Have you aged ten years overnight on a supermarket website?
Are you sticking to the 'two sheets' rule?
Have you had it with singing celebrities?
Are you yearning for what we will now call The Before Times?

If you've answered yes to any of the above, here's where you come to post threads about Naice Things - like ham and cats. Where The Virus That Must Not Be Named (TVTMNBM) is off-limits.

We'll do our best to keep the corona-free zone moderated - you do your best to chill out and gather strength. Flowers Brew

Keep using the normal boards for normal stuff, but here's where to come if you need a break. We're hoping everyone will see the value of having somewhere to get away from it all.

Thanks,
MNHQ

My cousin's dog, Colette. Considered dognapping her, but I think security at Bird International Airport in Antigua might've had words 🤣

Aw thank you.

Colette is adorable.

Anyone got any good light hearted tv box sets to recommend?

Not lighthearted at all but I just finished the new pope and loved it.

TSSDNCOP · 26/03/2020 21:58

RJ if you have Netflix try Madam CJ Walker.

Sickofrain · 26/03/2020 22:12

dreamingdream · 26/03/2020 23:58

Yay! Did you notice it's getting warm outside and the birds are singing? And other news, clocks go forward this week.

Had an excellent conversation with my elderly neighbour through a window today. Highlights:

"I'm going to go for a walk around block when it's later. When it's dark. And there's no one out. 2 in the morning! I'll be out. Don't worry. I'll wear rubber gloves."

"The doctor offered me, what do you call it chlorophyll [narrator: probably not chlorophyll]. That drug that's been on telly. Chlo-whatsit. Didn't take it. Got steroids instead. They make you high all the time. I'm high talking to you right now."

"I only ever eat salad. Yes, really! Ten years on it. Just salad. It's all I can manage. No sugar. No meat. Just salad. Ten years! All I've ever eaten!"
Me: "What did you have for tea tonight?"
Her: "Chicken and cake"

Thepigeonsarecoming · 27/03/2020 02:23

@mous I’m with your neighbour, I do love a cake salad for lunch!

Hello! Great thread. I need to get my ass in gear, stop wallowing and get all my seeds planted for the year before March is over! Tomorrow I will do it finally.

mous
That convo with your NDN made me laugh out loud! Is anyone like me... there is a fine line between hysterical laughing and crying?!
I just feel like my emotions are on the edge somewhat and little things made me laugh a lot.

We had an equally barking convo with someone in our village (from 8 ft plus away whilst on our walk in the fields). He is a massively overweight bloke who is usually pissed in the pub, and can be a bit argumentative, but not now.... sweetness and light.
We get a lot of power cuts here, he was banging on about his generator he's had for years, and how wonderful it is, and how it powers everything but his cooker.
Trouble is...
He hasn't been able to start it for five years Grin

Pretty fish!

Mc3209 · 27/03/2020 07:34

@DanglyTasselsOfThigh I keep fishies too ☺️ have a tank with fancy Goldie's, tank with Betta, and a community one with neon tetras and snails (planning to add guppies and shrimp to that one in the future). Got into the hobby by accident, a colleague was giving away her goldfish as she didn't expect what she got in for when she bought it. Now I absolutely love it and totally addicted 😂

Mc3209 · 27/03/2020 07:37

Gosh, the autocorrect - fancy goldfish (goldies).

DanglyTasselsOfThigh · 27/03/2020 07:46

Mc3209 Isn't it a wonderful and rewarding hobby. Yes you're so right , it's addictive. I caught multi-tank syndrome too and I have a smaller one too. No room for any more!

Triangle the angel fish in the pic is very friendly, if I wave my fingers in the direction of the tank he shoots to the front waving his fins about. Ciclids are always friendly in my experience. I used to have Discus and they had real personality but so fragile.

After a water change they get so exited and don't they! Tank becomes a hive of activity.

I love the fish!

SchadenfreudePersonified · 27/03/2020 07:46

Thank Christ!

A step away from the madness!

Please allow me to share a rare moment of calm in the Schaden household.

Dangly - we have just set up our first tropical tank. At the moment we have six glowlight tetras. They were so shy and anxious three weeks ago when we put them in, but are now buzzing about excitedly, and demanding food when anyone has a look in the tank (we don't give them it of course - we don't want to spoil (or kill) them. Looking forward to when we can get extra fishes.

SchadenfreudePersonified · 27/03/2020 07:54

Mc3209 - we started with goldfish too - a couple of fairground prizes, and one that someone gave us.

We lost the last at the end of last year - they must have been about 25, and had grown to quite a size!

However we decided not to get more goidies (even though I love them) because it's hard to give them the space they need as they grow.

Fish have got distinct personalities, haven't they?

Pinkarsedfly · 27/03/2020 08:16

That conversation with your neighbour is the best thing I’ve read on the internet in weeks, Mous

Mc3209 · 27/03/2020 08:19

@SchadenfreudePersonofied 25 is a very good age for goldfish! I hear you on the space front, I've got 3 at the moment, one of which is still a youngster, but that's the max I can have right now spacewise, tank is already big.
On another note your dog's look super cute!

I've been half looking at marine set up for quite some time now (just love the beasties one can keep in marine tank!), but I am not sure if I am ready to venture out of Freshwater territory yet.

Mc3209 · 27/03/2020 08:20

Dogs, not dog's. What's wrong with autocorrect today.
