Hello,
I have rejoined MN after several years of trying to regain my time just to be part of this thread.
I have been following you since the start and registered so I could be more than a silent lurker.
I'm tired of living in a hypochondriocracy. I want public health decisions to be made on the basis of numbers, not "common" sense or generalised public anxiety.
I also want any decision to lock children away from each other for extended periods of time to have a high bar to acceptance, which apparently they do not at present.
I realised last week that my 7 year old had spent the equivalent of her life in lockdown as if a 70 year old had been locked down for over a year. The suggestion that the elderly or vulnerable should lock down for that length of time is greeted with fury, but it is being demanded of our children as though their needs count for nothing.
Thanks for the thread.
