Have you aged ten years overnight on a supermarket website?
Are you sticking to the 'two sheets' rule?
Have you had it with singing celebrities?
Are you yearning for what we will now call The Before Times?

If you've answered yes to any of the above, here's where you come to post threads about Naice Things - like ham and cats. Where The Virus That Must Not Be Named (TVTMNBM) is off-limits.

We'll do our best to keep the corona-free zone moderated - you do your best to chill out and gather strength. Flowers Brew

Keep using the normal boards for normal stuff, but here's where to come if you need a break. We're hoping everyone will see the value of having somewhere to get away from it all.

Thanks,
MNHQ

App WHO has stated that alcohol is not the solution to cv induced stress.....

I'm about to share a glass of wine, some cheese, crackers and crisps with my mates on HouseParty!

On my walk today I saw a squirrel and a rabbit playing together. For a few minutes I didn't have a care in the world!

GoatyGoatyMingeMinge · 26/03/2020 18:17

What a relief! The world has taken leave of its senses, and I was about to give up on Mumsnet altogether. Let's see how this works out. Grin

🎂 can't have too much of this. Too yummy & Cummy 😁

Roussette · 26/03/2020 18:38

Excited... I've set up a whatsapp group with 3 neighbours (couples). We usually have a drink at the local on a Friday night, but we're going to have a 'virtual' drink together and I'm ringing and all on camera!

I didn't even know if they had whatsapp or not... I'd heard within 5 minutes that they were up for a call and a drink together!

My mental health has (and still is) taken and absolute battering these past few weeks.

This thread is sooooooo needed! Fabulous idea.

The bottom of my garden is the tidiest and most organised it's been for years. I found some in-date herb seeds and am planning a spiral herb garden using the leftover roof tiles from the loft conversion 5 years ago. More seeds are coming and will hopefully arrive in the post this week. If I have extra I will offer to my friends, or leave out front for anyone to take. Most of them will be good for the bees when they flower too.

I've sent off the query letter and first pages of a novel to a literary agent just before this started, she asked for more, and now she wants the rest. I'm having a really good go through before sending it at the weekend. It might come to nothing, bit I feel encouraged and have made a list of who to send it to next. Once it's gone I'm dusting off another story and cracking on.

Am I the only one who keeps reading no corona to’My Sharona’?

Wolfiefan · 26/03/2020 19:15

@Coldhandscoldheart
Exactly!! I really thought it was only me. Grin

My DH is downstairs in the middle of the first Skype meeting of his 'Philosophers in Pubs' group. I hear some laughing and occasional 'hello? Hello? Are you still there? Rather sadly we don't have any alcohol in the house so not very pubby.Grin

Meanwhile I've just finished a Skype meeting ... a normal, weekly work meeting with colleagues in California, from where I am it's the same as ever (I've WFH for decades) apart from the odd noise of children in the background.

Susiesoap7 · 26/03/2020 19:47

Thank you, thank you, thought I was the only one going crazy 😜

maldivemoment · 26/03/2020 19:52

I'm also hoping this thread will inspire me to actually do something. I feel like for the past week I've been frozen to the spot and have done absolutely nothing!

I love reading about all you lovely folk doing projects, etc. I need some inspiration so thank you. It's great to know it's okay to do normal things & that family life goes on.

Is this just a thread or a whole section? In which case, where do I find it on the site?

ErrolTheDragon · 26/03/2020 19:59

It's a whole board! It's under Other Stuff if you lose it.

Oops, sorry!

Davros · 26/03/2020 20:11

It's not going day to find as it's not alphabetical. But I managed .... I've put it in favourites. Phew

chocodrops · 26/03/2020 20:34

Yay' I can enjoy Mumsnet again 😃

Yesterday I went on a pram walk with DD that we often do with her in the sling. I forgot about the 2 stiles and the level crossing 🙈 this was us after we made it across 😃

At work we switched to Google Drive last November. Even with all good intentions, the amount of documents in random places is already on the rise looking at YOU dear colleague Now I am 50% through filing all the docs. It's beyond tedious but I'm persevering because every 15 minutes I do a lap outside in the sunshine.

theoriginalmadambee · 26/03/2020 21:01

Anyone noticed we are changing to summer time this Sunday?

I love the long evenings Smile.
