I love M&S Percy Pig sweets. But they are £1.69 per pack.
So I buy ‘Dinky Dogs’ from Poundland which are practically almost the same.

Do you know of other cheaper versions / imitations of products (be it food, drink, anything really!) that you can share?

Some great suggestions, and I’d not heard of the Perfume Parlour. Thanks for that 😃

[Potential men's Christmas gift perhaps] Ferrari Uomo fragrance smells quite a lot like Dior Fahrenheit.

Mumofjustboys · 14/11/2019 07:36

My 2 favourites are Tesco own make shreddies which have about half the sugar but taste far superior and Lidl ChocAttak (kitkatt) which have much better chocolate on them than the Nestle ones and are about half price too

Great thread OP x

Aldi gravy granules are lovely. Taste less salty than bisto and other supermarket brands I've tried and less lumps!

LottaHogs · 14/11/2019 07:47

Eden Perfumes. I think I read about hem here on MN. They make vegan, cruelty-free copies of most big name perfumes. I bought their version of L’eau D’issey and it’s fab!

MairzyDoats · 14/11/2019 07:47

Aldi Norpak spreadable butter is fantastic, better than any other. Also lidl do a big milk chocolate bar (it's not their cheapest one but still less than branded bars) which is the nicest, richest and chocolatiest I've had but I can't remember what it's called - will check if I go today. Also Lidl fresh pastries are amazing and argh I'm working from home today :(

ploofyorangebats · 14/11/2019 08:15

Primark mascara in the gold tube. Can't remember the name but it's around £2.50 and better than any top brand mascaras I own.

Second the pp above about the primark foundation, the one in the bottle with a dropper lid. About £5 and a far better texture than double wear.

Aldi/Lidl twix/snickers/mars dupes are delicious and far cheaper than branded.

TitchyP · 14/11/2019 08:43

Lidl chocolate digestives and Jaffa cakes both better than the leading brands

StrictlyNameChangin · 14/11/2019 10:07

Tesco marmite is like marmite used to be before it went runny and weird.

holidays987 · 14/11/2019 10:11

I have a few expensive brand Reed defusers / scented candles. I like Neom best, then Jo Malone. But have just discovered the Aldi version!! I've bought No.22 and No.3 and look and smell lovely, good quality. And cost under £5.

MikeUniformMike · 14/11/2019 10:12

I want to eat own brand Shreddies now.

Crunchymum · 14/11/2019 10:21

@Stravapalava

I wear Armarni She, so need to check out the Next version.

SoupDragon · 14/11/2019 10:23

Aldi fake Pringles.

DieCryHate · 14/11/2019 10:27

Next London perfume is just like the signature chloe perfume
Lidl's baileys imitation is nicer (I only buy it at Christmas but think it's £3.50-4)
B&M do room sprays and candles that smell the same but even cheaper than the Aldi ones
Superdrug do a vitamin E hot cloth cleanser which my skin appreciates far more than the Liz Earle I was using. Under £4
NYX brow pomade is better than Anastasia BH
ASDA do an extra dry prosecco for £5 which is very nice and often available on a multi buy deal

Dowser · 14/11/2019 11:27

Another one here for primark foundation..less greasy than other brands
Plus you can unscrew the lid and get the last bit out unlike maybelline which gets thrown away with a good quarter left in the bottle.

Smelly50 · 14/11/2019 11:31

Diecryhate do next still stock london perfume. I love chloe but would like a cheaper version, can't seem to see in o next website.
Dowser what is primark foundation called looking for a cheaper one to double wear.

TheFaerieQueene · 14/11/2019 11:31

Aldi lacura caviar face cream is v good and at £6.99 much better value than La Prairie !!

Dowser · 14/11/2019 11:34

Cor..we have an aldi opposite a Lidl where we live ( with a b and m, range, and home bargains nearby)
I usually drop dh off at aldi to do the shopping...I need to go in myself dont I?

camelandsushi · 14/11/2019 11:45

Perfume parlour and Waitrose beans!

timeforawine · 14/11/2019 11:47

Aldi Irish cream, better than Baileys

timeforawine · 14/11/2019 11:53

Happy to hear about the Aldi candles, will be buying one this weekend :-)
I like Primark perfume

PigletJohn · 14/11/2019 14:16

Lidl's dishwasher tablets. Better than almost all branded ones.

Aldi "fruit preserves" (I call them jam). Like Bonne Maman.

legoiseverywhere · 14/11/2019 14:27

Switched to Lidl's washing liquid tabs & not noticed a difference.

M&S mayo is better than Hellman's (think it's cheaper), Sainsburys own brand isn't nice.

Switched to Aldi reed diffusers, great value.

Buy Aldi wotsits & hula hoops & cereals. No difference to the branded ones.

Lidl does great chocolate & wooden toys that rival more expensive brands.

legoiseverywhere · 14/11/2019 14:29

oh & Aldi prosecco is delicious
