Crazypanda85 · 26/12/2019 22:39

Just interested, if you could go back and tell yourself anything at 18 what would it be?
I'd tell myself :
Stop chasing pricks that aren't worth your time & you'll find a job you like and are good at stop worrying.
Oh and you aren't fat so stop worrying about that too.

Emigrate and don't look back!

Weffiepops · 27/12/2019 09:05

I like singlenotsingles post.

Reminds me of 'fools rush in where angels fear to tread'

CaptainMyCaptain · 27/12/2019 09:07

Apply to a different university, making this mistake set off a whole train of events as it wasn't right for me. I eventually went to the university I had put in second place due to the location and loved it but I completely wasted 8 years and caused myself no end of trouble.

Jozen · 27/12/2019 09:09

Hold tight, it's going to be a bumpy ride

This, in spadefuls. Especially as it appears to go smoothly for your mates. That won't be for you sweet pea but you'll be ok.

lilgreen · 27/12/2019 09:15

Don’t get too serious, too young. Plenty of time for long term relationships.

Weffiepops · 27/12/2019 09:17

Don't be pressured into having sex.
Stop trying to find a boyfriend, the right one will come at the right time, just have fun with your friends until it happens. Also, don't move miles away for uni when there are good courses on your doorstep! Stay living at home for longer, get on the property ladder sooner, don't put up with shit from a man

Dieu · 27/12/2019 09:48

That your figure is fine. Don't marry too early, and do your pelvic floors.

CharlotteMD · 27/12/2019 09:49

thistimelastweek : this totally - what are you waiting for ?

AwdBovril · 27/12/2019 09:54

Don't go on the pill - it really doesn't agree with you
Get roaccutane instead.

Don't go to university. At least not yet, wait until you've decided what to do with your life.

Smashtastick · 27/12/2019 09:55

Do not stay with the rebound.
Learn to drive.
Save as much as you can and travel.
Stay in touch with friends. Especially her.
Be more selfish.
Don't worry about boys, they aren't worth it.
Your gorgeous.
Travel.

And if you don't take any notice (which you probably won't, knowing you) it all turns out good in the end.

Hirsutefirs · 27/12/2019 09:58

“Get out of the way, kid.”

Sicario · 27/12/2019 10:01

You are not worthless.
You are amazing.
Your upbringing was child abuse, and it's not your fault.
Build your own life, believe in yourself.
You have so much to offer.

IslaMann · 27/12/2019 10:14

Don't marry that guy. He doesn't truly value you and there are men out there who will. (While still magically getting his semen so you end up with the same amazing son you now have! 🤣)

This

Kalim8 · 27/12/2019 12:16

Don't use your dad's advice as an excuse not to think for yourself - do the course you wanted to and get a part time job around studying.

Take the plunge and do a year abroad, you are scared but there will be support in place.

I know how very much you want to have a boyfriend, because you've never been asked out and were seen as a joke in school, so you think no one will ever want you, and that seems to be the be all and end all, but honestly, it makes you so needy you'll be grateful for anyone. Have some self respect.

Also, I know how very very desperate you are to leave, but COME BACK after graduating because there are so many opportunities in your home city that you won't have elsewhere.

SteveHarringtonsHair · 27/12/2019 12:29

Trust your original feelings about a certain someone. Don’t let him back in, it will disastrous for you in the long term.

Like another poster, make the most of your Dad. He might seem invincible but he won’t be able to beat a particularly vicious battle.

BillieEilish · 27/12/2019 12:32

Do not have a DC outside the U.K with a man from that country.

No,Rights.Whatsoever.Ever.

Charlottejbt · 27/12/2019 12:35

You are amazingly beautiful. Enjoy the tiny waist and firm boobs while you can.

Don't bother with university. Massive hassle for absolutely bugger all.

Buy a house! Yes, I know you make £2.50 an hour, but there are houses in the North of England that cost £2k. Figure it out, because the opportunity won't come around again for another quarter of a century at least.

That hot silver fox you've spent the second half of your teens lusting after? Shag him now because he's not long for this world. Don't wait for him to make the first move because by then you'll be unavailable, and afterwards it'll be too late.

Stop trying to please your parents, it's impossible. The goalposts just get wider and wider.

Miriel · 27/12/2019 12:35

Hold on. It gets so much better. Better than you can imagine. This is the lowest point and anyone who tells you it's the best time of your life is an idiot who knows nothing about you. Hold on.

rebecca102 · 27/12/2019 12:37

@DisgraceToTheYChromosome Ohh jeez I felt this comment

Honeybee85 · 27/12/2019 12:38

Don’t believe your parents when they say you’re bad and contribute nothing.
Choose a different study.
Don’t waste money on stupid superficial stuff trying to fit in.
Run for the hills when you’ll meet that 10 years older guy in 2 years from now.

festivefrustrations · 27/12/2019 12:43

It’s ok to be alone! Just because you don’t have any friends doesn’t mean you need to latch onto the first man who shows an interest and constantly be coupled up.

Meshy12 · 27/12/2019 12:49

You are lovely and worth it
You look the best you will ever look so relish it

Your future husband will be lovely and won’t play games - don’t waste your time with those who aren’t worth it

Safe save save and buy a house as soon as you can

vincentsleftear · 27/12/2019 12:51

You are not fat.
Don't get involved with that guy from the forces. You'll regret it even 30 years later.
Study harder, and get proper treatment for your depression before it reaches crisis point.
Learn to be open and honest with people - break the cycle of family (mother's) secrecy about things that really don't matter.
Get into the saving habit a lot earlier!

georgialondon · 27/12/2019 12:55

You are way more good looking than you realise.

Percivalthebabyspider · 27/12/2019 12:56

Run. Fast.
