The Robbing Butcher - Bemused by the Patio at FrogMhor Cottage

TheMustressMhor · 08/02/2020 10:58

What next for the Robbing Butcher?

Will he wander past Mhor Cottage several times a day so that he can keep an eye on the progress of the patio?

Will Mr. Mhor's measurements turn out to be wrong? And will Mustress Mhor and her DH have too many SLABS as a result?

If they do, what will they do with them?

Will the eggs be dippy tomorrow?

Excellent parenting imaginary I wish I'd had such foresight!

yolofish · 05/03/2020 22:13

catherine waves fat hand back, nice to see you.

I've always hated an electric blanky in bed (under bed?) but can recommend the ott one.

CatherineOfAragonsPomegranate · 05/03/2020 22:31

Ott electric blanky sounds great but its the getting up from under it afterwards that sounds tough!

yolofish · 05/03/2020 22:40

We can walk from one room to another in this house and be subjected to major differences in temperature. This may be due to the fact that I turn the heating down whenever possible.

I think I am about to be disappointed. DH wanted shutter blinds in the kitchen and our bedroom. They were delivered today, and I think I am going to HATE having them in the kitchen. We've just had bloody lovely new windows installed, and these stupid shutters are going to hide them, and when they are wide open will stick out stupidly above the window seat. They will be fine in the bedroom, but I will not thrive with them in the kitchen - but the kitchen ones alone cost £500 so will have to live with them. Wine required.

TheMustressMhor · 05/03/2020 22:45

Oh Hippo I feel your anguish.

I am so sorry that you've encountered a Robbing Plumber. This is Bad News indeed.

I spent a lot of time on a most interesting thread today, only for it to be deleted by MNHQ (not because of me, I hasten to add).

However, I have succeeded in sticking to 800 calories today and not eating anything at all after 18.00.

Tomorrow I shall be thin!

Well - maybe not tomorrow.

I'll never be thin. Currently working on the old adage that after a certain age you choose between your figure and your face... not absolutely sure I'd win on either tbf, but I'll settle for the one which involves least effort.

Am now glumly sellotaping cheese sandwiches to the LaMa fizzog.

Rather suspect I'm experiencing some sort of hunger psychosis.

7Worfs · 06/03/2020 09:34

LaMa Grin

Am not thriving, baby is being an arse.

yolofish · 06/03/2020 10:46

7 babies being arses is not nice.

LaM did the cheese sandwiches work? asking for a friend.

Off out to buy cute baby gear for nephew's new baby girl, and a Big Brother present for their little boy. I love buying baby stuff!

Mfff mmm mffFfMMf!

Weeell... yes and no.
They did stop me from eating (so I chose body) and did give me lovely cheekbones (taped triple deckers over said area - helping face) but I kept smelling (and, hence, craving) cheese.

Might try something different on the next of my 2 out of 5:2 and glue some chicken and chips to my bottom.

I've always wanted a curvy bottom.

CatherineOfAragonsPomegranate · 06/03/2020 12:06

Sorry do the cheese sandwiches help control eating sone way? Please say yes, I love cheese!

Que yesterday's advice, in order to prep adequately, I started the morning with a segment of mega supersized sized toblerone bought for me by my sister after a holiday. And yesterdays leftovers chicken fajitas. I will survive any forcible epidemic induced quarrantine. I am not fat. I am practical.

Plus my face looks rounder and younger

yolofish · 06/03/2020 12:22

Absolutely right about the mirrors catherine. Every single one of them in our house has transformed itself into the funfair distortion type.

CatherineOfAragonsPomegranate · 06/03/2020 12:58

Yolo!Grin

How are the chickens?

yolofish · 06/03/2020 13:28

chickens are good thanks catherine almost fully feathered up now after being baldie rescues (from an alleged free range farm...) Will post some photos when I get round to taking any. Laying like mad, if anyone is in south east Kent and wants some delicious eggs, msg me!!

Oh, gosh, me too!
Dairy is the reason I couldn't become vegan. I love meat but the substitutes are improving. Vegan cheese, however, is the devil's own work, imo.

I think I was deranged from hunger yesterday so conflated the idea of body Vs face and not ingesting food and possibly a small dash of cosmetic fillers...

Wouldn't it be brilliant, though?

You know:

A moment on the lips
A lifetime on the hips.

I'd love decent hips. So I'd be happy to apply calories to, say, hips, bottom and cheekbones and deviate them from my stomach.

I realise this is a theory that needs some work...🤔

PS I love your name(s). Would it be rude to ask about the inspiration for it/them?
If not I'm asking 😊

yolofish · 06/03/2020 13:49

There's something really wrong with our bodies and why they put fat where they do and where they don't.

Also gravity, I blame that for a lot of my physical decline, my eyebrows are sliding down hence my eyes are smaller. And as for boobs - well the pencil test is only successful for such a short time.

LaMarschallin · 06/03/2020 13:49

yolo

Will post some photos when I get round to taking any.

Please do!

I miss my bantams.

LaMarschallin · 06/03/2020 13:51

the pencil test

So... it's not the pencil case test, then?

Bugger!

yolofish · 06/03/2020 13:53

There could be all manner of stuff under my boobs these days, kind of like the drawer of doom in the kitchen.

Brilliant!

Between us we've probably got several sofa cushions' worth of loose change. I vote we ask Mustress to go on a trip to the robbing butcher on our behalf (behalfs?).

Obviously there'd be a commission fee, Mustress

CatherineOfAragonsPomegranate · 06/03/2020 15:57

I'd love some real organic eggs Yolo can you send them by post??

Offer them to sell at the local maybe? Oh I've seen the 'free range' chicken farms. They are the chicken equivalent of Oxford street 5 days before Christmas. About as much room to 'range' as people trying to fit in the tube at xmas rush hour. Not suprised their feathers are sparse!

On the other hand I could fit quite a few eggs under one boob probably incubate a couple if you need to make room. I failed the pencil test once DS 1 came into the picture. That child has no idea what I've had to give up!!

yolofish · 06/03/2020 16:02

well I suppose I could post them catherine... you might not like the end result if they are already scrambled though!!

the rescue place I got them from said that although the chickens can go outside they dont, because all their food and water is indoors and there arent enough exits anyway, and they are too small, so the dominant birds just stand there and shoo the others away. Bastards.

CatherineOfAragonsPomegranate · 06/03/2020 16:10

@LaMarschallin I used to love Tudor history at school and when David Starkey did his history programs I was addicted. I went and brought his books 6 wives, Henry and Elizabeth.

I particularly love Catherine of Aragon among Henry's wives. Her and Catherine Parr. Some see her as being a bit weak, but I see her as strong and standing for her rights. As much as she was submissive to Henry in everything on this one thing she stood against him for Mary's sake and out of her sense of principle. Her heraldic device was the pomegranate and people still leave them on her tomb in Peterborough Cathedral today. I plan to travel there and leave one too!

ilovejeffgoldblum · 06/03/2020 17:14

Catherine , I too loved David starkey and his programs , but I'm sure I read somewhere , that he was controversial! But can't remember, what it was or where I heard it!😊
