The Robbing Butcher - Bemused by the Patio at FrogMhor Cottage

What next for the Robbing Butcher?

Will he wander past Mhor Cottage several times a day so that he can keep an eye on the progress of the patio?

Will Mr. Mhor's measurements turn out to be wrong? And will Mustress Mhor and her DH have too many SLABS as a result?

If they do, what will they do with them?

Will the eggs be dippy tomorrow?

Good grief, that's so sad about the black and B&W cats. That's terrible, not being Instagram worthy. MNHQ I'm talking about cats, Cats not people

yolofish · 25/02/2020 23:32

Yes it is so sad, also people are superstitious about black cats.

My own dear mother actually was told that she wouldnt be welcome back at one particular care home where I think she lasted less than a week. DD1 was expelled from nursery for biting.

I feel there is someting in both of those cases!! I blame my mother, obvs.

mustress I can see you as a very important person, like a matron, running everything with a rod of iron but KIND above all.

Wauden · 25/02/2020 23:32

My last cat was a black rescue cat and she was a sweetie.

SussexRoyalties · 25/02/2020 23:37

A patio should always be level otherwise you can see the bodies underneath it.

I watched The Windsors and thought of you all.

Glad to see that you are thriving on this thread.

TheMustressMhor · 25/02/2020 23:45

The very first cat we ever had as a family was a black boy.

I know I ought to go to bed (especially as I have an early hospital appointment in the morning) but I know I shall not sleep.

So upset.

Been lurking on these threads but couldn’t resist a pic (for yolo ) of our narky black rescue cat who is a law unto himself and a right in the arse for getting a decent picture of...

Here you all are Grin

No cat pictures to add but I have made (and eaten far too much of) a rather lovely Lamb Tagine tonight which rather coincided with me missing out on the drama "elsewhere".

TheMustressMhor · 25/02/2020 23:56

What an excellent cat, Mner2000.

Hi DeRigeur. You could add a picture of some Stornoway black pudding if you haven't got a cat.

Thank you. He thinks so too Mustress Grin

DeRigueurMortis · 26/02/2020 00:27

I'm afraid I'm all out of black pudding (Mr DRM polished off the lot on Sunday and I haven't yet replenished the fridge by virtue of our lovely local butcher yet).

Absolutepowercorrupts · 26/02/2020 00:38

I love the word replenished, it's a fabulous word and so comforting so, we have the supplies and we're here to stock up. I wonder how it came to be used, we don't say plenished so why do we say replenished. Definitely time for bed. Night

TheMustressMhor · 26/02/2020 08:46

Good morning.

I am not unthriving.

Handsome cat Mner2000. He has the look of the devil about him, like ours.

It's a glorious day here, cold but at least not raining or blowing a hoolie. We are forecast snow tomorrow, but tbh I think it's unlikely.

7Worfs · 26/02/2020 09:21

Good morning, I’m thriving on all those great pet pics!

Replenish is a great word.
Personally we use the word dwindling a lot at the Worfs house. As in, ‘chocolate supplies are dwindling, add to the shopping list’.

I have a great love for black cats - my great aunt had a very floofy one called Kimmy who I loved a lot, and if I ever get one I shall call it Gobbolino (not terribly original, I know)

We had a visitation by a gorgeous young black and white kitty the other night - it spent over 24h at our place and was fed twice, but has gone now, maybe back to its actual own home. Both my boys would love a kitty but the husband is strongly Anti-Cat, being both a dog and a bird lover. :(

Yolo - my mother had a colostomy - it generally didn't cause her too much bother but she was mortally afraid it would. The only time she was severely discombobulated by it was after she had to take a contrast medium (something graphite) to have an x-ray - she had a literal explosion in the x--ray room and was utterly mortified by it :(
I have nothing useful except that she had to make sure that everything around the stoma was scrupulously clean and not at all greasy in any way so that the bag would seal appropriately. She also had to stop eating a lot of veg, especially lettuce and green peas because of their gas potential.

I'll try to add a pic of our visiting cat, affectionately known as "Mush"

Thanks thumb, we think the unpredictability of it is chemo-related, or at least we hope so. Had to throw away a duvet cover and sheet yesterday (sorry tmi!)

Pretty kitty.

Rhetorical question: why do some people nitpick?

7Worfs · 26/02/2020 09:49

annie leave the posts Grin

See you on the relevant threads Wink

7Worfs · 26/02/2020 09:54

yolo I think nitpicking is usually deployed when one wishes to change the subject. Perhaps even go on the offence to completely deflect a subject you want buried.
Everyone who’s been in a long term relationship will have done it at least once. Wink

annielouise · 26/02/2020 09:54

7Worfs - I've just asked for them to be deleted - probably just as well to leave this to food and cats Grin

In the spirit of that I didn't have time for pancakes yesterday but I did buy readymade sweet pancakes, Gu chocolate spread with hazlenuts and some bananas so that's breakfast today (and the rest of the week).

Regarding cats, apart from this house I'm living in the previous three houses I was the neighbour that would look after the next door neighbour's cats when they went away. Love cats (and dogs).

A neighbour here has a lovely cat that runs up to me when he sees and sneaks in the house.

yolofish · 26/02/2020 10:01

My hands are getting bruised from being sat on. I really must shift some of this lard.

7Worfs · 26/02/2020 10:07

I’m not struggling at all, I know how to avoid stupidity Grin

annie neighbours cats is the best type of ownership
