I loved him in the 90s in shooting stars. I still love him now he's nearly 60 and I'm pushing 40.

He's lovely and cuddleable.

I have had a drink and am watching Big Night Out.

I would.

OceanVillage · 06/12/2019 19:02

Oh yes, lovely and fucking hilarious! Love his crazy stories on would I lie to you 😆

Lunaballoon · 06/12/2019 19:04

I loved him in Gone Fishing with Paul Mortimer. They both came across as very likeable men.

Srictlybakeoff · 06/12/2019 19:05

Best person ever on would I lie to you. And he does his own dentistry. Very lovely

SandAndSea · 06/12/2019 19:05

I love him too! He's so funny!

Strugglingtodomybest · 06/12/2019 19:06

Me too!

Cruddles · 06/12/2019 19:08

He does a podcast called Athletico Mince. It's THE BEST PODCAST EVER. it's basically the Bob Mortimer mad half hour, just ignore the other guy he does it with as he's not very funny. Bob is the best, if i could choose one person to have an evening in a pub with it would be him

EoinMcLovesCakeJumper · 06/12/2019 19:14

I always preferred him to Vic Reeves, who I think is putting on the zaniness quite a bit, whereas Bob is clearly like that in real life. He trained as a solicitor, though, so he must have a brain as well as being funny!

Michaelbaubles · 06/12/2019 19:16

I love the Train Man impressions he does on Twitter. So funny!

BloodyCats · 06/12/2019 19:17

Love him! Middlesbrough’s sweetheart Smile

KatoPotato · 06/12/2019 19:19

@cruddles I'm gonna take you up... to the business sky!

JumpyLiz · 06/12/2019 19:24

I think he is genuinely one of the funniest people ever on tv (I can take or leave Vic Reeves)

There's nothing forced about his comedy, I was once nearly sick laughing so much at his story on Would I Lie To You, yet now I couldn't tell you what the story was.

And last week DH and me laughed for about an hour about his pronunciation of 'feta cheese' on Sunday Brunch Grin. And then corpsed again in the Aldi cheese aisle.

Sarcelle · 06/12/2019 19:30

He's adorable and hilarious. He just has a face that radiates mischief and goodwill. Don't particularly like Vic Reeves.

Cruddles · 06/12/2019 19:36

@KatoPotato I've started referring to my coffees as capi-choo-choos. My wife thinks I'm mad

nandaandm · 06/12/2019 19:43

I absolutely love him. The "stories" he's told on "would I lie to you" are legendary and him and Paul
Whitehouse on the fishing programme is comedy gold. I was listening to him this morning on Zoe Balls show, apparently he does a thing on Twitter about being on a train and speaking so loud to sound important... I've not seen them yet but I'm going to follow him right now!

PorridgeAgainAbney · 06/12/2019 19:43

@JumpyLiz I wonder if it was when he talked about the game they played like "knock and run": "I do beg your parden but we are in your garden". I had tears rolling down my face when I saw that episode repeated recently Grin.

lalafafa · 06/12/2019 19:44

love him too, he looks a bit fragile of late though.

thistimelastweek · 06/12/2019 19:46

Phew! For a horrible moment i thought there was going to be a horrible Bob revelation.
Of course Bob is lovely

BloodyCats · 06/12/2019 19:47

You are in for a treat nan, they’re spot on.
I love capi choo choo 😂

Loved him on taskmaster too.

PrivateSpidey · 06/12/2019 19:47

Oh yes - love him. Saw him and Vic live a few times in the 90s and have never laughed so much, totally hilarious.

We had tickets to see one of their gigs a year or two ago, but it was cancelled when Bob was ill.

My favourite thing he does on twitter is "cat names for sale" Grin

Badtasteflump · 06/12/2019 19:47

I had a huge crush on him in the
90's and still think he's lovely - imo the most naturally funny man ever. WILTY is always so much better with him.

Willowcat77 · 06/12/2019 19:49

Bob Mortimer is one of my favourite comedians too - I love how there is nothing mean or unkind about his comedy. He's the funniest, most loveable comedian I know. House of Fools was brilliant and very underrated.

StrayWoman · 06/12/2019 19:53

I love that he found a whole new pod fan base with Mince, he's bang on with Barry homeowner and Beardsley too.

He's just gorgeous and snuggly and hilarious.

I didn't know if I was just talking pissed shite, but glad I'm understood. 😀❤️

I do think he's really funny and likeable but O.M.G. I am sick to death of listening to Athletico Mince at the moment- my 'D'H is putting it on at every opportunity 😬 I don't think most of it is that funny. I did like Gone Fishing though!

Shetlandponyranger · 06/12/2019 19:55

He is such a nice man. He used to come in often to where I worked in Middlesbrough.

Always so friendly and with a winning smile.
i haven’t heard him say “feta cheese”, coming from the mighty Boro myself, I will probably think it is a perfectly normal way to say it!
