Good luck Jourdain!

LivinLaVidaLoki · 10/05/2020 14:42

@SpratsOnParade.
Absolutely howling at "fuck off/fuck you" to the blind date theme.
Genius!

RunningNinja79 · 10/05/2020 14:42

I'm desperate to hear the announcement tonight! Just want to know what's happening with schools and things. It will be good to be able to plan, whatever the outcome

Me too, unfortunately I'm not holding my breath. Not sure if there's going to be anything other than garden centers and exercising more than once a day to be spoken about.

Though there is to be a 50 page document sent to MPs tomorrow regarding coming out of lockdown plans etc. Not sure when we'll get to know what's in it though. I'm not too clued up on the process of these kind of things.

Tappering · 10/05/2020 14:44

Best of luck @Jourdain11 - hope you are flaunting your presence!!

I've just made the mistake of clicking on the economy thread. Being deadly serious, I really wish I hadn't as I now have a ball of anxiety in my stomach and I feel pretty shit.

I sing Fuck off to the tune of Happy Birthday every time I wash my hands. I must remember not to do it when I phone daughter on her birthday next week.

TeacupDrama · 10/05/2020 14:46

just asked 10 year old DD what alert means reply "it has two meanings
you have a message on your phone or be ready/ pay attention"
see the word "alert" really isn't difficult
but as I said right at the beginning the primary symptom of covid hysteria is brain addling

Jourdain11 · 10/05/2020 14:47

@Tappering about the economy, I think we have to try to keep calm. After all, the whole world is getting this issue. Things will shake down somehow ... I hope!

Btw, I was kind of about the German demos. I thought it was only the Brits who are fucking selfish covidiots!

heroku · 10/05/2020 14:48

Anyone else think the whole "garden centre" announcement is a real kick in the teeth for those who don't have gardens?! I'm just imaging all these poor flat owners going to garden centres just for a day out and staring wistfully at the pansies.

And best of luck @Jourdain11, I hope you treat yourself to something nice when you get back home.

TeacupDrama · 10/05/2020 14:50

my patronus is a parrot

SpratsOnParade · 10/05/2020 14:52

LivinLaVidaLoki I admit that I'm having way too much fun getting creative with the lyrics. The jauntier the tune, the more satisfying it is.

SpratsOnParade · 10/05/2020 14:54

Jourdain11 Good luck with your treatment and I hope that they can make you more comfortable.

LivinLaVidaLoki · 10/05/2020 14:55

Apparently Rishi Sunak is giving an update on how winding down Furlough is going to look on Tuesday. Lord these boards will e a nightmare tonight through to Wednesday.
I've already started humming the new blind date tune....

heylittlehenwhenwhenwhen · 10/05/2020 14:59

@Leighhalfpennysthigh

Yes!

I am hoping they don't revisit the "bubble" idea.

Can you imagine the AIBU threads? MILs will feature heavily.

justasking111 · 10/05/2020 15:05

Funny how the MIL threads have vanished. Now the families have had a break it is the perfect time to lay down the ground rules for the future.

ChardonnaysPetDragon · 10/05/2020 15:09

Can't get any worse.

LivinLaVidaLoki · 10/05/2020 15:12

Hi Chardonnay suppose you're right. It's already a pretty scary place on that board......

trappedsincesundaymorn · 10/05/2020 15:13

Hell's teeth we're not out of this lock down yet and the dementors have started another about the next one.

@LivinLaVidaLoki you are right, I will not

LivinLaVidaLoki · 10/05/2020 15:25

Although I think it's a bit rich coming from someone who has been "bending the rules" themselves for a while.
Why do loads of these people seem to be such fucking hypocrites.

TeacupDrama · 10/05/2020 15:25

the school thread is bonkers just commented that the R rate in Germany has dropped from 0.75-0.65 in the week that lockdown eased and schools went back try getting a dementor to believe that Grin

AlexisCarringtonColbyDexter · 10/05/2020 15:28

I've came up with a few Fuck You songs that I sing in my head while reading the plethora of Dementor threads on MN. One is to the tune of Let It Go and another to the Blind Date theme

The blind date theme! hahahaha this is brilliant!

Thank God for this thread

justasking111 · 10/05/2020 15:29

Oh the dementors on FB re: Wales are bashing on about staying at home until there are 0 deaths in Wales, did wonder how they were going to manage for food/clothes/rent/etc. So guess what England you are expected to bail us out for the foreseeable future.

Mark Drakeford has spoken for Wales today.

Theluggage15 · 10/05/2020 15:35

Apologies if someone has already mentioned this but Professor Spiegelhalter was interviewed on Andrew Marr today and said this:

People are anxious about children, and there's 10 million under 15s in England and Wales, how many of those have died? Had Covid on their deaths out of these 30,000 have died? Two out of 10 million.”

Acknowledging such cases were “very tragic” he said, “this is the tiniest risk you could ever think of”.

Although children and young people may pass on Covid-19, their personal risk was “staggeringly low” he continued.

“If we look at under 25s, there're 17 million of them in the country where we have 26 deaths recorded,” he said, suggesting a similar risk would be seen in “a couple of days” in general accidents and sudden deaths.

Probably will be told he has no clue what he’s talking about by the expert dementors even though he’s a hugely respected statistician at Cambridge and just stating facts.
