What are you doing for your holiday next year?

For the first time in years I have nothing booked.

We’re moving house at the end of Jan so I wanted to save cash for that. It would be nice however to have some clue about what we want to do!

DH wants a lodge in the highlands which sounds lovely but is weather dependent. One kid wants to go to Centreparcs in Belgium and the other wants to go to Tokyo Hmm

We have had lots of different types of holiday from eurocamp to all inclusive but nothing is really exciting me this year. I can’t stand the thought of doing nothing though.

Inspire me, what are you doing?

We are going to River Kwai in Thailand - mainly relaxing there in hot springs, canoeing, pool etc then onto Borneo where we will visit the orangutan and sun bear sanctuaries then spend 2 nights by the Kinabatangan river where we will do boat trips and jungle walks - lots of wildlife around like proboscis monkeys, orangutan, pygmy elephants. Then onto Perhentian Islands where can do snorkelling and scuba diving / swimming in ocean and there's turtle and baby sharks. I've booked it all directly so it's not too expensive (similar to our European holiday last year overall including flights), just flights that are pricey.

Strictly1972 · 18/12/2019 13:42

California road trip. Nervous but excited! We don’t usually do such big trips but it’s been on the list for years.

FunnysInLaJardin · 18/12/2019 13:43

Going to Cyprus in April for a Month, we have a house there.
Going to Dubai for our anniversary later on in the year.
Also booked to go to Dublin for my sister's 50th

Some nice sounding holidays here! I love the sound of the Thailand one.

Strictly1972 you’ll love that I’m sure. I love a US road trip.

The thought of a few smaller trips is really appealing but DD is doing her GCSEs so Easter and half term are out this year.

I also don’t want to have to cook which is another thing that makes the highlands lodge less appealing.
