What are you doing for your holiday next year?

For the first time in years I have nothing booked.

We’re moving house at the end of Jan so I wanted to save cash for that. It would be nice however to have some clue about what we want to do!

DH wants a lodge in the highlands which sounds lovely but is weather dependent. One kid wants to go to Centreparcs in Belgium and the other wants to go to Tokyo Hmm

We have had lots of different types of holiday from eurocamp to all inclusive but nothing is really exciting me this year. I can’t stand the thought of doing nothing though.

Inspire me, what are you doing?

Madeira for a week in March; 4 nights in Lucerne in July; and about 10 or so days in and round Pelion in Greece in September. I'd like a few days in the Lake District too if possible, maybe in May.

midsomermurderess · 18/12/2019 14:54

La Gomera, not Madeira, where's my head at.

ChristmasFete · 18/12/2019 14:57

A week in north Cornwall is booked. We are toying with Cuba for the very end of the year.

MustardScreams · 18/12/2019 15:00

Centre Parcs in April with the family for dad’s 60th.

Taking dd to Cornwall in May for a long weekend.

South Carolina & then Kiawah Island for 3 weeks in September to see family.

Skiing at the end of the year, but haven’t decided where yet.

Caspianberg · 18/12/2019 15:01

Baby due end April so nothing fixed yet. Thinking of heading to Italy/Croatia/ Slovenia and doing a small road trip late summer but will book last minute.

PickleSarnie · 18/12/2019 15:01

Skiing in France at Easter and hopefully hiring a camper van and driving round the North Coast 500 in October half term (hoping Oct as opposed to summer will avoid some of the crowds and most of the midges!)

Not sorted summer holiday yet but either Cornwall or France. We went to Vendee last year and it was brilliant. Did ferry and a drive and it wasn't a hideous journey at all which was a relief.

fussychica · 18/12/2019 16:06

Thinking about a quick trip to Vienna in Feb, well DH isGrin
Spain for May and June including a road trip through Extremadura and up to Salamanca after a beach holiday
Something in September, not sure what
And Portugal for November, did it this year and it was so nice so going again.

MeganChips · 18/12/2019 16:36

So many multiple holidays!

I know! I’m very jealous Grin I do have a couple of trips with friends lined up but nothing for the family.

Croatia and Slovenia appeal, I might investigate those.

We’re going to Florida keys a d then a Bahama cruise at Easter. Then have a 2 week French road trip planned for the last 2 weeks in August.

Expressedways · 18/12/2019 16:41

So far we have:
Skiing in Vail in January
A long weekend in Mexico in February
Wales for a wedding in April
South of France in August

SeaViewBliss · 18/12/2019 16:44

We're going to Florida in October. We don't do Disney but we do Universal. We will have a couple of days on the Gulf Coast, an air boat ride, a bit of art for DH & I.

It will be our fourth time and I love it!

We may go to France at Easter if we have saved enough.

AndNoneForGretchenWieners · 18/12/2019 16:52

Cape Town in February, then a couple of short breaks in Devon probably. Hoping to go to Spain or Italy off season too (DS works for an airline and gets decent discounts).

SimonJT · 18/12/2019 16:52

Sweden for a long weekend in January, nervous as it’s to meet my boyfriends family.

Sitges Spain in mid July for a week.

MistleToeSucker · 18/12/2019 17:00

I love Sitges, such a fantastic place for a holiday

I am funding dd2 and ds4 going on holiday together after exams in the summer (dd2 at university and ds4 finishing A levels)

dd5 and dd6 are coming away on holiday with us in July somewhere in the UK

ds1 and dd3 are doing a weekend trip to europe with us in Feb

me and dp will do some festivals in the summer and I think that's that for us

Twigletgirl27 · 18/12/2019 17:10

It's so grey and cold here today the thought of holidays has cheered me up no end! Tenerife in February, Rhodes in May for a wedding and Cyprus in September. Excited for all of them!

MillieMoodle · 18/12/2019 17:12

11 nights all inclusive in Lanzarote in July. We're going with friends for the first time, so there will be 4 adults and 4 kids. I can't bloody wait!

fussychica · 18/12/2019 17:13

Megan we did a Croatian road trip from Zagreb to Dubrovnik for our 40th anniversary this year. It's a beautiful country, took so many pics. Highly recommended. Slovenia is great too. DS and his girlfriend went to Ljubljana and lakes Bled and Bohinj this year and loved it.

ginghambox · 18/12/2019 17:16

Fly and flop to Egypt in January for a week.
3 weeks in Cuba in June.
Probably Crete in september.

gingajewel · 18/12/2019 17:16

We are going to salou for a week in August, I am so excited, haven’t been abroad for 14 years and the kids have never been, I cannot wait!

PrincessHoneysuckle · 18/12/2019 17:17

3 nights in ibiza in April then 2 weeks in Kos in August

Veronicat · 18/12/2019 17:18

March a week away on Skye and the highlands in the van. June 10 days away up the West coast of Scotland in the van. August 2 weeks in Orkney and the Highlands in the van. Then a few weekends when I'm not working heading to various beaches in the van. We love our van 😂

Iwantmychairback · 18/12/2019 17:20

4 nights in a self catering cottage near Dumfries booked for May.
Probably do similar in Cotswolds in September.

We go somewhere that the dogs can come too, and I hate leaving my horse for too long!

Loveislandaddict · 18/12/2019 17:21

Maybe gong back to Annecy in France. There’s a range of accommodation there. Great for teens/children - parascending, paddle boarding, swimming in lake, boating, mountains etc.

Annecy has a beautiful lake surrounded by mountains, and is in sunny France. It’s a beautiful place.

goose1964 · 18/12/2019 17:22

I'll lower the tone, as I'll be going to Bolton. It's close to where my son lives and we go up to see them rather than go abroad.

uggmum · 18/12/2019 17:25

It's a special year for us. My dh is 50 and it's our 25th a wedding Anniversary.

So we've pushed the boat out

10 day luxury stay in Mauritius in April
5 nights in New York in July and
3 nights in Rome in September
