/2020 08:15

I cannot wait to get to the hairdresser. I will happily mask up, I'll wash and blow dry myself and she can go at warp speed.

alwayscrashinginthesamecar1 · 19/05/2020 08:23

My hairdresser opened a few weeks ago, (I'm not in the UK). It was pretty surreal, every other seat was empty and there were no magazines! But it was great to get my highlights done again, so glad I didn't have to use the emergency box dye I bought! Beauty salons and nail bars are all still closed though, so will have to wait another three weeks or so for a much needed pedi, as my heels are cracked to bits. Although I did discover a great spray on thing for cracked heels. so I'm not as desperate as I was, although the chipped shellac isn't the best look.

Bargainhuntbore · 19/05/2020 08:37

My nails need doing. Brows need waxing and tinting and i need a lip and chin wax.

I only have my hair done once every 18 months as its a mass of curls so doesn’t need doing.

SinglePringle · 19/05/2020 08:41

I’ve emailed my hairdresser, manicurist and facialist and asked them to just book me in - they can just assume I’ll make it! I’ll be sleeping outside the hairdressers if necessary. Want my roots done, my brows, a facial and my nails (do my own waxing and pedicure).

Cannot. Wait.
