What’s the FIRST thing you would buy if you won the lottery

Feel free to be as shallow as possible. Forbidden choices include: paying off your mortgage, going on holiday or charitable donations. You know, all the stuff we’d all actually do with a lottery win Grin

Mine would be to buy a really bloody nice handbag (never had one).

(Then of course I’d move on to the boring but important stuff).

A live-in housekeeper.

Slaymill · 03/11/2019 11:38

Laptop mine needs a new battery and it's expensive.

I would like to hire a theme park for my son and family to go on all the roller coasters all day with no queuing.

I would do your ironing/washing @BillyAndTheSillies for nothing if you were my friend. I'm just bored of my own.

Ohdeariedear · 03/11/2019 11:43

I’d be out the following morning to the Apple shop to get everyone a laptop, iPad and phone. Then in the afternoon I’d buy a new car - it wouldn’t be my actual ‘lottery win’ car, but I’d certainly want an upgrade to run around in while I’m carefully pondering what the lottery win one is going to be (I’ve got it narrowed down to four now🤣. )

jamburglar · 03/11/2019 11:44

I'd fill up the oil tank and put the heating on without worrying it's going to run out. Then I'd get on property websites and buy a big but not vulgar house with a large plot of land attached and build a ten foot wall round the whole thing, and demolish the moldy heap I live in at the minute. And I'd write an immediate resignation letter to work on very expensive paper.

LadyFlumpalot · 03/11/2019 11:44

A Nismo tubed Nissan GTR for weekend use and Mercedes C63AMG Black Edition for everyday use.

A 1000l fish tank and all the tropical fish.

A boob job.

theoriginaltms · 03/11/2019 11:47

A boob job lip fillers nose job bum lift I'd just have the works done Grin

ammyspice · 03/11/2019 11:55

Designer Handbags - Chanel, Hermes, Dior etc

Likethebattle · 03/11/2019 11:58

A cottage in the highlands or Argyll. Then I’d make phone calls to everyone who ever fucked me over (including clients) all I’d say is ‘yer a dick!’

rainbowconfetti · 03/11/2019 11:58

A badass Christmas tree Grin

Mammyloveswine · 03/11/2019 11:59

Oooh id buy a huge brand new house and just leave my current house to store all my shit in until
I got someone in to sort it all out for me!

I'd have a nose job and Botox and get a very expensive makeover.

I'd hire a personal trainer and personal chef.

Edit. If I only won a tenner I'd buy a bottle of wine Grin

Besidesthepoint · 03/11/2019 12:27

A private cook who also does the shopping and cleaning up afterwards.

salcombebabe · 03/11/2019 13:01

The first thing I would do is buy a house each for my twins and myself then I’d buy 10 more properties of different sorts ie: 1 bed flats to 3 bed homes. These I would rent out for a nominal rent (just enough to cover maintenance) and I’d rent them to people/families who are struggling with the crippling costs of private renting.

MrsTerryPratchett · 03/11/2019 13:47

Personal trainer.

Keto chef.

Private jet.

But before all of that... www.popularmechanics.com/culture/music/a19717/handmade-marble-music-machine-will-blow-your-mind/ hand made marble music machine $100K almost. Worth every penny.

IdiotInDisguise · 03/11/2019 13:50

I will ensure DS was well supported through University, do all my house up, buy another little one in the countryside and another one by the coast.

... and I would become the unreliable employee who is not bad enough to fire... just to spite my spineless boss.

Kez200 · 03/11/2019 14:23

Holiday home - probably in France.

An electric car.

Two houses, or two deposits depending on win level, for the kids who are both working full time but their rent is making saving more difficult. Theyve got some but not the sort of tens of thousands you need as a deposit to buy a non new build.

Pukeworthy · 03/11/2019 14:24

Ice cream. Mint choc chip.

CrowleysBentley · 03/11/2019 14:36

Personal chef, personal trainer and nose job.

Later in once I had bought a lovely house with a big garden and got someone in to decorate and furnish it to my liking, and had the garden done to my specification, I would get a maine coon. I have always wanted one.

I'd also have a room filled with lots of beautiful, expensive yarn to make lovely things with, and loads of gorgeous cotton bedding so I could have freshly laundered, and ironed (by someone else) sheets on my bed every single day.

crosser62 · 03/11/2019 14:36

Oh I’d get my conservatory fixed, painted and beautiful furniture put in it with underfloor heating.
Oh my, the luxury.

Na fuck it, I’d buy a new house with a huge fuck off orangery.. that’s s posh conservatory yes? I’d do that..

Oh and book a table at our local posh Thai restaurant as it’s a bit pricey but amazing food. It’s like £20 per person, that’s a weeks food shopping for my entire family in one meal!!

I’d get a car valet. Inside and out. Love my car when it’s clean.. by someone else. Never had a valet, never.
It’s kinda posh.

FlamingoAndJohn · 03/11/2019 14:50

Lots of beautiful blankets from a nearby shop that sells beautiful things.

I bloody love a blanket.

milliefiori · 03/11/2019 14:50

A month at a luxury bootcamp. I dream of some place kitted out like a five star spa in gorgeous grounds where you do a combination of hard core bootcamp and poweryoga with lots of pampering lolling around in steam rooms. I'd stay until I had lost all the weight I've gained and then come home, having booked a daily personal trainer to keep me in shape.

Then I'd book a friend who is a brilliant but expensive interior decorator to sort out our student tip of a house and turn it into a shining but homely jewel of a house.

I would find it so easy to spend the lottery money.

Whoopstheregomyinsides · 03/11/2019 14:54

Diamond ring with a decent size but not vulgar diamond to replace my engagement ring

A good selection of wine and some glasses I've coveted for years - not silly money but I'd like them

A new Mulberry handbag in soft leather

Entirely new make up

I'd buy other people stuff but that's my self list - house of course is a given

GretelGreen · 03/11/2019 15:22

I love everything on here! I want us all to win. Sadly I have to wait until next Saturday as unbelievably it wasn’t me this week.

I assume you mean an obscene amount of money, not a couple of million, in which case I would go half with HufflepuffBean and buy Cadburys back from the Americans and return it to the deliciousness it once was.

A house in Chelsea would see off a few million, hire a housekeeper and her husband as an odd job man, plus a gardener or two and a chauffeur, a Mercedes 250 SL - always wanted one, plus something more up to date. I love my present home so would have it completely brought up to date, ie re-wiring, new bathroom, new kitchen, hire .a garden designer. Every antique I ever fancied, including jewellery.

Investigate couture designers to find one or two which suited my style and order new wardrobes from them for each season.

Give varying amounts to family and friends, ditto several charities.

Buy every piece of woodland that came up for sale, and hire a woodsman to keep them in good condition.

A personal trainer, I'm physically disabled and find exercising very difficult.

That's just for starters Grin
