What was your kid's most played with Xmas present?

It's my DS6 birthday v soon. And I'm totally stuck as to what to get him as he just got a load of stuff for Christmas! His favourite Xmas presents were a Numberblocks magazine bought at an extortionate price on eBay, a Paw Patrol plane, a Ghostbusters Playmobil car, and an Orchard Maths game. And a cuddly hippo he got in his stocking! Please can you tell me what were the big hits for your kids at Christmas to give me some ideas? Preferably boys aged around 5-8.

At the moment, the surprise best hit for DS about to turn 5 has been the book 'You Choose'. He got excited about the Lego Santa got him but hasn't actually played with it that much since building it.

ILikePaperHats · 07/01/2020 20:23

@Teddyreddy He's already got the book You Choose. Both him and his older brother loved it! Would recommend that to anyone of that age. He's not into football or nerf guns, but thanks to other posters for replying.

Master a million ball

ILikePaperHats · 07/01/2020 20:25

@Hugsgalore Junior Monopoly is quite a good idea, thanks, but I'm worried he would get frustrated if he didn't win, he's not a good loser!

There are a couple of "sequals" to You Choose. Dd loves the space one. She is the same age as your ds. She got Uno for Christmas and has played it loads.

ILikePaperHats · 07/01/2020 20:28

@SnugglySnerd
I didn't realise there were sequels! I've ordered him the space one, thanks so much

Mine isn't great at losing either but she's getting better since we started playing it funnily enough. It's a good game to get the family together.

Flippidyflap · 07/01/2020 20:30

Bugs in the kitchen. This has been a massive hit and is played with loads!

bigchris · 07/01/2020 20:32

Kurplunk!

TropicPlunder · 07/01/2020 20:33

My daughter is 6, she loves the games she got for Christmas. She got Guess who?, Uno and kids Articulate. All a big hit, but Articulate will be better when she's older

SnugglySnerd · 07/01/2020 20:34

Pleased you have ordered the space book, it's fab! Another vote for Junior Monopoly too, dd got it for her birthday last year and we play it a lot.

B0bbin · 07/01/2020 20:34

The wrapping paper. Sat snipping paper with scissors half the day, surrounded by beautiful presents Grin

Bluewavescrashing · 07/01/2020 20:34

Lego lego lego lego lego

SnugglySnerd · 07/01/2020 20:36

Oh yes, Guess Who! She loves that too. Dressing up stuff also went down well at Christmas.

Wasail · 07/01/2020 20:38

Guinness World Records. Every year it’s far and away his favourite present.

Impatientwino · 07/01/2020 20:40

Nintendo switch HmmGrin
Labyrinth board game
Dobble
Spy invisible ink set

My all time favourite gift for kids that sort of age is a stomp rocket and extra rockets - they all love it so do adults

FinallyMrsE · 07/01/2020 20:40

Uno, dominoes and top trumps cards have been the biggest hits for our 6 year old this year

RachelEllenR · 07/01/2020 20:42

Rush Hour jr, lego and metal straws.

EnglishGirlApproximately · 07/01/2020 20:47

Bugacular board game, Labrynth board game and a giant sloth with velcro arms which is coming everywhere with us. He also loves his colouring book which is intricate patterns like the adult ones, and a 'would you rather' question book for kids

originalcatlady · 07/01/2020 20:49

Geomag

eavers · 07/01/2020 20:52

Nerf laser guns. Very noisy though!

LikeSilver · 07/01/2020 20:53

DS5 loves Marvel and got the Playskool Ironman Headquarters with some figures, he’s played with it loads.

Also Top Trumps, Playmobil (he loves the Police and City Action sets), K’nex, and Imaginext.
