Here is another thread to discuss the PA interview and its repercussions.

@SerendipityJane
I always thought the nanny, Sandra Rivett who was murdered in the Lord Lucan case never got justice, nor did her family.
It was appalling. Sad

Readingjournal · 22/11/2019 19:29

I believe the ride today was just that - a group of people including a mother and her son riding out together. How many people go for a ride with their dearest on their large and beautiful estate moments after they have been sacked for dodgy behaviour? It may well be what the royals do every day yet it shows so clearly how privileged their lives are compared to their ordinary subjects.

As the saying goes, if one person calls you an ass, ignore them. If five people call you an ass, buy a saddle Grin

SunsetBoulevard3 · 22/11/2019 19:52

he whole family appears completely out dated, possibly with the exception of Kate, Meghan and Harry.

I agree too. I think it's very poor judgement on the Queen's part to be seen going to Church in a car with PA and out riding, seemingly making a point that she takes his side. It sends the wrong message, whatever she feels privately.

Who cares?

Rumboogie · 22/11/2019 19:54

There is a lot of pre-judging on this thread. The whole Epstein thing is weird. Roberts' previous lawyers apparently said her claims were fantasy; Dershowitz has repudiated her accusations as records prove he was never in the places where she claims to have had sex with him.

The photo with PA is odd. The women look as if they are having a whale of a time, relaxed, wide grins reach their eyes; PA looks uncomfortable, with a 'social smile', his eyes are looking in a different direction. Also. Virginia Roberts - who stands with their hand like that?
There is something not right about the back of PA's trousers. The whole thing is not right.

hoteltango · 22/11/2019 19:54

That's what I thought - it's not just a mother and son, it's the Monarch with a disgraced Prince. They should have known that the chances of them being photographed together was very high in the present circumstances. Though I wouldn't put it past him for Andrew to have insisted.

Moomin8 · 22/11/2019 19:56

The fact of the matter is that the entire royal family at various times appear to have been ok with harbouring child abusers. The evidence to support this is copious

Winterisnigh · 22/11/2019 20:01

Rum your deluded.

Roussette · 22/11/2019 20:31

Rumboogie
It's totally right AFAIC or should I mean wrong.

If you think that PA has nothing to answer for, you're deluded. His friendship with Ghislaine Maxwell is enough to hang him let alone the other stuff which at the moment can't be proven.

Wildorchidz · 22/11/2019 20:40

He has resigned as Patron of the National English Ballet and the Royal philharmonic Orchestra.
His life has imploded.

Keepyoursockson · 22/11/2019 20:51

Could this actually bring down the monarchy?

CathyorClaire · 22/11/2019 20:59

Virginia Giuffre Panorama interview to air on 2nd December.

Wonder if he's sweating now?

MissEliza · 22/11/2019 21:01

@Readingjournal yes that is the problem with the interview. I understand the Queen is a mother who must be worried about her son but being pictured with him means she grossly underestimates public feeling at the moment. Tbh she's never been very good at that.

beanaseireann · 22/11/2019 21:05

Princess Eugenie unknowingly stole Beatrice's (big wedding ) thunder by getting married first. There is no way the British public would allow all that pomp and ceremony for one of Andrew's daughters now.

WokingPizza · 22/11/2019 21:09

@Rumboogie PA's PR people have turned up then!

SilverHawk · 22/11/2019 21:20

This is the same PA that needed riding lessons before a parade of the Grenadier Guards. The one offspring that isn't really into horses at all, much prefers transport that requires aviation fuel.
Whose PR dreamt that up because it doesn't ring true.

MissEliza · 22/11/2019 21:22

It's funny. There was so much antipathy to Eugenie's wedding but then the actual day was quite a positive for Andrew and family as they seemed such a close and happy family. That's completely unravelled now and Beatrice's day will have a dark cloud over it.

MissEliza · 22/11/2019 21:22

@SilverHawk very true. He's not a great horse rider.

BertrandRussell · 22/11/2019 21:32

You don’t have to be a great rider (not horse rider, please) to amble around Windsor Great Park on a happy hacker!

Wildorchidz · 22/11/2019 21:41

I assume Lady Louise and James Severn are having a difficult few days.

MissEliza · 22/11/2019 21:42

@BertrandRussell I think the point is that horse riding isn't a favourite pastime of PA.

LittleSweet · 22/11/2019 21:44

CathyorClaire 😆

Roussette · 22/11/2019 21:44

I assume Lady Louise and James Severn are having a difficult few days

Why?

TrixieFranklin · 22/11/2019 21:46

It's been very interesting catching up at a family party today. My family (20ish people), except for grandparents and myself, have never ever discussed the royals that I can recall. They don't love or hate them, really never aired an opinion at all.

Today they didn't stop talking about how anti-royals they now are. Not just because of PA but they're all very cross by it all.

I do wonder if this is a wide spread theme - those without a strong feeling for/against them not very much against.

Wildorchidz · 22/11/2019 21:51

@Roussette

He is their uncle. It can’t be pleasant for them to be watching this happening.
Louise is only a year younger than Virginia Roberts was.
