What would you tell your 18 year old self?

Just interested, if you could go back and tell yourself anything at 18 what would it be?
I'd tell myself :
Stop chasing pricks that aren't worth your time & you'll find a job you like and are good at stop worrying.
Oh and you aren't fat so stop worrying about that too.

You're not fat

Drop drinking so much, there's plenty of years ahead for that and the hangovers aren't worth it

puds11 · 26/12/2019 22:41

This is the best your body will look, stop criticising it!

Be strong.

DisgraceToTheYChromosome · 26/12/2019 22:42

Get your arse into therapy. Then you might not spend your 20s trying to drink yourself to death, and wondering why you can't do people.

JoGose · 26/12/2019 22:43

Listen to your mum, she really does know best and isn’t just being a bitch

HelloDulling · 26/12/2019 22:43

Move to London now. Don’t wait for the boyfriend.

Singlenotsingle · 26/12/2019 22:46

Be very careful who you go out with.
Even more careful who you marry.
And remember to choose the father of your babies very carefully, remembering that the child will inherit a lot of the father's characteristics.

Neolara · 26/12/2019 22:47

Be brave. It will all turn out ok.

Thelnebriati · 26/12/2019 22:47

The only thing that could help her out of the mess would be the winning lottery numbers so I'd give her those with the message 'run and don't look back.'

rabbitwoman · 26/12/2019 22:49

Don't start smoking. It's really hard to stop.

You are bloody gorgeous.

Don't waste time on boyfriends. Honestly, your mum is right. Concentrate on yourself. It's not worth breaking your heart over 18yr olds, wait until you are 25 to fall in love.

Start martial arts training and become a cage fighter. By the time you realise you love MMA fighting you will be too old.

Buy a flat. You can afford it.

HenSolo · 26/12/2019 22:49

Oh god so much.

You don’t need to hang out with people who make you feel like shit. Stand up for yourself. And stop using alcohol as a crutch to seem interesting

And of course, like pp, you are not bloody fat. You’re gorgeous.

Sadie789 · 26/12/2019 22:50

You aren’t fat.

And relax - you don’t need to rush into being older, you don’t need to rush into responsibilities, you don’t need to experiment with your hair or your clothes - keep it simple and enjoy life.

I think I wanted to be a hundred different things when with hindsight I should have just been myself.

Scrumptiousbears · 26/12/2019 22:50

No man is worth your tears.

Do more stuff with your dad cause he won't be around forever.

MarshaBradyo · 26/12/2019 22:53

There’s only one thing, check out the economics consulting job before choosing the more individual path. Just so you know for sure it wasn’t the right thing. Actually writing that, maybe not, it’s been a good, less corporate path.

RJnomore1 · 26/12/2019 22:53

Dump him
Stop listening to your mum so much
Most of the people around you are not your friends.
You know what you need to do. Don’t be afraid, do it, it will all work out amazingly for you.

FilthyBiscuit · 26/12/2019 22:54

Hold tight, it's going to be a bumpy ride.

CitizenErm · 26/12/2019 22:54

Leave straight after the second baby
You will be ok x

OhioOhioOhio · 26/12/2019 22:55

Exercise!

anon2000000000 · 26/12/2019 23:34

You'll be ok

ElmStreet · 26/12/2019 23:36

Don't move there. It's going to be the worst part of your life, and your mental health will never recover.

thistimelastweek · 26/12/2019 23:36

Just shag him

MintyMabel · 26/12/2019 23:36

Have kids sooner.

mrspotatohed · 26/12/2019 23:37

Save your wages and go travelling earlier

MiseryChops · 26/12/2019 23:37

Cherish your grandparents while you’ve got them.

Learn. Get a career or a trade or a skill.

Experiences are worth more than things.

Make an effort to stay in regular contact with good friends.

AND NEVER COMPARE YOURSELF TO ANYONE ELSE

thatonesmine · 26/12/2019 23:39

Don't give up the tennis.

Oct18mummy · 26/12/2019 23:43

Don’t go for the bad boy! Aim higher and value yourself more.
