So is everyone now able to buy what they wanted in the shops?

After months of not being able to buy any anywhere I popped into a small local shop that I do not normally use and bless them, they not only had hand wash on the counter but hand gel too (simple pleasures!). Yes I know I could have bought soap but as I share a flat with non family members I think it is best to use hand wash! After my joy of being able to find Arborio rice at last and some pasta I am quite overcome (slight exaggeration there!).

Anyone still having difficulty?

No flour still!

doodlejump1980 · 18/04/2020 09:50

Can’t get any flour for love nor money, but managing to get everything else fine.

inwood · 18/04/2020 09:56

No four, yeast, breadsticks, kitchen cleaner or hummus in my delivery due today.

SallyLovesCheese · 18/04/2020 09:57

No flour and still not able to find any hand gel, so just trying to wash my hands as often as possible.

CottonSock · 18/04/2020 09:57

Most things, but fresh produce has been a bit manky. Had to bin some..no bread flour or yeast

woodlandwalker · 18/04/2020 09:57

There's still no handwash or flour.

Deathraystare · 18/04/2020 09:58

Have you tried the smaller shops? Not the little Sainsbury's etc but some of the 'corner' shops. I found some for a colleague at a small corner shop near a tube station. They are supplied by the Co op apparently.

I must say I am rather lucky as I have rather a lot of shops near me. It was just in the first few weeks when there was madness.

I feel really sorry for people living in the back of beyond who only have a few shops and those are not near them.

Pretty much. IF I could get a delivery slot then I could probably get most items. Without a slot the groceries might as well be on the moon.

Bizarrely salad seems to be an issue in my area. Someone is panic buying all the peppers and cucumbers Confused

Haven’t been able to get bananas for a couple of weeks either. Eggs and flour are still hard to come by.

Noentrymeansnoentry · 18/04/2020 10:00

No flour, but admittedly it's not something we usually use very often. We really wanted to get in with the baking trend but never mind, we've got most other stuff we need.

Yeast is the new black for sure!

WhateverHappenedToBathPearls · 18/04/2020 10:01

We got flour locally this week - supermarkets still don't have it. Liquid soap and hand sanitizer still seem sold out, but we have loads of bar soap so I'm not really that bothered.

Floexotic · 18/04/2020 10:01

No Tinned fruit, yeast or flour and a surprisingly limited range of crisps! But plenty of loo roll, pasta and fresh stuff

JesusInTheCabbageVan · 18/04/2020 10:01

No flour of any kind for weeks - ditto yeast.

Fatted · 18/04/2020 10:01

Our Asda has been back to normal stock levels for at least the last two weeks.

Thislittlekitten · 18/04/2020 10:02

I’ve seen flour in our local Lidl and yeast in a farm shop.

I still can’t get hand sanitizer gel. I’ve seen hand wash in places, however the Asda I like to use has not had any for 4 weeks.

DeadBod · 18/04/2020 10:03

My Morrison's have been lacking tinned tomatoes, hand wash, sanitizer, pasta and flour. The toilet roll aisle is back to full capacity.

FamilyOhNo · 18/04/2020 10:04

Superdrug had stacks of hand gel and paracetamol on the counter last Saturday when I did my weekly shop.

Local farm shop has flour in bags that they have weighed out.

Might be worth checking your local ones.

BrandyandBabycham · 18/04/2020 10:08

Not bad at all. Things are in stock but sell quickly so you have to shop early eg eggs. I have also found some fruit & veg to be not as good quality as usual.

Waxonwaxoff0 · 18/04/2020 10:08

Everything apart from flour. I got some self raising 2 weeks ago in Aldi but they've ran out again and I need plain now! I can't get to farm shops as I don't drive and there aren't any within walking distance.

Elieza · 18/04/2020 10:10

No noodles, limited bread choices, no hand sanitiser, no large boxes of eggs.
It’s better than it was but I wonder if people are still buying too much, presumably?
Or perhaps the shops aren’t ordering enough to supply the increased demand from those who would previously eaten out?

AnyFucker · 18/04/2020 10:10

This week there was still no flour, sultanas, hand sanitiser or eggs

AuntyClockWise · 18/04/2020 10:12

Luckily I get what I need from the supermarket as I go on a Sunday on NHS hour. I'm working this Sunday though so had to go yesterday after work instead. No hand soap, hand wipes/gel, surface cleaning wipes, flours, very small selection of fruit with short best before dates and limited range of pasta. Essentials there though. So glad the loo roll situation has calmed down. And cat litter/food!

Octothorpe · 18/04/2020 10:12

I can't get any supermarket delivery slots so I have to make a supermarket trip once a week. Plenty of fresh fruit and veg, loo roll and fresh meat at my local, smallish Sainsbury's. No hand wash or soap, though.

This week I had to make an additional trip out to get my prescription (the only extra time I've been out other than the once-a-week shopping expedition). Got hand wash and hand gel, much to my surprise, at the Boots where I pick up my prescription.

Right next door, our big 'world' supermarket (sells a huge range of goods from everywhere you can imagine, fantastic if you're planning to make something and need hard-to-source ingredients) had massive sacks of rice and enormous bags of flour...yes, flour! Didn't stop to see if they had yeast but I do have an unopened pack of Dove's Farm which I'm guarding with my life....

tigger1001 · 18/04/2020 10:14

Fairly well stocked shops here now, but still
no flour and yeast.

I haven't really struggled to get hand wash - shops here either had hand wash or bar soap. Haven't seen hand sanitiser yet but not been at the shops this week yet.

I noticed a huge difference with stock levels last week - that was the first time I thought that they were almost fully stocked.
