If you have a shower with a fixed shower head....

How do you wash your nether regions? DH has just moaned at me because I hate staying anywhere that doesn't have a shower head you can move, for this reason.

OP posts:
ioioitsoff · 19/01/2020 16:36

What a bizarre question Shock same as you wash anywhere else of course.

MrsPelligrinoPetrichor · 19/01/2020 16:37

I hate a fixed shower head.

PriscillaTheHun · 19/01/2020 16:38

I agree with you OP. I feel the same.

Pilot12 · 19/01/2020 16:39

The only time I remove the shower head from its bracket is if I want to wash my hair over the bath or rinse the bath. To wash I just stand under it, regardless of its fixing.....

BercowsFlamingoFlownSouth · 19/01/2020 16:39

I do a headstand on a flannel to stop my head slipping and free up a hand to get to the relevant areas.

Strangerthingshere · 19/01/2020 16:40

I also feel the same at hotels. I hear you OP!

Peakypolly · 19/01/2020 16:40

I’m with you! I can’t even wash my hair properly with a fixed shower head - water drips into my eyes - yet alone do my bits.

SwedishEdith · 19/01/2020 16:42

You mean those rain shower or whatever ones? I hate them.

JayAlfredPrufrock · 19/01/2020 16:42

I asked this very question of my brother.

It may be because I’m fat but I like to give my bits a good whoosh

EpicDay · 19/01/2020 16:43

Actually for all that lots of people are going to take the piss OP I recognise it’s a serious question. It’s just that it doesn’t seem to be a thing for some people. I remember once asking a friend who was renting a house that only had a fixed shower head this question and she thought I was mad. She had just never thought about it. But I used to get stressed about it when staying with her as I never felt like I’d properly washed.

PintOfBovril · 19/01/2020 16:43

Also how do people rinse their bath or shower screen after cleaning it without a movable shower head?

Notso · 19/01/2020 16:46

With a sponge the same way I wash my other regions!
I have a fixed shower head with a separate removable attachment, I only use that for rinsing my hair or washing my body when I don't want to get my hair wet.

DappledThings · 19/01/2020 16:48

We just got a new shower that has a fixed and a moveable shower head. I was wondering what the moveable one was for.

I use a shower puff for washing and for cleaning the screen I use a spray that doesn't need rinsing off.

I can't imagine the moveable one is going to get much use!

jomaIone · 19/01/2020 16:51

I don't think I've ever had a shower without taking the shower head off, I don't know how you can get right under and wash properly without it! Hate anywhere that doesn't have a proper shower.

jomaIone · 19/01/2020 16:51

Also how do you wash children quickly in the shower without a removable shower head?

Thekindyoufindinasecondhand · 19/01/2020 16:53

Totally know what you mean!!! Give me a shower head you can get in all those hard to reach places every day of the week!

TeaAndStrumpets · 19/01/2020 16:56

What about short people? I like being able to adjust the height of the showerhead. The rainhead ones look fancy but but they don't look functional.

ioioitsoff · 19/01/2020 16:56

We have a fixed rainforest shower head and moveable shower head plus one attached to the bath taps with a pull lever to switch from taps to shower, it's great for getting lots of foam bath bubbles and hair washing. I don't use the moveable one at all.

minniemoll · 19/01/2020 16:57

I can't stand not having a removable shower head! I use it to rinse my bits every time I shower. When I had my new shower fitted I went for one with both options, I think I've used the rainfall bit about twice....

Ohyesiam · 19/01/2020 17:01

Well the water runs down you and round the corner of your pubic bone to your bits.
If you want you can have your back to the shower and bend forward a bit for a direct hit on the arse.

If you doubt the effectiveness of this, you could try putting a wad of tissue paper between your legs and see if you manage to keep it dry ( of shower water, obvs) for more than a few seconds.

carseatgreet · 19/01/2020 17:11

A flannel?

ThisMustBeMyDream · 19/01/2020 17:15

Has anyone else never ever shoved a shower head anywhere near their undercarriage?

What are we being taught about cleaning ourselves?! Who taught people that is required? The vagina is self cleaning you know... www.nhs.uk/live-well/sexual-health/keeping-your-vagina-clean-and-healthy/

All you need to do is wash around the area with a flannel or sponge. Not use a showerhead like a vaginal douche....

Ylvamoon · 19/01/2020 17:18

Just don't wash there until you get to the right shower. Might be smelly but hey ho who cares!

MrsPelligrinoPetrichor · 19/01/2020 17:19

No is talking about douching.

The worst thing about a fixed gear is having to get in and then mess around with the knobs trying to get the right temp while you're standing there getting blasted with hot/cold water.

Horsemad · 19/01/2020 17:20

What screen clean spray do you use please @DappledThings?
