What time do you eat your evening meal and is it the last thing you eat until the next day?

We eat at 5pm, sometimes a little later, sometimes a little earlier if everyone is "starving" after school. Everyone is in bed by 8 including me unless I have something I want to watch but usually I'm in bed and reading until 10pm ish.

When I was little, mum sometimes made me supper which was usually toast or crumpets, or maybe a hot chocolate and a couple of biscuits in my teens and my dad was one for scoffing a tower of biscuits before bed. He'd have a tower of 6 digestives, fig rolls, or ginger nuts piled on his bedside table. I wonder if biscuit habits are hereditary...

Do you eat anything after your evening meal? If so, what kind of things do you have? I'm terrible for eating chocolate in bed whilst reading so have given it up until Christmas to get me out of the habit. I appreciate that a lot of people drink alcohol in the evening so maybe you drink instead as your evening treat. I rarely drink alcohol. I would but I'd fall asleep even earlier if I did.

I often get hungry around 9pm and my stomach has been gurgling for the past hour because I haven't eaten much today. I'm determined though to try and reset my body clock with regards to eating in the evening so I'm ignoring it. I don't think it's impressed that dinner was Rice Krispies Grin but I didn't fancy anything else.

TL:DR what time do you eat dinner? Do you eat anything after that and if so what?

Eat about 5-6pm then snack about 9pm.

Usually eat between 7&8. I’ll often have a small something sweet with a cup of decaf coffee in bed while reading about half 9 or 10. Ds’s can eat their tea and then be “snacking” on rounds of toast an hour later! I normally then eat breakfast around 10am.

We used to eat much later, about 8ish, but now we have DD, we like to all eat together, and she goes to bed at 6.30ish (she's only 8 months) so we've been eating early, around 5.45ish. I haven't actually needed much before bed as I tend to work evenings anyway, but sometimes I'll have a yoghurt or a cup of tea and a muffin or something later on.
