How many seats do you have in your living room?

I have a 3 seat corner sofa and a 2 seat

So 5 people can comfortably sit here.

Just wondered what the average is as mine seems small.

I don't have people here that often - I have only lived in the area I live in for a couple of years. Small family who are 50 miles away but with work and school they don't get here that often, we tend to meet at the house in the middle.

It's not that I dislike people coming, just circumstances.

Previously I always used to have a house full of friends ..... 200 miles away.

Jaynetheplane · 27/10/2019 20:19

I have a grand sofa that supposedly takes 4 people and a large sofa that holds 3, so 7 in total!

It’s not enough, there’s 9 of us!

Sexnotgender · 27/10/2019 20:20

3 seater
2 seater
Armchair

MrGsFancyNewVagina · 27/10/2019 20:21

I corner seat that would sit about 7, a three seater and a nursing chair that I bought second hand, just because it was so cute and comfortable. I’ve never nursed. 😁 We used to bring in some extra chairs during parties.

OpheliaBee · 27/10/2019 20:22

A two seater sofa, a futon, and a beanbag. Seats for four I guess. But you could actually squeeze three onto the sofa, two on the futon and you could sit someone on the wooden toy box too. So at a stretch, you could seat seven.

Sexnotgender · 27/10/2019 20:22

Also so lolz the poster who counts floor space as seating. I can seat about 100 people but that also includes guests sitting on the driveway

Oh I didn’t know we were including floor space. In that case at least 50.

OpheliaBee · 27/10/2019 20:23

(We don’t entertain much as our house is tiiiny! If we do it’s usually 2-4 guests rather than a party!)

Wizzbangpop · 27/10/2019 20:27

5 able to watch tv maybe able to squeeze an extra couple of chairs in with a bit of rearranging. Also have window seat which can seat 2 comfortably. But not in view of tv and you'd have to shift dog first

motortroll · 27/10/2019 20:30

We have a 3 seater and 2 seater, there's 5 of us. We used to have a 4 seater and an armchair as our old house wouldn't accommodate 2 sofas. We actually still have the old ones as we have 2 lounges but the proper lounge is the 2 sofas.

NeverGotMyPuppy · 27/10/2019 20:31

There's 2 adults and a baby in our house. You can seat 7 on sofas etc and another one if we use the beanbag

Becbobs · 27/10/2019 20:39

A three seater, a four seater (which is huge!) And a love seat which can take another two. We are a family of four, but often have many more over - I have a big family!

WhenPushComesToShove · 27/10/2019 20:46

4 seater sofa, 3 seater and 2 seater so 9 altogether

DelphiniumBlue · 27/10/2019 20:58

5 adults, me and DH plus 3 DS. Often 6 of us as my mother is often with us. We have 2 x 3 seaters and a 2 seater sofa, plus large pouffe. That's 9.

Xiaoxiong · 27/10/2019 21:00

We regularly need to seat 12 in the drawing room so we have 2 three seater sofas, a two seater sofa, two wing chairs and two pouffe things. The family room we have a big 5 seater sectional from Ikea and a poang, so seats 6 total.

imarocketman50 · 27/10/2019 21:01

A large 3 seater sofa, one armchair and one large swivel chair. Our lounge and dining room are open to each other so we have another four dining chairs and a mini chair.

Could seat 10/11 without much effort.

Bobthefisherghoulswife · 27/10/2019 21:02

5 seater corner sofa and a computer chair, 2 adults, one small DC and little dog.

darkriver19886 · 27/10/2019 21:03
  1. One 2 seater sofa, one chair and two dining room chairs. My living huge and there is just me here.

I never have more than one person over at a time.

PrincessHoneysuckle · 27/10/2019 21:03

3 seater settee for me,DJ and ds 5.

PrincessHoneysuckle · 27/10/2019 21:03

Dh not dj

BarbedBloom · 27/10/2019 21:39

3 seater, 2 seater and two arm chairs. Our living room is massive though, biggest room in the house by far and we do both have large families

Doilooklikeatourist · 27/10/2019 21:46

We have 2 x 2 seater sofas , 1 x 3 Seater and a wicker armchair , so 8 easily

But we have a massive house and have had 60 here for a party on more that one occasion

We can seat about 24 in the dining room , but that’s another thread if anyone wants to start one ...

ChocolateTea · 27/10/2019 21:48

A 3 seater, and 2 armchairs. Plus a padded footstool which will seat one, and a padded bench thing (which is usually the cats) which will seat 2.

We are a family of 4/5

Mominatrix · 27/10/2019 21:54

Medium sofa
Large sofa
4 armchairs
2 poufs

Guess that could seat 12

ShinyGiratina · 27/10/2019 21:56

A 3 seater and a 2 seater sofa. Two DCs and I sit comfortably on the 2 seater. The room is long and thin with awkwardly placed doors so it's the only combination that really fits.

Plenty of portable IKEA chairs, camping chairs and beanbags that can be arranged if necessary.

autumnboys · 27/10/2019 22:08

Our lounge is weirdly thin and long. So one end has a three seater & a generous two seater. There’s another big three seater opposite the tv at the other end. We have a footstool that I don’t mind sitting on for an evening. There’s a Lloyd Loom in the conservatory that comes in if we need it.
