On one of the Xmas cooking programmes; someone crumbled Christmas pudding into vanilla Ice cream for a dessert and apparently tastes like rum and raisin ice cream

TheMustressMhor · 26/01/2020 15:53

Apparently tastes like rum and raisin ice cream

That would be enough reason for my never eating it.

Ohhh ... ohhh am feeling quite excited! 😃 love rum and raisin!

OVienna · 26/01/2020 17:37

Anyone want to tell her to save her breath! She might need some later. Hasn't even been any news this weekend!

ilovejeffgoldblum · 26/01/2020 17:41

Who do you mean? Me ☹️?

yolofish · 26/01/2020 17:51

After a busy morning in the garden shifting barrow loads of wood chip into the chicken run while DH faffed about with the shed doors we had:
roast lamb, roast potatoes, leeks in red wine and spinach. Was very delish! However we ate at about 3, and I will prob actually DEF need some toast later.

My wobbly ankle (thanks for asking) is much better if I am wearing boots rather than slippers, so off to chemist tomorrow to get one of those stretchy bandage support things.

OVienna · 26/01/2020 18:08

Oh gosh IloveJeff not at all!

OVienna · 26/01/2020 18:09

Don't want to get too specific...

ilovejeffgoldblum · 26/01/2020 18:15

Ahhh I'm with you now! Grin

JulietJanuary · 26/01/2020 18:41

I've been baking treacle scones this afternoon.

May have eaten too many..

JulietJanuary · 26/01/2020 18:48

OVienna I am conserving my breath as well as my carb stores . Always glad to follow advice!

Yolo your dinner sounds wonderful.

Ours was storecupboard stuff cobbled together and topped with leftover haggis!

OVienna · 26/01/2020 18:56

Not you either but I'd be happy to offer any advice you may need. AMA.

OVienna · 26/01/2020 18:56

Is veggie haggis problematic? I like that as well.

JulietJanuary · 26/01/2020 19:01

If we examined the ingredients no doubt something could be found to be problematic to someone.

Normal haggis can't be imported into the States as they have a ban on using animal lungs in food for humans. So for the USA veggie haggis is the only way to go!

OVienna · 26/01/2020 19:03

I am in the UK.

Myimaginarycathasfleas · 26/01/2020 19:18

I have had far too much cauliflower cheese...Envy(not envy)

7Worfs · 26/01/2020 19:24

I love haggis, as long as I pretend I don’t know what it’s made of.

My PFB has high temp for the first time and I’m feeling terrible Sad

Myimaginarycathasfleas · 26/01/2020 19:27

Try not to worry 7Worfs though I know that's easy to say. I'm sure you are doing all the right things.

ilovejeffgoldblum · 26/01/2020 19:27

7 easy to say I know but try not to worry , they bounce back fast , mine were always fever one minute fine the next Thanks

OVienna · 26/01/2020 19:49

Re the temp: we were in A&E twice with DD1 cause we were unsure.

How old?

7Worfs · 26/01/2020 19:50

Thank you, I do tell myself that.
He’s sleeping on me, all attempts to transfer to cot have failed, so plenty of time for MN - silver linings Smile

7Worfs · 26/01/2020 19:52

He’s 8 months old, we were at the out of hours GP earlier. Temp reached 38.9, with Calpol we get it down to about 38, so he’s in big discomfort

goldierocks · 26/01/2020 20:02

When my DS cut his first tooth (5 months) he developed an ear infection. It was terrifying, his temp reached 41 degrees. The hospital gave him paracetamol (Calpol) and ibuprofen (Nurofen) liquid on rotation every two hours, which helped bring his temperature down.

Apologies if you know that you can take Calpol/Nurofen at intervals already 7Worfs, but I didn't, so passing it on. Hope your DS is better soon.

7Worfs · 26/01/2020 20:06

goldie that's terrifying... actually I didn't know about the rotation, or that there was baby ibuprofen, the out of hours GP told me a few hours ago. He looked in his ears and said it was fine.

I am kicking myself because he was a little whingey yesterday, and I dismissed it as teething, so have him only small doses of Calpol. Nowhere to buy ibuprofen on a Sunday evening, will buy it tomorrow morning and start the rotation. I feel bad, could've caught this yesterday while it was much lower temp.

GracefulHippo · 26/01/2020 20:06

7, it is great that you have seen the GP. Hopefully that gives you some comfort. The temperature is also responding to Calpol which is great.

Do you have Neurofen at home? You can alternate if you get maxed out on Calpol for 24hours.
