Lily Allen

She's closed down her Twitter account apparently, saying the Tories won the election because of racism and mysogeny.

She's in denial, so far removed from ordinary life that she hasn't a clue how most ordinary people think. Nothing to do with racism. We had decided we wanted to leave Europe and resented being told we were stupid, uneducated, ill informed etc etc. Every attempt to get the deal approved was thwarted by a Parliament who thought they knew better than we did. And Corbyn is much too far left for most people.

Silly Lily needs to go back to what she does best - singing - and stop trying to interfere in things she doesn't understand.

She's the Katie Hopkins of the Left

Confused Lily Allen is a big whingebag, but how is she in ANY way comparable to Katie Hopkins?!

KH's tweets and social media platform in general with newspaper opinion articles etc stirs up division and hatred.
What has Lily Allen ever done? Apart from need to get a grip and realise that not everyone votes the same way or thinks the same?

We're leaving Europe?!

That's a development I missed. Hmm

Not leaving Europe. Leaving the EU though.
Well done on demonstrating the kind of knob-headish comment/attitude that people have got sick of and have landed us with a Tory majority Government though.

Proportional representation will show you that a higher percentage of people voted for remain parties

It's that really so? Surely you'd have to include Labour for that to be true, and they were led by a lifelong Eurosceptic and the party didn't campaign on the basis of remain.

roundtable · 14/12/2019 22:26

Um Wotcha...I didn't vote labour. Confused

But seriously, we're not leaving Europe and I'm quite tired of the ranting on both sides.

Leaving the EU yes.

WotchaTalkinBoutWillis · 14/12/2019 22:32

Um Wotcha...I didn't vote labour

OK fair enough

But seriously, we're not leaving Europe. Leaving the EU yes

That's my point though, people keep coming out with comments like that and it just gets people's backs up or makes them feel belittled.
.
I think it's played a big part in how the Leave vote panned out and now the Cons majority Government.

roundtable · 14/12/2019 22:42

There's is a massive difference between leaving Europe and the European Union.

Surely.

I could claim any old crap on the internet. Should everyone just take it as just so incase I feel belittled?

I actually do agree that Lily Allen could do with keeping her very privileged opinions to herself. But get facts correct please.

Legomadx2 · 14/12/2019 22:44

She's barking mad but apparently had a horrendous childhood so I feel pity for her.

Ohyesiam · 14/12/2019 22:50

You could close down your Mumsnet account op, incase anyone doesn’t want your opinion rammed down their throat.

WotchaTalkinBoutWillis · 14/12/2019 23:02

You're AGREEING with me though?!
I know there is.
What I'm trying to say is that coming out with knobheady humphy face type comments after any type of disagreement of viewpoint just adds to the people aren't actually listening to what people are saying and just want to be snarky instead.
