Is there already a thread about the instamum dramas involving MoD today?

This whole thing is a clusterfuck.

myolivetree · 13/11/2019 11:39

There is huge money being made here in a way that would not wash on TV, print media or mainstream advertising. It stinks.

Totally. Tv commercial content is heavily regulated.

It's so relevant to be discussing this stuff. The content is personal because it has been made personal by MoD et al. That is the point. Critical discussion is not a 'pile on'.

Doubleraspberry · 13/11/2019 11:41

People trust brands. Not just 'vulnerable' people. That's so patronising.

I didn’t mean to patronise. Maybe we are all vulnerable to the same schtick - advertising wouldn’t make billions if we weren’t. But the Instamums often are marketing to women who are in a particularly difficult and isolated time in their lives, and so I would argue we do need regulation even more to safeguard them. I was responding to someone who thought that it was tough shit if someone’s insecurities led them to trust an online account.

Hey @chicken2015 - yes, accusing someone of playing the race card makes them racist. HTH.

merrygoround51 · 13/11/2019 11:48

Mad hatter - I kind of agree, I think if you are not a particular race you can’t truly understand that experience so can’t really comment on what is and what isn’t the ‘race card’

We also see so few image of diverse motherhood be that disability, skin colour, religion etc

I'd like to know more about how the IP address was disclosed 💁‍♀️ I'm guessing someone pretty tech savvy within the tattle world hacked that? Doesn't make MoD actions at all right .. I'm just curious as to how she was rumbled

HowlsMovingBungalow · 13/11/2019 12:22

Not sure that a Tattle user hacked MOD's troll account, more like Tattle HQ/moderators leaked that her troll account was also posting from a holiday destination.

HowlsMovingBungalow · 13/11/2019 12:24

Tattle is there for the shill too.

AgathaMystery · 13/11/2019 12:26

If you read all the tattle threads (13 & counting) MOD actually messaged a tattle member by mistake. She meant to message the mods. Awkward.

Doubleraspberry · 13/11/2019 12:26

Yes, the Tattle mods made it known.

Doubleraspberry · 13/11/2019 12:27

The fact that they’d spotted it, not the actual IP address.

Tooearlyforcrackers · 13/11/2019 12:36

Yes but if you read it properly she messaged her on mumsnet. The conversation on influencer ethics was shut down on MN and many users, including Alice, apparently migrated over.

HowlsMovingBungalow · 13/11/2019 12:44

Looks like it might blow up for another popular Insta 'mummy' ...

Sagradafamiliar · 13/11/2019 12:46

Which one?
Clemmie H is using her private account on Insta now.

dottydolly72 · 13/11/2019 12:50

Thanks for clarifying, does raise gdpr concerns surely? Mind you a sight like that I'm sure she knew it wouldn't end well.

Shinnoo · 13/11/2019 12:50

So CH outed herself then, effectively?!

Shinnoo · 13/11/2019 12:51

Or did the tattle mods out her, and does that break gdpr??

Doubleraspberry · 13/11/2019 12:57

She was banned after the mods looked into her account following posts defending MOD and other posters quizzing her. She then set up a second account and posted a handful of times on that before being banned again. She never admitted it at the time (earlier this year).

Then a couple of weeks ago one of the posters posted ‘hey, remember that time MoD got caught out posting on here? Lol. I went through her posts in a bored moment and look at all the stuff she said about her mates [insert list]. If only they realised!’. About a week later the Hungermama shit hit the fan.

I’d guess either the collating of the posts caused a ruction with one of them who was vaguely aware but hadn’t realised how much Clemmie has bitched, OR someone who’d only just started looking at Tattle because of the Sali Hughes stuff, and she was confronted and fessed up. She asked them all to stay silent but it was not to be - accounts need followers and books need buyers.

legoiseverywhere · 13/11/2019 12:58

I assumed that other insta mums who read Tattle saw the accusations & put two & two together & confronted CH privately and then pressured her into admitting it as otherwise the timeline doesn't make sense & wasn't another mum saying she was pressured into staying quiet.

Sharonthetotallyinsane · 13/11/2019 13:02

I was hoping that Dolly and Pandora would discuss this on their podcast this week given they had her on before when she ‘was being trolled’. However they haven’t and then I realised they have the management.

dottydolly72 · 13/11/2019 13:05

Not sure how she can come back from this, I feel quite sad about it all if I'm honest. But saying that the whole influencer world is full of trolls and back biting it would seem.. bit like school playground mums f*cking each other over for likes and freebies. She's made a pretty penny out of it that's evident.. how she can now sustain the lifestyle remains to be seen.

RoseAdagio · 13/11/2019 13:29

What's the Salli Hughes stuff? I'm out of the loop on that one...please fill me in...!

Doubleraspberry · 13/11/2019 13:59

There was a thread on here about it all but it seems to have been deleted. She did an Instagram story about a website that had trolled her mercilessly for years and made her life miserable. She was talking about Tattle.Life and as a result quite a lot of people went to look at it for the first time.

dottydolly72 · 13/11/2019 14:10

That's when I first heard of the site to. Sali also did a post on here Instagram page a video I think all about the bullying she'd had from the site. Not sure if it's still there ? Never knew who was until I when and had a look..

BanKittenHeels · 13/11/2019 14:22

Weirdly if you looked into half the things SH accused Tattle of, there is no evidence of it.
