First, an astronaut. Then I found out about vacuum. Then, a fire fighter. I'm phobic about fire. Next, a jockey. Then i found out how they are treated, and how much they're paid. Then a social worker. My aunt told me my exam results were far too good, and I was to do law. Next, a lawyer. . . jeez, so much for that!

Awrite · 12/01/2020 20:53

Actress, Air Hostess then lawyer. Not very imaginative.

AragonsGirl · 12/01/2020 21:38

When I was about 7/8 I decided I wanted to be a teacher...and I am!

timeforawine · 12/01/2020 21:41

As a child had no damned clue, end of secondary school i decided on travel rep, college course was useless and was told I'd only get to do 18-30's holidays (my idea of hell) so dropped out, now a PA.

happypotamus · 12/01/2020 21:43

A nurse. And now I am one.

Twospaniels · 12/01/2020 21:44

A riding instructor, but I have always worked in offices as secretary /PA.

I was discouraged from being a riding instructor and as I wasn’t a very strong person and just did as I was told, I didn’t fight it.

I really wish I had been more forthright when I was a teen.

Smurf123 · 12/01/2020 21:44

A teacher ever since I can remember.. And I am one

Cobblersandhogwash · 12/01/2020 21:46

An actress.

I manage direct marketing campaigns for charities.

Time for a change.

Someonesayroadtrip · 12/01/2020 21:46

Palaeontologist until Jurassic Park came out and everyone said they wanted to do the same 😂 then something medical or with animals. I did nursing but then stopped, I did a few different things but been at home for a while now as I have children with disabilities. I'm hoping to set my own business up later this year.

CointreauVersial · 12/01/2020 21:48

I wanted to be a chef! God, I hate cooking now, and do the least I can get away with. I'm an office manager.

grasukdesim · 12/01/2020 21:49

A gymnast.

At the age of 38 I was diagnosed (our to lots of painful joints) with hyper mobility syndrome, so maybe I could've been a gymnast if I'd stuck at it!

I ended up working in Education.

Lekky12 · 12/01/2020 21:50

Air Hostess - meh dint fancy being away for long periods. Forensic Scientist - fainted when my brother had his ankle pinned. Now I'm a Senior Engineering Geologist (and FTM) and love it! Rocks don't bleed or moan!

BertieBotts · 12/01/2020 21:57

An artist. A teacher. A mum. A kitten fosterer. A writer.

Well - I'm OK at art but nothing fantastic, so that went nowhere. Possibly could have got into media/design. I did train (16-18) in graphic design but never managed to get to uni in the end.

I do some teaching - ESL. I really enjoy it but I couldn't see myself in a school in charge of a class. I am NOT authoritative at all and my classroom management is appalling. I do OK with small groups of motivated students or one to ones, which is what I now try to stick to. I am considering if we ever move back to an English speaking country training as an ESL specialist TA. Possibly I could move up to managing a class in the future if I got some decent training/skills in behaviour management.

I do have 2 DC and have been SAHM with DS1 and am on extended ML with DS2 and do love that - but don't fancy being SAHM forever, much to the bemusement of my own mum.

Would love to foster kittens but defo not the right circumstances right now with little ones. Maybe one day - or just having a cat and/or dog.

I'm not as good at writing as I thought I was as a teenager :o

Ironfloor269 · 12/01/2020 21:58

Astronaut or astronomer. Then I realised you need a sound aptitude for maths for that (I HATED maths on school) so moved onto scientist. Again, the need for pesky maths was brought to attention.

Now I'm a TA!

CakeAndGin · 12/01/2020 22:01

A prostitute. Or more specifically I was very young and said I ‘wanted to solicit’. Everyone told me I couldn’t do that. I could be a solicitor but soliciting was not the same.

I also wanted to be a teacher. And a mechanic for a while in my teens.

I work in the environment sector in a project role.

Clevs · 12/01/2020 22:01

Lollipop lady (I was very young when I decided this 😆), air hostess or maths teacher. Then from the age of 14 I decided I wanted to be a paramedic and that's what I do now. Love my job 👍🏻

SaintEyning · 12/01/2020 22:04

Primary school teacher. Then air hostess. Then mechanic. Then equestrian vet. Then Signals Corp (thanks, Cadets). Then marketing manager for Armani. Then lawyer. Am a primary school teacher... (never did any of the other jobs!)

Muddlingalongalone · 12/01/2020 22:06

Olympic gymnast, Air hostess then sports journalist then lawyer.
I am now none of the above!

Sarahlou63 · 12/01/2020 22:06

I wanted to be a horse.

Then I wanted to be a nurse, until I realised vomit might be involved.

Now I amI have lots of horses Grin

SaintEyning · 12/01/2020 22:07

*Corps

Equimum · 12/01/2020 22:07

I always wanted to be a doctor. I did well at GCSEs and A-levels but didn’t have the confidence to go for it, and my parents didn’t think I could.
