I loved him in the 90s in shooting stars. I still love him now he's nearly 60 and I'm pushing 40.

He's lovely and cuddleable.

I have had a drink and am watching Big Night Out.

I love how there is nothing mean or unkind about his comedy
Yes, totally agree with this.

MrsT1405 · 06/12/2019 19:56

I love him, he's so bloody cute! He could dangle off my charm bracelet any time.

JumpyLiz · 06/12/2019 19:58

Shetland he was saying it in a daft way, it wasn't just his (lovely) accent Grin

Porridge it might well have been that episode!

rockingthelook · 06/12/2019 20:00

Love him, genuinely a funny man, really like his trainman and cat names for sale stuff on twitter too, actually makes me laugh out loud, a national treasure

BooseysMom · 06/12/2019 20:00

Agree he's a gentle, loveable teddy bear of a comedian but do you even love him when he does those bizarre noises on the new Vic & Bob show?! HmmGrin

StillSurviving · 06/12/2019 20:02

You have to watch the "would I lie to you episode" with him and the bath. No spoiler from me. It is soooo funny....

Lalallama · 06/12/2019 20:04

He is hilarious, love him on WILTY.

The song he did with Sally Phillips and Aisling Bea on Taskmaster was genius.

FloraGreysteel · 06/12/2019 20:05

He's such a gentle soul, and him and Vic/Jim seem to have a really special simpatico. They are also pants-wettingly funny together. Oh and I loved the fishing programme too :-)

katseyes7 · 06/12/2019 20:05

The funniest photo l've ever seen is him wearing what looks like a barristers wig, but it's made of cheesy Wotsits. Absolutely brilliant. He has a fantastic sense of humour. And he's nice.

InTheBleakMidwinterIWouldSing · 06/12/2019 20:07

I love him too! Going to check out the podcast, hadn’t heard of it for some reason.

IfWishesWereFishes · 06/12/2019 20:08

His Desert Island Discs was brilliant. He's a really interesting man, so warm and humble and grateful for the life he's got.

WiseUpJanetWeiss · 06/12/2019 20:09

His cat names are for rent Not for sale. They are £8 per annum. Still an absolute bargain, mind.

EoinMcLovesCakeJumper · 06/12/2019 20:09

Oh, the "Chris Rea popped an egg in my bath" story was just brilliant. He has such an air of innocence about him. I bet he's impossible to argue with because he'd just make a daft non sequitur and make you laugh instead.

bluebluezoo · 06/12/2019 20:09

Best story is the one where he offered jarvis cocker legal representation after he mooned at michael jackson.

Can you imagine that in court!!

TurnipToffee · 06/12/2019 20:15

Loved the dentistry story on WILTY!

TurnipToffee · 06/12/2019 20:17

Also love the Harry Harryman and Steve Bytheway/Officer Bytheway story.

bobstersmum · 06/12/2019 20:19

I absolutely loved him when I was a teen in the 90s! I'm going to Google him now!

EnriqueTheRingBearingLizard · 06/12/2019 20:29

I only really know him from the gone fishing series with Paul Whitehouse, which is an absolute joy.

ChiefClerkDrumknott · 06/12/2019 20:30

I love him too for all the reasons mentioned. A gem of a man

Thunderpunt · 06/12/2019 20:33

The Taskmaster series with him was one of the funniest ever, he is a comedy genius but in such a gentle, understated way, so funny

StrayWoman · 06/12/2019 20:33

To the pp who is sick of listening to Mince - you haven't listened to enough. Keep listening. You will be checking Spotify every day soon enough.

Think @Cruddles is being unfair on Andy Dawson re: Athletico Mince. He is the one that sets up a lot of the content and generally makes the thing happen. And yes of course Bob is funnier than him, he knows that, but I don't think telling people to ignore him is fair.

StrayWoman · 06/12/2019 20:40

I love Andy too. He's also great on TFTM. He's not the main man, but he's the one that makes it happen.

OP posts:
Sammysquiz · 06/12/2019 20:40

The owl story is the best one of his on WILTY!

PickAChew · 06/12/2019 20:45

He was one of my favourite contestants on Taskmaster - quietly capable and just plain surprising. I loved that series, anyhow, mind. It's right up there with the last one.
