I've often wondered specifically about supermarket workers. As far as I can tell from the ones I've frequented, more than once a week I might add, they aren't social distancing from either customers, or each other.

So what's the proportion of that sector that have caught the virus?

ThatLibraryMiss · 03/05/2020 12:34

that doesn’t sound too bad then, just had images of people with pitchforks hounding some one out of Tesco’sGrin

No, it won't be a leper's bell. Grin I'm sure they realise that anything that allows a Dementor to point the finger of blame at an individual would lead to public lynchings.

AlexisCarringtonColbyDexter · 03/05/2020 12:35

Buy a curly wurly. Kill an old lady. Become a murderer

lol

Delta1 · 03/05/2020 12:35

The best one I've seen was the poster who wants lockdown to continue ad infintum because the economy is already fucked anyway and we can just restart it later.

Waxonwaxoff0 · 03/05/2020 12:36

Alexis ah, the ones who accuse you of risking your child's health if you say you want schools open again.

Never mind the fact that the number of children who have died of the virus is 9 and 7 of those are in the older teen age range. As tragic as any deaths are, those numbers are NOT high. Healthy children are not really at risk.

My DS will be more at risk if I can't go back to work soon and end up losing my job and our home.

Drivingdownthe101 · 03/05/2020 12:36

Stop dementing. Eat a curly wurly. Protect our sanity.

Dontforgetyourbrolly · 03/05/2020 12:39

Apparently wanting ds to continue his education at school with his friends playing and having fun is equal to infanticide.
So glad for this thread .
I love the word dementor haha

Teateaandmoretea · 03/05/2020 12:39

I haven’t eaten a curly wurly for years

ChilliCheese123 · 03/05/2020 12:40

@psychomath From what I’ve seen on here, and please I’m not slagging off everyone from these paces ! i feel like the dementor population are wealthy middle classes from Devon/Dorset/maybe rural Kent garden villages, where they live remote from others, in large period homes and have ‘livestock’ or a pony or two. Husbands work away in the week in very well earning jobs. OR Home Counties commuter towns where they live on the outskirts near fields and therefore rurally.

Think how many precious lives youve saved!

Apparently wanting ds to continue his education at school with his friends playing and having fun is equal to infanticide

yes lol. This was starting to make me angry but now I just think you have to laugh at it because it really is THAT stupid and ridiculous. I'm not going to give this any head space any more because thats what they want, they WANT to shame people and make them feel like crap.

Alsohuman · 03/05/2020 12:53

How about Go Back to Work, Save Your Job, Get Real?

I’ve never had a Curly Wurly either. Are they nice?

ChilliCheese123 · 03/05/2020 12:53

Your kids are fine, Go To work, save the economy?

ChardonnaysPetDragon · 03/05/2020 12:55

Reset, Regrow, Reconnect?

Alsohuman · 03/05/2020 12:57

They have to be three words apparently Chardonnay so there’s a rhythm. Get Brexit Done being the prime example.

Booboodisney · 03/05/2020 12:57

@chardonnay I bow to your genius

ChardonnaysPetDragon · 03/05/2020 13:00

I've got three, I really think they should do something with reconnect or similar, you know with friends and family and so on.

thesuninsagittarius · 03/05/2020 13:00

@ChilliCheese123 just wanted to say I agree with you. I used to feel that this site was the place to come for unbiased, empathy and advice. I feel that lately it's different, there seems to be less empathy and more piling on abusing people. If I hadn't found this thread I would have left the site completely I think.

Doingitaloneandproud · 03/05/2020 13:04

Ahh I love this thread! When lockdown is loosened and eventually lifted, can we ensure the dementors have to stay in it?! Blush

Teateaandmoretea · 03/05/2020 13:07

Jeez that schools thread Hmm♟♟♟♟♟♟

Orangeblossom78 · 03/05/2020 13:07

Interesting response to this post www.mumsnet.com/Talk/am_i_being_unreasonable/3898306-To-ask-why-you-think-we-should-not-have-locked-down-at-all

Seems quite balanced and interesting posts...maybe the Dementors are on the way out

ChilliCheese123 · 03/05/2020 13:10

@Doingitaloneandproud Well if they actually practice what they preach they won’t be leaving the house ever as covid is lurking everywhere and there will never be an effective vaccine. Despite no underlying conditions (And no, mild hayfever related chest tightness isn’t asthma despite what they may claim) they don’t think it’s hard to ‘just stay home’ and this is nothing to do with the fact that they don’t have friends anyway. Or a flippin mortgage to worry about either, from the sounds of things ?!

OutwardBound2016 · 03/05/2020 13:13

The schools thread seems to be led by a dementor in chief who just keeps posting rubbish and ignoring everyone else, bet she’s a joy to know.

Alsohuman · 03/05/2020 13:16

They’re now all getting worried that anyone who doesn’t clap on Thursdays or join in a VE Street Party is going to be tarred and feathered when lockdown ends. You couldn’t make it up.

Teateaandmoretea · 03/05/2020 13:22

Indeed. I’ve never seen so much nonsense written in one thread in my life. The latest is ‘you couldn’t stop mass gatherings if schools are open‘. I mean wtaf...? Do they lie awake at night dreaming this guff up? It’s all from nervousness about behaviour and anxiety though.

Summersunandoranges · 03/05/2020 13:27

The dementors I know are actually people that don’t work or have husbands that are furloughed and have working tax. So it doesn’t effect them financially at all. I had to come of facebook at one point as our business was tanking and my aunty was calling employers ‘money grabbing cunts’ ect.. calling for the army to be brought in - lock down means lock down... Hmm

Then she posted a picture of her, dh and kids at a local beauty spot with loads of shite hashtags about social distancing...Hmm

I know after this some of my relationships would have changed dramatically!

I’m sure things will get back to normal soon it has too!
