In the hypocrite dementors category are also the many, many people on MN who tut about people being out and about but could only possible know those people were out and about if they were ALSO out and about!

YOU ARE OUT TOO so you are doing the exact same thing you are criticising others for! (except its always different and justified when its them isnt it?)

Just saw this on my Facebook.

There's a classic dementor thread running in AIBU at the moment entitled "People who aren't quite getting it."

It begins with a rant about a bouncy castle. I've just been on there. I'm sure I will need a hard hat and a good patronus if I put my head around the door there again.

The OP on that thread keeps going on about bouncy castle hire not being an essential journey.
She doesn’t seem to grasp that the person delivering the bouncy castle is working. Work is an essential journey if you can’t work from home. You can’t deliver bouncy castles from home.

@MagdaS I don't like the sound of the trumpet playing neighbour! a) unnecessary noise like that would have me gritting my teeth
b) surely he knows that YNWA is not a wartime song - it was written by Rodgers and Hammerstein for Carousel which is post war (LFC and musicals history geek here). Plenty of fab wartime songs to play (but not in public on a trumpet).

I bet all the dementors would have been the 'don't you know there's a war on' brigade. They definitely wouldn't have approved of anything 'under the counter' and would have been bloody nightmares as ARP/anything vaguely official.

I'm looking forwards to that parkrun again as it was barely on with all the floods through the autumn/ winter.

If I tried doing crafts and baking with my DCs, there would be an actual, literal murder of the one of us wouldn't be alive enough to die of Covid after us type. Diminished responsibility would be taken into consideration though.

alexis the first hypocrite in my post cant seem to understand that if she and her family have all been breaking the lockdown "rules" yet none of them have got covid....does she maybe think she is overreacting to her perceived risk to her family by others breaking the rules....

@Drivingdownthe101 There's been an absolute rash of the dying relative ones today. I've pulled up one person, deleted another and was horrified to see a third from someone I've always thought of as being fairly level headed, who is demanding the army is brought in as well (to do what, exactly, is a mystery).

I'm guessing this is a bit of a phase like the ones demanding rationing earlier on. I really hope we get a roadmap out of this lockdown soon.

And especially when the army/military already have been doing things - assisting with setting up the Nightingales, testing centres, getting PPE and equipment moved round the country. I did think at the begining of the Stazi appearing that having actual (sensible, common sense) defined rules and a proper police presence or army whatever would have stopped this utter crap in its tracks. But now I know that they would have spent their entire day running in and out to any police or army personnel within a hundred yards of their house to 'report' anyone for anything and filming themselves just for 'likes' on sm.
Think the police and the army would have ended up hiding away just to escape the dementors! or shot them
