How keen are you to go to the beauty salon?

When they open again, will you be the first through the doors or are you reluctant to risk it? The only treatments I routinely have are eyebrow waxing and facials - pretty hard to social distance! I'm desperate to go but at the same time don't want someone who's been in close contact with lots of randomers breathing straight into my face!

I have mid-length curly(ish) hair, which I have trimmed and coloured every 6 weeks; my last appointment was due the week they started lockdown, so it's now 12 weeks overdue. I look like a two-tone haystack!

Supermarketworker06 · 19/05/2020 08:55

I can't have acrylic nails, or indeed nail polish in my job so that's out.
I have such pale eyebrows I've never plucked them.
My friend is a hairdresser and she cuts my hair but obviously not now, so I've done it myself twice. (Note, I've got wavy/ curly hair, very forgiving!) I don't colour my hair and I don't even own a hairdryer.

Nicknacky · 19/05/2020 09:13

BruceAndNosh I’m friends with several hairdressers on facebook and they have all been sharing articles saying similar versions to that.

I hope it’s just scaremongering as I don’t fancy staring at a mirror for two hours thinking how ugly I am😂

Strugglingtodomybest · 19/05/2020 09:16

I was thinking last night that I'm looking forward to a massage, but other than that, there's nothing I'm desperate for.

PatchworkElmer · 19/05/2020 09:21

I’ve managed to tint my own eyebrows and sort my waxing myself, so I will stay away from the beautician for a while yet. I normally have gel nails done too, but I am actually enjoying having them natural at the moment.

I’m desperate for a haircut but I won’t rush back as I’m higher risk, and it’ll almost certainly be really busy despite social distancing... have paid out for some decent hair are products to try and keep it in decent condition into the winter. I’ve also bought some hairdressing scissors to trim split ends as and when. I don’t colour my hair though- I think I’d be more likely to risk going back sooner if I did.

tinkywinkyshandbag · 19/05/2020 09:21

I literally never go to beauty salons, but I'm looking forward to a haircut!

homemadecommunistrussia · 19/05/2020 09:22

Never been to one either, my hair could do with a trim but meh...
Quite desperate to go to work though, i had no idea how much i love it until this happenedConfused

lurker101 · 19/05/2020 09:25

Can’t wait! Will be getting a haircut, nails, brows, upper lip as soon as possible and a massage as a treat

SweetPetrichor · 19/05/2020 09:33

Nope, I cut my own hair, pluck my own eyebrows and have never set foot in a beauty salon. It always seemed like a waste of money to me! haha

LaurieFairyCake · 19/05/2020 09:35

I was and I'm not now. I also have blonde highlights and a bob every six weeks and I bought a root touch up the other day and my hair looks FANTASTIC

When we go back I am going to cut down having my hair done to every 12 weeks and save some money. You genuinely can't tell the difference with what I've done

RuffleCrow · 19/05/2020 09:38

The only time i had a facial, the beautician had awful breath. Put me right off.

AuntieMarys · 19/05/2020 09:38

Facial is a priority here. I have one every month.
My hairdresser has given me her 1st appointment when she's open....I go every 5 weeks normally

Pertella · 19/05/2020 09:42

My eyebrows need doing, but more importantly I badly need my Brazilian blowdry doing. Straight ends and fuzzy roots is not a good look 😄

TravellingSpoon · 19/05/2020 09:53

I need an eyebrow tint and a lash lift. I am desperate to get them done as soon as it's safe and allowed.

TravellingSpoon · 19/05/2020 09:54

Some of the replies on this thread are so sneery.

tinytemper66 · 19/05/2020 11:21

Haircut and waxing as soon as is possible. Want to help local businesses get back on their feet...if they can start up again.

Rainb0w · 19/05/2020 12:13

My hair is desperate for the full works but I'd be happy with just a cut to get rid of the dead ends for different reasons I've not been since December and my hair needs some help

HermioneWeasley · 19/05/2020 12:16

Desperate, absolutely desperate

40somethingJBJ · 19/05/2020 12:29

I’ve never been to one! A friend trims my hair probably once a year, although I’ve managed to quite successfully do it myself in the last few weeks. Never had a facial/manicure/waxing etc

TheTroutofNoCraic · 19/05/2020 12:52

I've been shaving my undercut myself, which looks good...but the lengths of my hair definitely need a good chop. I've been growing out bleach damage since July and almost have a full head of my own hair colour for the first time in 25 years. Looking forward to getting that last inch of bleach cut off.

I do my own 'HD' brows anyway...I use a Polish henna eyebrow kit, which temporarily stains the skin under the brows as well as the hair. and I use eyebrow wax strips to shape them. Saved a fortune in the last year doing my own.

I don't do nails etc but am looking forward to it being safe to get my botox and lips redone.

TheClitterati · 19/05/2020 17:30

I only get my eyebrows shaped - they were due to be done first week of lockdown so are now very sluggy. There is no chance of me ever doing them myself.

Can't wait until someone can wax them.

Terralee · 19/05/2020 17:38

Desperate for highlights & trim

PajamasnoDramas · 19/05/2020 17:39

I’ve managed to get myself a haircut booked for 3rd week of July. Although I do quite like it a bit longer my fringe is a pain in the arse.

Would bloody love a good facial though! I am diy-ing at home in the meantime as I have a ton of samples to use up.

fungster · 19/05/2020 17:40

I'm desperate for a manicure and pedicure. At the moment I've got feet like the Flintstones Blush

HunterHearstHelmsley · 19/05/2020 17:43

I've got my brows booked in for the 6th July. Cannot wait!

Need to get a haircut and colour booked....
