I love M&S Percy Pig sweets. But they are £1.69 per pack.
So I buy ‘Dinky Dogs’ from Poundland which are practically almost the same.

Do you know of other cheaper versions / imitations of products (be it food, drink, anything really!) that you can share?

Lidl version of CKOne.

EskewedBeef · 13/11/2019 20:48

Aldi chocolate buttons are far nicer than Cadbury's waxy little horrors.

FoldenHoard · 13/11/2019 20:48

I prefer Tesco's own tartare sauce to a more expensive brand.

Aldi "Norpak" aka Lurpak.

Oh and the corner shop near me sells 48 own brand Jaffa Cakes for a pound taste way nicer than the Mcvities ones.

AliceLittle · 13/11/2019 21:17

Everything from Perfume Parlour

WhatsMyAgeAgain0 · 13/11/2019 21:26

Aldi mascara 'too legit' - better than they're real

NameChange84 · 13/11/2019 21:36

I love twin peaks from poundland. Its like toblerone on steroids.

Lidl Cien face wipes are brilliant and very cheap (pennies really).

Ftumch · 13/11/2019 21:38

I like any supermarket own (not value brand though) ketchup better than Heinz.
Waitrose Essential baked beans are the best.
Waitrose jarred pesto is better than branded. There is an Asda one that's really good too.
I really like Aldi fake Jo Malone candles.

BananaStrawberry · 13/11/2019 21:44

Aldi's own jaffa cakes are so much nicer than Mcvities! Way more orange jelly Grin

Moominfan · 13/11/2019 21:48

Yes I second the Aldi mascara! It's better than the original. I'm stock piling next time it's on special buy

Kokapetl · 13/11/2019 21:50

Aldi cocoa powder has a similar packet to bournville's which put me off for years as Bournville cocoa is vile. The Aldi one is pretty good.

BeanBag7 · 13/11/2019 21:51

I do almost all my shopping in aldi and have only come across one or two "swaps" which werent as good as the recognisable brand.

Their pringles, mini cheddars and dairylea arent great. Everything else I've tried has been as good or better.

Toadsrevisited · 13/11/2019 21:52

Super drug's knock off Jo Malone perfume is excellent and £5a bottle

WisestIsShe · 13/11/2019 21:53

Lidl roll on deodorant. Think it's 47p. Works just as well as Mitchum at £3 a pop. Read about it on here, was sceptical it would work but it does.

Bezalelle · 13/11/2019 21:57

Lidl Cien bubble bath is the same or better than the Radox ones, especially the purple one. Lush! And only 55p.

Graphista · 13/11/2019 22:03

Sainsburys own "doritos" are nicer than the branded ones, they're crisper and not as greasy.

FrangipaniBlue · 13/11/2019 22:26

Aldi's own jaffa cakes are so much nicer than Mcvities! Way more orange jelly

The frangipani house concur on this!!

We also like Aldi Valley butter (their version of Anchor?)

FrangipaniBlue · 13/11/2019 22:27

Ooh and Aldi half coated Oaties - the chocolate is sooooo much nicer than the shite on a hobnob

Stravapalava · 13/11/2019 22:40

Next "Define" perfume. Smells exactly like Armani "She" and lasts for ages. I'll never buy the Armani again!

WhatsMyAgeAgain0 · 13/11/2019 22:40

@LemonPrism oooh really! I never noticed they did mascara. I will look out for this on my next trip!

I'm soooo watching this thread!

WinkyisbackontheButterBeer · 13/11/2019 23:40

I like Aldi’s copy of Aussie shampoo.
Primarks foundation.
Perfume parlours copies. Some better than others but well worth the money.
Lidl’s baileys

cstaff · 13/11/2019 23:44

Aldi or Lidl ferrero rocha . Absolutely delicious. I do always confuse these stores so maybe someone on here knows which one I am talking about Grin
