I loved him in the 90s in shooting stars. I still love him now he's nearly 60 and I'm pushing 40.

He's lovely and cuddleable.

I have had a drink and am watching Big Night Out.

There's a lass down the park who'll do owt for a bag o crisps. I was that lass🤣

playftseforme · 07/12/2019 08:03

Just love Bob, I’ve found my people!

hazeyjane · 07/12/2019 08:10

Love him.

'You are an adult wolf Col'

lolaflores · 07/12/2019 08:12

Nothing sexier than a genuinely funny man. I am reading this in bed trying not to laugh but I keep doing little snorts and strange choking noises I keep waking DH up.
Such fond memories of Shooting Stars.
Wavey Davey...

YoureAllABunchOfBastards · 07/12/2019 08:21

Just joining in the Bob love here. He is just naturally funny. I love that him and Vic just get to dick about on the telly - how could you explain why it is funny? You can't, but it is.

lborgia · 07/12/2019 09:39

Such great timing, just watched him on WILTY on YouTube last week... hadn't seen him for years, and love him. I am sure I read recently he had been feeling quite bleak for years... I hope his agent shows him this threadStar

TurnipToffee · 07/12/2019 10:24

What a lovely thread. These sorts of comments don't usually happen until someone has sadly died.

ChristineBaskets · 07/12/2019 10:39

Ah it warms my heart that so many others love him too! He's just so adorable and hilarious and oddly sexy. Athletico Mince is genius and has introduced a whole new lexicon to our house; I tell dh he's 'a good lad Peter' or 'a man of tod', in fact everything is a load of tod, going for a tod, the dog's done a tod, I am a wife of tod etc etc. My dh is called Mark and if he makes a little joke I say 'excellent humour Mark' in the style of Steve McLaren to Mark Lawrenson. HAIR 🎶 ISLAAAND 🎶

Wishing good health to Bob for many years to come ❤️

BloodyCats · 07/12/2019 11:29

You are an adult wolf Col' I was showing my dh this last night off the back of this thread. I’m sat laughing and he doesn’t even flinch. How can you not get it?!

TurnipToffee · 07/12/2019 12:00

Does anyone want to tweet him this thread? I've only got work Twitter ...

CollaterlieSistersSister · 12/12/2019 20:59

I’m going to bump this thread, as was just about to start my own on this exact vibe.

Bob.

Go Bob.

All of the Bob.

AudacityOfHope · 13/12/2019 12:52

I'll tweet him it if I remember

efeslight · 13/12/2019 17:38

I only watch WILTY if he is on it. I think I read about him meeting Vic Reeves and writing him a cheque for...' a large sum of money ' when they started performing together #😂

AliasGrape · 13/12/2019 17:46

I adore him and always have. And quite fancy him too. He just radiates warmth, silliness and fun. My sister and I quote random bits of Big Night Out/ The Smell of Reeves and Mortimer at each other as a kind of shorthand when we want to cheer the other one up or make them smile. She lives at the other end of the country but I love waking up to a text calling me a fakey cake maker or reminding me that curly wurlies are too elaborate.

He was one of my favourite ever task master contestants too.

efeslight · 13/12/2019 18:20

Never seen taskmaster, will have to look out for it

BertrandRussell · 13/12/2019 18:22

And he could do your conveyancing for you too....

toomuchtooold · 13/12/2019 19:12

I saw him in the hairdressers during the Edinburgh festival once, in the 90s. Somehow he's much better looking in real life than he is on the telly. Pouring fuel on the fire here, I realise...

lolaflores · 13/12/2019 20:23

After this thread, I YouTube wilty a d fucking roared for an hour. Weeping with laughter. Genuine, insane nonsense laughing. And its total bollox but its enthralling.

I do beg your pardon, we are in your garden.

And he enjoys himself so much and that's what's infectious about him and it seems effortless.

Do u think his humour would translate beyond UK Ireland? Would every other nation on earth just look at us and wonder...wtaf is wrong with these people?

Azzizam · 13/12/2019 20:45

I used to look forward to VR Big Night Out all week, think early 90s. Graham Lister was hilarious. I was a Single parent, skint, on benefits and it was the highlight of my week. Love random surreal comedy and yes Bob was and is a total cutie.
I imagine Vic being quite bolshy and unfunny off the stage. Bob's a pocket bloke.

Theknacktoflying · 13/12/2019 20:55

Lee Mack’s comment on WILTY about never asking Bob the name of anything is comedy gold ...

He is lovely ... his stories on WILTY and the way he tells them/answers the questions just kills me ...

BooseysMom · 14/12/2019 17:30

@HetHetHet.. where did you get those presents? They sound right up my DH's street! The cat names photo is very Viz ..cheers x

BooseysMom · 14/12/2019 17:37

I urge you all to watch it on you tube, the one where he talks about the owl cushion! "Steve I really can't impress upon you enough how sick this bird was" 😂

I remember this sketch. Absolute genius and reminiscent of Pete & Dud's work. (Peter Cook & Dudley Moore)..my DM adored them and as a child i recall watching the 'teaching ravens to fly under-water' sketch with tears streaming down my face!

Almostfifty · 14/12/2019 17:44

Always loved Bob. Such a funny, funny man.

HetHetHet · 15/12/2019 09:35

Booseys They're from wordynumnum.co.uk/ and the Athletico Mince shop on Etsy, www.etsy.com/uk/shop/AthleticoMinceShop

Unfortunately, they're not talking any more orders before Christmas, but the stuff is great!

emmetgirl · 15/12/2019 09:36

Big crush on him for as long as I can remember Biscuit
